It's amazing how many people assume Im only interested in Fords when I get out and about to film videos. I can appreciate ALL cars and I'd love to feature a wider range of cars on this channel (although with the non-Fords the owners need to be willing to talk on camera and show us round the car because I don't really know what Im looking at) 👍

Great video. Definitely the red RS for me out of the 2, as i prefer red, white or yellow on a RS. Im afraid i can't stand pale blue! I have to admit that with all the dust and crap that flies round a working garage like this I'd keep the windows closed for the sake of the cars interior, especially the series 2 RS. That car you called a rolls royce was actually a Daimler. I would'nt say no to the high lift landy as well as the white and red RS's.

When they were new and in production the Chevette was 100% better than MK2 Escort which were OK but so basic and unrefined, we worked for Chubb and they had over 1,000 vehicles, at first mostly Ford but then we got the Chevette was was so much more upmarket and quite and with Go Kart like handling . After the Chevette we moved on to MK1 Astras which wiped the Floor with even the MK3 Escort

Handling wise a kadett/chevette saloon is better than an escort mk2. Rear end is Cart horse on an escort vs springs/shocks on a chevette? Only the rally escorts that didn't have leaf springs.

I have seen a rover V8 in a chevette, so docile to drive his wife drove it for the shopping, but if you pressed the loud pedal it shifted, had to fit limited slip dif...

Chevette's were not independent rear suspension, but they were coil sprung. Im a fan of those and the HC Viva/Magnum/Firenzas, but better than Escorts??? Its horses for courses IMO!! DTV did not spend nowhere near as much money on completion use as Ford, so the Escort become the more popular car. "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday", which was Fords mantra in the USA and this translated over to the UK.

I prefer the blue 2000, talking about the Chevette, here in my country (Uruguay) we have like a cult follow for Escort's and English cars in general and the Chevette was made in Brazil as a Chevrolet and sold here imported from Brazil, so here people basically laugh about Chevette's and admire Escort's but I think they are both awesome and stock vs stock the Chevette has a better suspension setup, so is about perspective and what you believe, Escort's are seen like a sport car (They race Escort's here on the track and mainly on rally back in the day and was very successful) so the Chevette is just a mundane car for people, cheap disposable transportation, not so bad considering that a very good Chevette costs half the price of a bad Escort.
