Is A Longtail Mud Motor A Thing Of The Past?

Long tail excels in shallow water with hard bottom and bump grind areas. There are certain areas that I cannot go with my GTR where my long tail used to go into with no issues.

No doubt! There is still a place for a LT. Its the best all around in my opinion, although its rougher on the body. Lol

I have them both a Long Tail first for several years and love it just like you say can get in shallower water the only good thing on my Surface Drive is long runs but not in as shallow of water Enjoyed it. Oh my Longtail is a Go-devil 25 hp. the Surface is a Copperhead 23 hp.

Appreciate the feedback Chuck. Both of your engines you have had, I hear nothing but good things about. Copperhead been reliable for you? Those little motors are cool. What size boat do you run it on?

Never b a thing of the past Mud motors will stay To many people building there own Great alternative Outboards are like pickups now, overpriced
