Great review of the two months. Financially, $4400 in fuel (at high prices) and $1000 in lodging is about $2700 per month. Plus you have food and admission costs that you would often have anyway. That is really not bad for the adventures you had and the memories you have built. A privacy curtain should be in the next rig though. Can't wait to see where you take us next. Blessings and safe travels.

I'm so glad you enjoyed our state. I live about a mile away from Seacliff and I wished I knew you were in the area. We walk that beach often. In these times when politics seem to be dividing so many Americans, it saddens me when I read so many southerners say that they will ""never come to California". You did a great job at documenting what this state has to offer! And while this state is far from perfect, there are many places in the golden state that come close! Thank you again for making us look so good!

Great Season !! Loved it !! the family time while traveling , with the kids at the ages they are is priceless ! when I was a child we typically took 2 - two week trips a year , one to the New England states to visit family and the other to various other states south and west....some of my favorite childhood memories for sure!! You said it was about 5,500$ divided by 60 days would be 92.00$ a day... Definitely worth it to me!!

You guys are making families question whether they should get a C class RV and explore this beautiful country vs. going to Disney or some other vacation destination. Our daughter is grown up and my husband and I are traveling in our class A motor home. We traveled for a few years in our class C with our daughter and it brings you closer than any single epic vacation ever could. Love watching you guys and all your destinations.

Season 25 was epic! Living my dream! We are in the process of picking our first RV and what we can afford vs what we want doesn’t line up. Watching this convinced me the Class C is going to be the right one for us as my husband loves driving them and they fit our travel style and family well. I love the idea of a van but after watching you all in a van in HI and then watching you in the Class C. Mind changed for this season of life. Can’t wait to show my husband this video later this week.

This episode reminded me of taking my parents 23' Mini Wine, no slides, on a Dodge chassis from Indiana to South Dakota in the summer of '92 or '93. There was four of us which included 2 teenage Daughters. We were going to visit our oldest Daughter and family. We went up thru Wisc. to Frank Loyd Wrights place, House on the rocks, and other sights I have forgotten about now. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

Thank you SO much for showing the other layouts...I LOVE the murphy bed idea!!! That would be more perfect for us...but then, we don't have kids with us. And $5,500 is about the cost for a family of 4 at Disneyworld for a week if you count airfare. I'd rather spend 2 months in a place and really explore!

Try a Winnebago View - our pick for the perfect Class C! I've loved this season and love that you've shown the RV world how great "small" can be. The ONLY thing we don't like about our View is not being able to feed a crowd inside but that's why we have a 12'x12' Clam Quickset. You're so right about the ease of moving with a Class C. We pull in, plug in, hit the levelers and we're done. "Small" is not for everyone, but it's perfect for us! We came from a pop-up to a big truck camper (which is still small to most, LOL!) to the Winnebago View on the Sprinter chassis. Thanks for this fun and informational season. Can't wait for the upcoming seasons. You guys are great!

I really like that floor plan. No slide is good. No worries about malfunctions and parking lot camping is easier. I travel alone so that there’s plenty of room in that motor home. I had a class C and towing a vehicle with a tow bar was a pain. If you get into a situation where you have to back out you have disconnect the car, back out and reconnect the car. Moral of the story, don’t go where you can get out going forward! Gas mileage is also a consideration. A big class C you can expect to get 8 MPG. I have a Tacoma with a Lance trailer and get 11-13 mpg which doesn’t sound like a big difference but on a cross country trip it’s several hundred dollars. I have a Thousand Trails membership with a trails collection. Over a three month trip I paid for sites less than 10 nights.

I was so inspired at the beginning of your trip that my husband and I took a spontaneous trip to Jedediah Smith and Humboldt state parks to see the Redwoods. We left our travel trailer at home. Threw a tent in the car and off we went. We hadn't tent camped in years. 3,000 miles round trip. It was a grand adventure! Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you for your review of the 24 footer I have a class C 28 foot and it’s just me my husband passed last year so it’s just me and I just got this couple months after he passed and I love it. I haven’t done my traveling in it yet I’ve only gone between Washington state and down Lancaster, California But I love the space and I took out my stove and oven because I wanted more counter space in the kitchen and I took out the overhead cupboards in the kitchen. I have a corner kitchen in here, and I took the upper cupboards out because they just were two in my face and they weren’t They look like more of a collectible spot instead of something that could be organized, so I put open shelving on the walls instead there and the cupboards from that cupboard the cupboard doors from the cupboard up above that I took out. I use those cupboard doors down below where the oven was. I built a tea spot there where I use the cupboard doors so now it’s just looks like the cabinetry is the same at Mount all matches and so for the counter that went where the stove top was I did a piano hinge back further closer to the back wall so 4 inches of Counter and then I did a piano hinge so I could lift the front part of my counter up to access that large space where the oven was and I could put my larger kitchen appliances down in there and still have my all my counters space I didn’t want the oven and range top because I didn’t want all those things having to use propane I wanted propane either for my heat or for the refrigerator if that was needed. I also removed the dinette section because I didn’t need that opposing bench seat since it’s just me so I took all that out and gained so much more floor space back and I installed a 6 foot long butcher block counter under that window and now I just pull a really comfortable chair up to it and it’s just so opened up and I took all the carpet out and put in vinyl plank flooring, I did all this myself. I’m gonna be 69 this year and I did it last year and I’m still working on a couple things in here but getting rid of that dinette was great.

Wonderful recap, and review of your Class C travel! I've been thinking about a class C for ages because we have a 27ft travel trailer, and live in Florida. But my family lives in Maine and we never haul it there because it's too big, doesn't fit in most if my family's driveways, there are lots of twisty turns, steep hills, etc. I'm thinking a class C is the way to go!!!

Wee loved our 25 foot C sadly during Covid it sit in storage In Florida for two years plus. Developed a leak in roof and found it last spring. Sold it cheap still looking in these inflated RV price days. Spent many a night in family drives, streets and yards. For the two of us it was perfect. It was a 1995.

We have owned 4 RVs and this last one is the Winnebago View "V". It's perfect for the two of us and our 2 dogs. We've gone 45,000 miles in less than 5 years. 12.5 mpg towing, 15-17 mpg not towing and a fabulous layout. What more can you ask for, LOL? We didn't want a dinette. When you turn the driver/passenger seats around, you have a great living area. Check them out.

That was so awesome! That was definitely a once in a lifetime trip. For moving frequently I totally agree with you on having a motorhome. Plus you can use the bathroom while traveling. No more pulling over every other exit for the bathroom. We have a 42' diesel pusher. After seeing some of those roads you were on I could easily see either renting a smaller Class C or maybe even buying one. We bought our motorhome at Lazydays. We absolutely love them. 🤗 FYI we get 7 to 7.5 mpg towing our Lincoln MKX. Last summer we started out at home in Florida. We went to Cheyenne Wyoming, Whichita Kansas, Oklahoma City and Memphis Tennessee. Fuel was cheaper then, but we still spent $2000 on fuel alone. So, yes! I would spend $4000 on a total trip for two months.

You are experiencing what we did in our 45+ years of Rv-n... As family size (number & physical) changes our Rv's changed. Not one size or type fits all. My issue with Murphy beds or some bdrm slide that requires the mattress to fold... they are very difficult if not imposable to change. We found regardless of RV we have to replace the factory mattress with a good one .

We started with a travel trailer then moved to a 42' 5th wheel and finally landed on a 32' Class C. The flexibility with the C is unbeatable. The slide is not a big deal at all, not sure what you guys are worried about. The difference in a longer chassis is easily worth any difficulty in driving/parking. Honestly if your towing a 5th wheel it is nothing to even worry about.

I been thinking about having no slide outs on our next trailer, our current one has two. The extra room is really nice, but you got to worry about if the slides outs are going to leak or malfunctions when your out on a trip. Then you also have to open them up some to go through the trailer if you forgot something. Some times I wonder if the slide outs really out weighs the pros vs the cons.

One small slide for man… one giant counter space for mankind! I liked that 27DSE… the inconvenience of doing the slides is way offset by the extra room. News flash… your kids are not getting smaller every day! LOL

Thanks for your videos. I loved watching all of your video while you were in the MInnie Winnie. I have a 2019 24ft MW also. We have done many renovations in it like adding a flip up counter, taking out the glass shower doors and a few other things. If you would like to see the video let me know. We have AG batteries with 190 watts of solar and a generator. One thing I want is to have our refrigerator hooked up to the inverter to run off the alternator when driving. Also, to put a spare tire rack on the back to get it out of the storage area underneath the coach. I have to have one welded on because I do pull a small car.

I drive a 27’ Winnebago Minnie Winnie (27Q) with a single dinette slide. Yes, there is a nice amount of extra floor space with the slide out - I could have a party! BUT, having the slide in does not block access or affect regular moving around traffic. I often don’t bother putting the slide out if I’m only stopping for a night. I think you guys are used to the slides in the 5th wheel, where it can totally block off essential areas. But depending on the layout, this often isn’t an issue in a Class C. Mine has a comfy walk-around queen bed (with no need for a slide back there), decent counter space in the galley and the passenger seat swivels. I admit, I use my oven as storage for bread and hamburger buns. 😄 Being cool and dark keeps bread good longer. 👍

You guys are back in your home state, and we are back in ours (California). We enjoyed seeing your part of the country, including Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mtns, but there is no place like home, right? Glad you had a fun and safe trip out here. Our mountains 🏔 are so different than your mountains. 💜. Glad we got to see them.

I'm a solo female just retired bought a 24 ft Coachman so for all you newbies without the knowledge or experience please check all your equipment!! I thought it would be standard equipment to have a spare tire and a water tank and it don't have either one of those so I overpaid for the RV and got surprises now that I'm living in it. It matters if you don't have a big savings account which I don't just want you to be aware please inspect the RV especially if you buy it from an individual!!

I always wonder why people are so concerned about slides. The added comfort is so worth it. In 20 years with two different units we have never had a slide problem. I keep them lubed and inspected but so far we have not had a problem. I made sure I learned how to get them in in case of a motor failure but have never had to deal with that issue. Thanks for the video.

One of our biggest things is the ability to move around inside when the slides are in. That is important to us so a thing we look for.

@@LessJunkMoreJourney That needs to be considered for sure. In my Monaco Knight nothing is restricted except the shoe cabinets. In my Arctic Fox fifth wheel the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were accessible. Some models however would be a great concern. Started watching your channel when you were driving in a rain storm in you Class A having some mechanical issues. Love your channel.

I don't know if you Don't thought of this or not but if you need lots of lots of space and privacy I recommend a pop-up truck camper and a rear bumper pull toy hauler or car hauler can do more I put lots of thought into this idea it's basically a fifth wheel scenario without the fifth wheel and depending on the bumper pull you pick it could be the same with as class C space you were bragging about and having two bathrooms two kitchens and not the storage basically your own bedroom space nobody's allowed in your space that would be nice to think and say but anyways that's my idea think about it if you want I'm thinking about class C with a bumper toy hauler or car hauler

On the bedroom slide, can you use the bed with the slide in? We had a 5th wheel we didn’t think it would matter that we couldn’t use the bedroom … but it did A LOT! In 6 months traded it in for a Class C Coachmen Leprechaun 319MB. LOVE IT!
@LessJunkMoreJourney

It depends on the model. Often in smaller RV the bed sort of folds up when the slide is in, so no in that case.

Loved the journey it looked epic! I just bought a new travel trailer and I have a Murphy bed in it which is new to me because my old trailer did not have one. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like having to drop the bed down every night but quite honestly it’s not a problem at all I just make it in the morning and close it up until the next night. I love having the couch and more space during the day. 👍🏻❤️🤩

If fuel cost hadnt gone up so high the class C would have made a huge difference just imagine using the 5th wheel probably worse mpg and also higher cost for lodging I think the glass C would be way cheaper

Thanks for the great share. My very first RV experience was a summer in a Class B+ in New Zeland. When I came home I focused in on a Winnebago View as my choice; however, when I got to the actual buying stage I went with an Airstream trailer. I have shared before that I believe the 25' Airstream model with couch is the best size. It has the benefits that you mention of being shorter. In my situation of being alone usually without children or others, the idea of accessing things inside is an irrelevant point as I have to stop anyway. I do believe that the shortest rig a person can work with the better it is overall. Oh, also, I must be in the minority but I find a propane range invaluable. I have a convection oven in my home and find it finicky for cooking.
@LowsJuan
@LowsJuan 2 жыл бұрын
You said you travel alone. As much as I think of a truck +trailer combo as being a great RV selection, I have always thought that trying to back up such, alone without a helper to be to risky. How do you cope? When Marissa or anybody talks of convection ovens I always wonder if they are speaking from actual use. Most of the units they put in RV's from what I have read are easily outdone by a simple $119 large toaster oven. In a national park who is going to run a generator for that long just to cook a frozen pizza? I do know that a lot of people have done just that and carry a toaster oven even though they their a pain to store. They also have full hookups most of the time.

We have a Class C Minnie Winnie 2018 24B . We travel with 2 adults and 2 dogs. We had to take to Ford Truck dealership in Las Vegas, NV for Cadillac Converter repair under warranty and has been in the shop since end of April and while there 3 months ago the Converter got stolen along with 10 other vehicles and has been on " national backorder" since then. When and If we ever get it repaired when we get it home in Pahrump, NV will take to another shop and have cage welded around it to prevent theft in the future. We are hoping we can take a fall trip if we get it back and will park for the winter. We have had some very enjoyable trips since we purchased it in 2019, and have been where you just were on the California Coast and also stayed at Seaside Campground by the Ocean. By the way Great Videos. :)
