They should have made more of Patterson. Paul Trinka was the best of the "second line" actors aboard the Seaview I think.

Yes!!! Frank it is!!! That was just awesome!! Thank you, my friend. For those that don’t know my story . . . I had to travel to my mom’s house down the Jersey Shore when she was dying last year. 4 hours round trip from my house for months. Then I discovered The Irving Channel, and he kept me company in the car for all that time. Batman, Lost in Space, Time Tunnel and Bruce Lee saving the Green Hornet every week. I didn’t need to see the picture; I have my 60’s TV shows memorized. I just wanted to say thank you!! I print everything in 3D. Irwin Allen is my specialty . . . I even have an 8-foot Seaview. Can’t wait to see the rest of the Voyage episodes reviewed by you!!! Thank you, Dave. Seriously . . . Thank you. You really got me thru a rough time.

I can't tell you how choked up I am right now. Sometimes I get a little discouraged, sometimes I get a bit bogged down in the details and I wonder why I keep doing this. Then someone like Frank comes along and answers my question. How do I thank you for that? I'm honestly speechless. You're doing better now?

I've always been a fan of Patterson and glad there was this episode to spotlight him. Thanks for showing the hilarious scene where Patterson kids the chief about the picture.

Those gifts are wonderful and speak to what the channel is all about!

OOoooooh! I love that little diving bell!

The props are wonderful. Considering the bulletproof lads Dawson has portrayed, tranquilizer gas missiles aa Thunderbolt Ross going after the Hulk doesn't seem outside the realm of tactics. Especially if Lagoon Thing has friends. Kowalski's confusion at being volunteered was beautiful. 😅

We're back to Monster Of The Week but this one was pretty good. I recall Hugh Marlowe from the classic 1951 SciFi film, "The Day The Earth Stood Still" as Patricia Neal's love interest. His role here is a lot less noble but a lot more interesting. Bainbridge Wells was sort of like a modern day P.T. Barnum' every story he did was the Big Show! But he was also a liar and Con-Man who put his fame above anything and everyone. Poetic that he died at the hands of his biggest story ever. And kudos to crewman Patterson for exposing him for killing his Dad and the rest of the camera crew. And thanks, Irving for showing us the regulator that revolutionized SCUBA diving back in 1970, GREAT review! 👍

Very cool diving bell! I do follow a few science streamers. Sabine Hossenfelder, Anton, the Science Asylum, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Scott Manley, etc. As far as I know, none of them sacrificed their camera crews...At least not that I know of.

Thanks David, I do think Patterson was rather naughty in this one but blimey did the Captain have a go at him I am just loving that diving bell you just need a matching Seaview to go with it, thanks and love to pussy cat.

Bainbridge Wells played by 1950s B Movie star Hugh Marlowe was convincing as a slimy TV journalist.

33:55 "If you want to meet the kid then next time..... bring chocolate." Are you suggesting the crew of the Seaview bribe the kid with candy? Why not switch out the submarine for a white windowless van to complete the look?
@dwashbur27 күн бұрын
Could you be more out of context? The chocolate is for me, obviously.

What would the creature do if it got a hold of the lure? Maybe break it because it hurts his ears? Was that monster suit used for any other episodes besides this and the one where Kowalski imagined it?
@dwashbur2 ай бұрын
Not so far, but in future episodes, I don't know yet.

Apologies for the question. Is this a re-upload of an old episode or a misnumbering?
