Grear review of your patriot camper, did think about of these, very well made, great storage, but just out of my price range. Hate to say it here, did go for the Chinese made MDC Highside and it been fantastic, very little problem, of course done some mods, but it's the setup time of your Patriot and that roof top tent, that's awesome. We also wanted internal living space and the Highside has a great little dining room in bad weather and when you are camping, there is always bad weather. But still love the Patriot campers.

One of the best vids about a Patriot camper. How is the dust proofing as I fail to see how those over center clamps manage to put positive pressure on a rubber seal?
@DanieSimpson Жыл бұрын
I really appreciate that thank you. yes has brilliant dust sealing, as tough as the over centre latches can be to open and close sometimes it does mean that when closed against the significantly sized seal nothing gets in.

We just upgraded from the 2017 X1 GT to a 2022 X1N. Absolutely love it but I must admit, I am upset with the awning. Although it's easier and quicker to set up, the slightest breeze makes it flap heaps and the Velcro bits come off. It also leaks in the rain. I wish patriot would happily fix this. I got the trailer 2nd hand so I guess they wouldn't even warrant it. Keep up the good work!
@DanieSimpson2 жыл бұрын
I agree, the X2 had a supapeg awning and I do much prefer that awning. It took longer to set up but had a heavier duty canvas that stayed down in poor weather. I would love to see them revise the awning in the future

Hi Danie Merry Christmas to You and Family I just wanted to ask you have you ever considered selling your land cruiser because i have an 80 series land cruiser with the works on it plus a new engine and its for sale. But that not why i am getting in touch with you the real reason is to see if you consider a change like i did i went and bought a Suzuki Jimny 1998 model not the later ones way to expensive i then went all out and fitted bull bar a winch a tow bar and hooked up my tear drop camper and traveling around Australia at the moment and i just wanted to point out the cost of running my 80 is three time that of the Jimny by far. And if you read up on the jimny Suzuki took the plans of an 80 series and scaled every thing down and so was born the jimny. the front locker are interchangeable yeah the new hubs for the 80 fit the jimny go figer anyway have ranted on to much just thought you should consider the change like i did and i found it to be way more fun too than the 80 and much cheaper too Run is a bonus Thanks for your vids to there great from this 70 year old you girls rock.

If you talk about high prices of Australian made products, then I think Government is not to blame for 100% of it. If is something made in China, it's cheap because they have very low production costs due to low wages as one part. I guess we could have the same prices for Australia made if people who are making stuff get paid $10 instead of $50+ (sparkie, boilermakers) and not asking for pay rise every 6 months. But I guess nobody wants that, right? Look at boilermaker. Ask him to weld you some small bracket or whatever else, he will tell you $100 right away just because it will be Australia made or you could buy EXACTLY the same bracket for $20 with Made in China sticker. I guess you will go and buy that cheaper one. Anyway, may not be 100% true, but we still want to get pay more every week and pay less for what we buy.

@@ondrejmarko01 mate Australia sells its iron ore to China only to buy back steel when it could be made in Australia. They tried to blame the rise in fuel over what is happening in Europe. The gov gives away free money to the jobless like it’s nothing while taxing the people who work. The gov gives away hundreds of million per year to other countries and don’t ask for it back, when instead that money could be spent on Australian taxpayers who fund that money. The list goes on but the stupidest thing is Australia is so rich in natural resources yet the government act like Australia couldn’t survive on its own. A little bit of investment into the country and a lot of problems will be solved. But politicians are too busy lining their own pockets doing back door deals setting themselves for when they leave. All politicians do is invest your money and they way they do it now is only to benefit themselves. If it wasn’t the case then there would be much stricter laws on political corruption, which there isn’t. Don’t bother defending them when they don’t defend you.

People are quick to complain when companies leave Australian manufacturing eg: cars But those same people are buying the cheap Chinese products. Everyone wants Aussie manufacturing bit don't want to pay for it. What's annoying is when a product is Australian made, but it's cheaper to buy overseas than in Australia.
