IRTA test Jerez '90 - 500cc

Rare footage from the IRTA pre-season test sessions at Jerez, Spain. The major teams in 500cc are breaking in their new toys.
Filmed with a borrowed VHS camera with large amounts of enthusiasm, much later edited in FCP and put on a DVD, later again ripped from said DVD...
The booming silence during the first 20 seconds is due to removal of copyrighted music :-(

A vederlo oggi, è un motociclismo primitivo rispetto a oggi. Eppure, per me è sempre il più bello e il più affascinante. Quei rumori e quegli echi trascinati, era il sapore, gli odori, l'urlo della pista, della competizione. Io penso che oggi valga di più apparire ai media, più la visibilità che non lo sport. E però oggi non è che vadano più piano! Assolutamente no, anzi, vanno più forte! Sono tirati al massimo. Ma è una dura competizione mediatica, tutta esasperazione, e non c'è più il gusto della passione, il gusto della competizione. I piloti sono tirati al massimo, è però una guerra sensa senso. Il sapore non c'è più.
