This is what we call it is a metaphor in making, this is why Mani sir is legendary in making, particularly in the shot division of a scene. For each mood and circumstance of the subject in a frame is calculated based on that, and the direction team sits and writes with the cinematography team about the final output. Those inputs always would there on paper, my friend was an associate director to GVM sir where GVM used to say, Mani sir composing a scene in the paper itself would differ than anyone in Indian cinema. beyond this PC sreeram works with mani sir also differs, especially in nayakan, agni natchachithram, Geethanjali, thiruda thiurda and notably in alaipaithey too, ( everyone thinks it's just a love movie) but in a single ( pachai nirmaey) song, how the colour composition of the screen should be nu, have been explained by PC sreeram. even his assistants KV anand/ thiru also maintained this kind of metaphor composition in muthalvan, boys and heyram too. for exclamatory scene the camera moment would look like exclamation marks and in questionnaire scene the camera moment is like a question mark in boys' movie, especially the whole family discussion in heroine's house. That's why Mani sir, Shankar sir , PC sir and Kamal sir are Connoisseurs of Indian cinema . Idhu yethuvamae theriyama, people in the name of review nowadays just trolling the above legends ( especially blue sattai, plip plip ) . Technically our people are strong, sorry forgot to add balu Mahendra sir - he is a marvel in playing with lights.

Great Video ! I would like to share my perspective for "Intha Ulagam Kathavadaithaal Etti Uthaippaen Athu Thirakkum" shot ,as we can see the camera starts moving towards the character, starting behind a door frame(with no door), as the character(moving towards camera) knocks the imaginary door in air with his leg, that is where the character leaves the 'light area' and enters the 'shadow area' which might simply depict he is inside now with his own efforts. In this context, the light might simply depict outside space and shadow might simply depict inside space of anything which character desires to enter. Also knocking with hand is usual then knocking with leg ..if it is demanding such unusual action, what is beyond the door might be something deep or unknown , as we move deeper into any space, its dark, so the depiction of entering the shadow . Just my perspective .

I noticed another small detail in the minister post request scene this scene starts from top with Anandhan's eye level above Tamizhselvan's eye level like Anandhan is looking down at Tamizhselvan then, camera gradually descends until Anandhan stops speaking by the time, Tamizhselvan starts talking, now his eye level is above Anandhan's eye level and this maintains until the scene ends visually showing the power that Tamizhselvan holds in that situation. A good video with amazing compilation. Many points I have missed and some I have viewed and understood in a different way. This video is simply a different perspective of so many points. Although, I was expecting one more shot, which is my personal favorite. When Anandhan is having his lunch in Tamil Selva's house, Tamil Selvan will come, take his hand and make him wave infront of a huge crowd. After sometime, he will withdraw his hand from Anandhan's but Anandhan will still continue to wave his hand. I believe this means that Tamil Selvan took him into politics by hand, but even if leaves him, Anandhan has a motive of not leaving and continuing alone. An amazing video!! Kudos!!

really great work need a part 2 for it, Luckily I had a chance to speak with Santhosh shivan sir the pre-production work and input for Iruvar is humongous and ya Santhosh Sivan sir got a national award for it, the sad news is that the sensor board ate a major portion of the movie and you know the reason why it happened. Kudos to you anna there is a vast difference between your previous cinematography analysis and this one kindly continue this for a long way.
