reduce the size of the battery to save space in the engine compartment. I have been using an 18ah varta agm battery on my 100hp for over 2 years and it works great.

Put a ball of stainless steel wool as high as you can fit into the container. It gives the catch can more surface area. Must be stainless steel and not coated in any kind of detergent 👍

How do you mean more surface area?
@Pandamime3 жыл бұрын
As in it catches more of the bad oil?

@@Pandamime more surface area for the vapor and oil to stick to. Have a quick look on google 👍

Got ya. My only problem with that is that it will occupy more space. Currently the can fills up with about half the cup of water already after 200km. I may end up getting a bigger can...

Hi nice work first od all.. is there a reason why you installed an oil catch can
@Pandamime2 жыл бұрын
Let me tell you, the amount of gunk that the engine produces I am not surprised that TJets come from factory with a catch can. This method though returns a lot more of the built up condensation produced in the engine along with the contaminants

Does mayo not mean head issues?
@Pandamime3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes. If you see that your coolant level is dropping and no water on the floor then you may have a cracked head gasket. In my case though, it's condensation. It happens on all engines especially if you car doesn't get driven a lot for long periods of time. That's why there is so much clear water in the catch can as well as oil
@0zeroeffort Жыл бұрын
So how is your oil catch can doing after 2 years?
@Pandamime Жыл бұрын
Sadly after moving to Germany and attempting to register the car there, I've had to remove the can. But I can definitely say for the time I did have the can, it has been absolutely essential! After about a month the can is filled with so much crud. I genuinely recommend anyone with a TJet, to install a catch can. It is super helpful.

Personally I haven't tried it but it probably does because usually you have the decanter there anyway. Can't say for certain!

Do you think there is a need for check valve before or after catch can, since its boosted engine?
@Pandamime10 ай бұрын
What kind of check valve?
@radake9 ай бұрын
air check valve, that lets air circulate only in one way... i noticed that some people add check valves to their catch can setups @@Pandamime
@Pandamime9 ай бұрын
In my experience it hasn't been necessary. Maybe if there is a lot of vacuum but probably not necessary for a base TJet

There is a little slipping but I think my clutch is the original clutch. I have had my release bearing go bad a few years ago and tried to do the clutch swap myself on the ground but ended up bending the new clutch making it useless so still have the same old clutch in there :/
