Instead of buying a cabin in the countryside, my solution is to rent little cottages in nature for a month (wich is much less expensive than renting by nignts. And I spend one month here, one month there. It will take many years before I reach the price of a cabin I would buy myself! And I can change places! I walk in nature, contemplate its beauty, make videos on you Tube, draw, paint, write, read... Perfect for me! I come back to my small appartment to change the content of my suitcase, spend a few days to prepare my next trip, etc... Of course, I can do this because I am retired from my job, and have no familly charges... But I enjoy this way of life, and I'm gratefull I can live this way....

That sounds fantastic! 😍 Actually quite a bit like what I'm doing at the moment. Especially the possibility to change places but still be in beautiful rural locations is such a plus 😍

Sounds lovely. I was thinking of doing this with my tent over the summer. My husband and I work part-time and can work the same 2 days a week so we could camp somewhere in the countryside not too far away, then drive back home for the two days we need to go to work. Keep the tent on the campsite.

THANK YOU! Finally, someone addressed the elephant in the room. So far, the only people on KZbin that talked about slow living, and minimalism were rich. Of course, they can afford to slow down and lay on a beach. Most of the world is hustling just to survive. I'm glad there are other thoughts to consider regarding "simple living." Now, what about slow living? So tired of always rushing to go somewhere .

Yes they say people are working to buy gucci bags.. no mate its to afford shelter and pay bills…

I'm happy to hear you appreciate this video! Yes, slowing down is so difficult when you constantly have to rush. I made a video about the topic, not sure if you watched that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2jZhH54pK-ZfLs But still - there are only 24 hours in a day and for many of us it is not realistic to spend hours painting or cooking or going for walks in nature.

We bought our own house a few years ago. And we have a tiny garden. I have to use boxes with soil to spread the territory to grow herbs and vegetables. Spring planning is one of my favorite seasonal traditions ❤

Living simple is a matter of degrees, ranging from the homeless person who lives day by day looking for a hand out, or doing odd jobs, to a privileged well to do that wants a change from their extravagant life style. I fall somewhere in between. For me I had to work pretty hard all my life to get and enjoy my simple life I have now. A roof over my head, good, nutritious food and an escape from too many responsibilities is all I desire now. I try to be satisfied and make do with what I have, rather than to always have more things, better accommodations, or expensive items..
@livelikeliz8 ай бұрын
I think this is a very healthy way of approaching life 😊 The ability to be satisfied with what we have is, in my opinion, a major foundation of happiness 😊

I live in a busy town in a traditional 2 up 2 down vicotarian terrace house a small back garden surrounded by cars and people, and i live in a sustainable way its an attitude a mindset where I make choices to reduce the hustle and bustle to quieten the outside noise and also the internal noise which I believe is the root of our understanding of what a simple living means to us its a practice of gratitude and an appreciation of how to make the best of any given personal circumstance you can balance urban life with simplicity

We rented the same for a while, was the most favourite place for my husband where we lived. Currently in an easy to clean 2 bed flat, but other issues have robbed us of the "simple life"

The start of the video with the images of the wood, the nature, the sounds of the birds and this cute little house...just WOW! 😀 Not that the whole video was not amazing but the intro was something else! ❤ As you said money gives us stability and to feel safe but for a simple life it's not what it matters the most! Rich or poor or somewhere in the middle we can still live a simple life even in countryside or in the city because it's about the mindset and the choices we make of how we want to live our life's! Sorry if I use some of the things you said but it's because I agree with everything! 😅🙃 I think I fell in love with this little cute house and I hope we can see it again in one of your future videos! 😁

Thank youuuu 🥰🥰🥰 So happy to hear you agree 😊 Yes, this place is super beautiful and peaceful and right by the forest 😊 The next video will feature this tiny house as well! Soon I'll be filming in the coziest tiny house by a lake, so excited for this 😁

I remember you mentioned looking for a little cottage 😊 Don't give up, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! 💖 The meal is my potato and chickpea stew. It's very simple, but so delicious! It's just potatoes, sweet potatoes, chickpeas and tomatos, some veggie broth, nutmeg and paprika powder. So easy to make, yet sooo delicious 😊

I sometimes dream of a simple life in the countryside, but here in the Netherlands you best best is in the middle of the city as you can do anything on a bicycle, as you have access to nature (our city park is usually in better condition than the countryside sqeeuzed between pig farms), organic food, culture, basically everything. We have a rather small but new row house, with an extremely low mortgage and energy bill from the previous economic dip, so it enables us with a family of four to do everything from 2,5+2,5 work days (my husband and I work different days), so no childcare and other tax monstrocities messing up. Maybe you can find a translation of Barbara Stok's adventures (graphic novel), she masters the simple life in the city. If the kids go out at 18, we will try the countryside variant when we hopefully have more time to grow own crops and do more house maintanance ourselves.
@livelikeliz8 ай бұрын
That sounds like you managed to find a fantastic solution, even in the city! I'll check out Barbara Stok's adventures, thanks for recommending it! 😊🌼

@@livelikeliz Oh and we moved the cabin inside our city house..... Oak flooring downstairs, simple pine planks as floors on the upper levels, and a huge cube covered in small wooden strips that holds the storage and toilet instead of walls and doors. Next up is a detached office/music studio cabin in the back of the garden, again all wood, with a greenhouse on top and a food garden as patio between the main house and the cabin. The basement ideally will containa a 30m3 water buffer to transfer heat from the summer to the winter to make it semi off-grid.
