Is Ableton Dropping a New Machine? Ableton Move Oct 8th Speculations

Think Move is gonna be a small portable interface with a computer and battery in it that runs a version of Ableton Note. A Note interface, but with knobs, pads, faders. A sketchpad, with instruments like drum sampler at the forefront of it. Think they’ll build on their WiFi environment, so that it can work well with Push and Live on a computer.

Class 9 is very diverse, it also includes computer software and fire extinguishers, among other things. I think it’s a full body suit for controlling midi that’s used with a vr headset so you can make fart sounds and record body movements to make such sounds..it’s really going to change the game esp if it’s battery powered

Something the size of the Polyend Tracker with Push style screens? I love my Push 3 standalone. But it just "ain't that portable". I traveled with it once. Made 3 usable tracks when chilling in my hotel room. But the idea of casually traveling (flying) with $2000 worth of gear was unnerving. I repurchased a Tracker because I missed mine. I take that with me everywhere! A smaller Push with fewer features would be welcomed. Basically, NOTE and PUSH merged. Could that be what MOVE is? NOTE, in a box? 😮

I was just searching for a smaller 16 pad style Ableton live controller and this popped up. I was looking at the nektar Aruba and presonus atom, neither cut it really. I'd be happy if they keep many small grid pads, or went with larger 16 mpc style pads. Just as long as it's more portable, smaller and plenty of knobs!!! And lets us control the session view and drum rack (and hopefully has some deeper drum rack editing integration). Unfortuantly, knowing my luck, they're coming out with some dumb wii controller for motion control of your synths 🙄

Eurorack interface sequencer would be cool. Motorized fader mixer version of the push that is also standalone seems most likely.

It is hard to guess having just "Move" name, but it could be Theremin style musical instrument? But I don't think the name is that literal. I hope it is a groovebox in sort of Yamaha's SeqTrack territory, but chances are low. All in all let's wait.

Hoping for something that is meant to sit alongside Push and complement it, something more focused on mixing and arrangement, while push is for sequencing and playing. I know everyone is all about portability, but it seems like a dumb move to me for Ableton to release something like a year after Push 3 that sort of competes with their own device, ie, more portable, watered down Push. I'm hoping that, if they were committed to the vision of Push as the flagship hardware experience, the focus is on refining and expanding what that can be, rather than a curveball. We will se.

If it isn't a phone app, which I still believe it is, then I hope its some form of device to help arrangement view. Fundamentally, live had two views. One where you push clip buttons to activate them, and one where you move clips on the grid to create your song. Its by far the most logical road for them to go down.

someone speculated on a forum the promo pic has the squiggly graffiti type art which could be previews of the motions you can input with this device. Kind of cool. A Roland MV-1 type device but Ableton would be my literal dream. Here's to hoping
