London to Liverpool is only a 2 1/2 hour train ride. Is it worth it to take a short overnight trip?

One correction (as a local): at 0:37 "we decided to stop at the Liverpool Cathedral." There's two cathedrals. This is the Anglican (Church of England) Cathedral, finally completed in the 1970s. There's also the cone shaped Roman Catholic Cathedral, built 1960s, affectionally also known as 'The Mersey Funnel' (because we also have The Mersey Tunnels) or 'Paddy's wigwam'.

I live in the midlands and would love to visit Liverpool. It’s got so much heritage and many sights. Unfortunately there are many homeless, but if you walk round at night you will see how much the people of Liverpool come together to help those in need. There enthusiasm is infectious and they need so much recognition for they do. I will find a link and post it.

@@tazzatamania sorry Maybe my comment wasn’t clear, my fault, it’s my age unfortunately. What I should have said was that I can’t get there even though I would love to. I am in my 60’s and mobility is an issue. I should have visited in the past when I was younger and more agile. We have so many homeless where I live, but they are in the city. When I do get help to go into the city I take my time to chat to some of them and I take some clothes that people have donated if I have any. I always try to offer a drink and cola or orange are firm favourites or coffee with which I pick up a lot of sugar sachets, I know that certain addictions cause them to need a lot of sugary items, apparently it helps while they are waiting For their next fix. I May be in my more mature years but I still work part time from home and I do try and learn about the different effects each drug has etc. I never give money but being a smoker I will always offer a cigarette or 2. I have been through some things in life that led me down a dark path, but I am ok now. I understand why a lot of the homeless are addicted to something. It is an escape, but then there is the escape from addiction and that is the most horrific thing to go through. I thank Hod everyday for saving me because I know that I would have died a long time ago if it were not for my faith. Now that’s just me and that’s all I’m prepared to say about myself, I agree it is different for many others. One thing I am not and that is Judgemental. To many people in this world today are and it is such a shame, if they were to walk a mile in the travels of the past of these people with addictions, I wonder how they would cope. I do understand that a lot of people also do not get it and will walk past an addict and say Something horrible, it’s because they just Don’t know why, I thank God that they don’t and I pray for their hearts to be softened towards the homeless. It’s all I can do. Sorry for rambling on. I don’t sleep to well and it’s lonely at nights. But I have a roof over my head and a warm little bungalow, I am truly blessed.
