I used to foster kittens, one litter of 5 resulted in me falling for one and l knew that l should also adopt the sibbling she interacted with the most. Yes it is expensive as l later discovered one has FeLV but they play, bond and groom together and I'm so glad l made the decision to adopt two. I believe it is the best option if you can afford and accomodate it, despite both do a Mexican hat dance on my last nerve

I feel terrible about that FeLV thing. My tuxedo kitten, Ridley had it. She was always sick. I gave her one whole year being a princess. She was rescued from outdoors where winter was approaching fast, and had I not been gifted with her, she would have never survived the winter and would have been sick, starving, cold, unwanted, alone, and unloved. I know she is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for me.

Hi. I think its much easier to travel and move around with one cat. Owning a cat costs money too. Here in Finland catfood and veterinary costs are quite high. Ofcourse two cats are company to each others. Nice to see your videos with Mila🐈🥰

I agree!! Even with 1 it’s still expensive. My travel costs have over doubled with her, and I’m happy to do it (she’s such a joy I love having her in my life) but definitely notably more expensive. Thanks for your message/ watching our videos I always enjoy seeing your comments ☺️☺️☺️

It depends on the cat, I have one right now, & she's perfectly content being the sole master of the house.

I ended up getting another kitten when my tiny was about a year old. She did really well with this cat (Gracie) but it was hit or miss with the many rescues and fosters I've had over the years! I am very happy I got her a mate. I was a flight attendant for many years so they kept each other company when I worked. ❤

I have one cat at a time because I am on disability and two us too much work for me and too expensive. The good thing is that I can spend more time with my cat than most people. I tried having two cats once and one bullied the other. So two cats us not a guarantee anyways.

I'm with Melissa on this one. She'll be fine. I wouldn't want to have to find myself in the position of giving up Spectre, Mina or Bandit because I can only take one of them somewhere. Anything I do will ripple horribly in the cat structured balance. They all come with me, or I don't go. I'm ok with that. Melissa, I don't think, is. Mila was the perfect companion.

2 cats for a tireless traveler would make them unleash their energy between them. You would have more time for yourself. But consider the expense and logistics of transportation.

Yeah unfortunately I couldn’t travel with 2 as most airlines only allow you to have 1 🙃 who knows where life will take us, Mila does love people and tolerates other animals so we will have to see what comes ☺️☺️☺️

Dectative Mila , the treval inspector . I wish my cat would be like this , but no he is an escapist and does what he wants.

😂😂 she is a travel inspector!! I think it helps that we started when she was so young, out in her backpack and leash so it’s normal for her. But even so, sometimes she still will try to run close to an edge or climb too high in a tree 😅😅😅😅

What i did was accidental. Next door have a young cat, and mine was busting to be friends with him. And he was busting to be friends too. They crooned at each other through the screen door. Now that my kitten is bigger, he plays outside everyday with his friend. The leash didn't work, and he outgrew the backpack. I didn't plan this, but it's worked out wonderfully.

There are some kittens/cats that can exist happily as a single cat. My dad's cat, Baby is a perfect example. She HATES other cats. In 20 years, she has only ever been close with one other cat, Dara Sue. Dara has been gone a long time now, and as soon as Dara Sue relinquished her castle to Baby, she has viewed any other cat in her castle as a pest, intruder...or worse. Her life has been sitting on the lap on my dad for so long, I can't even remember a time that wasn't true. She's not overly friendly to humans, really, except my brother (special needs, 44 with the mental acuity of a 6 year old, non verbal autistic, and rather unhealthy). Baby knows my brother is important to my dad, and she watches out for him for dad. Another of my cats was Mink. She was a gorgeous gray tiger long haired kitten who was a fraidy cat (if you saw where we rescued her from, you would be, too). She was attached to me very tightly. She accepted petting from others, but she hid in my shirt/coat and would travel around in my hood, and watch from my right shoulder everywhere I went. She got along with my mom's cat, Socks, and was sad to see him go when mom and dad came back from vacation. She was a jealous kitty, and did not like seeing me pet other cats. She would try to cut in on the action. Ironically, it was when her and I were separated for just a minute that the events that led to her tragic death started. She was picked up by the neighbor girl, and that girl had just gotten a puppy, a fairly large puppy, and she used Frontline topical treatment on him, and then picked him up... and then picked Mink up some time after. She was exposed to Frontline for Dogs, and on a 5-6 month old kitten, it is almost universally fatal. I thought it was tick paralysis when it happened, but me and an entire vet team looked EVERYWHERE on her, and nothing. There wasn't many other things this could be, and I pieced it together 2 days later, washed her, and blow dried her, but it was too late. 2 weeks later, I lost her. Anyway, for cats that did much better in pairs, Spectre, my current cat is a shining example. He made me adopt Mina and treated her like a daddy (even let her nurse on him like a mommy). Mina was rescued from her mother, who tried to kill her, and did kill her sibling kitten. Being taken away from her mother brought on behavioral issues that Spectre was fine dealing with. At some point, he made it clear to me she was his, and I would accept it or not. In fact, when it came time to spay Mina, which, you know how it works, you take kitty to vet, and come back home. Sometime later in the day, the vet calls and you go get the kitty and bring her home. Well, when I left with Mina and didn't come back with her, Spectre must have thought I got rid of her. He acted out like he was the exact opposite of how he usually acted. He knocked over his food bowl, swatted and hissed at me, wouldn't come to me, attacked my leg, dug out one of his litter boxes all over the floor, and finally, he looked right at me while he peed in one of his beds. When the vet called, needless to say, I was relieved. I went and got her, and brought her home, and it immediately exorcised whatever demon possessed my good Spectre, and he went up to her, rubbed on her, started grooming her, and walked her over to one of the many cat beds in the house (this one was under my desk) and went to sleep with her. A few hours later, he jumped up on my desk and climbed on my shoulder, put his paw on my cheek, and gave me kitty kisses and just sat with me, purring loudly. Personally, I am CERTAIN Mila will be just fine. One of the biggest reasons is because her human is so engaged with her, she will likely never desire a mate.

It just goes to show how all cats have such individualized personalities doesn’t it? It’s so interesting to me, because with dogs, I can kind of see “breed” characteristics, like we know labs will be more family friendly and small dogs may not always love kids (generally speaking of course) but with cats, you truly never know. What you described with Spectre and Mina, that happened with my best friends’ cats as well. One went to get spayed and the other one absolutely lost her kitty mind. It’s hard because we can’t sit them down and say, okay they will be back, don’t worry!!! My goal with Mila is to make sure she can be around other animals, and not feel stressed or defensive, but also, she doesn’t have to interact fully either. She doesn’t seem super interested in other cats and I don’t push it - just kind of like everything else, I let her lead and I care take within her boundaries. She LOVES humans though, I’m going to get some video for everyone this coming week, we are living in an airbnb and the owners live here as well, a Colombian family, and they are just absolutely smitten by little mila. She walks in all the rooms, lays next to them, plays with them. We go to the park and she’ll let kids pet her, she’s engaged and active within the spaces. I think we all just want our sweet little pets to just have the best lives we can possibly give them.

@@milaandmelissa That is why Mila is a good choice for that sort of adventure. As she gets a little older, she may interact with other cats, but I am glad she interacts with humans so well. I think if I was healthier and able to be nomadic and such, Mink would have been the best pet for that, but I don't think she would have the same experience Mila is by a long shot. I definitely miss Mink. I'll probably never see another kitten like her in the remainder of my life on earth.
