It baffles me that people still think they can ask a politician a question and get an honest answer. The Australian public are like the victim that keeps trusting their aggressor.

I didn't know Queensland had made abortion illegal until December 2018.
@Shiggystardust22 күн бұрын
Abortion was not illegal until 2018 Queensland was lawful only where it was necessary to preserve the life of the woman or to protect her from danger to her physical or mental health. However, it was common for doctors to ‘turn a blind eye’ to abortions performed that were not strictly ‘necessary’ in accordance with the legal test. Women were also able to obtain the abortion pill by mail order, despite the existence of criminal laws in the state. Doctors had long been calling for the law to be changed so that these measures would no longer be necessary

Why do you think they have youth crime waves now...a bunch of bad parents were forced to have kids that they eventually neglected or abused...you'd think they'd learn and move on to more important issues to fix but Queenslanders are still trying to get politicians to revert things.

If it’s a conscious vote, then every member can vote like they want. Understand that. Then answer the question. David has said he won’t introduce it, so if you vote kater it will be introduced and Labor/LNP/Indp and Katers can vote how they like. So vote carefully.

It’s a very simple question and 100% applicable to ask the question of any LNP member whether state or federal. The answer you give is that should the Katter party put it as a private members bill, the party will whip its members to vote against the repeal bill. They can’t say that because they know that so many of their candidates and members are extreme Christian fundamentalist right wingers who will vote as they wish. They have no discipline on this issue and it’s just shows how weak Crisafulli is. The LNP should not be voted into power. They are dangerously extreme.

The abortion laws and nuclear energy laws will be key policies of the 2025 Federal election! Both these areas are key pillars of the 2025 Coalition election policy! The LNP has a very powerful extremist Christian far right faction that will take this members bill to the QLD Parliament!

You have to balance the rights of the women with the rights of the unborn. In a perfect world there wouldn't be any abortions, in our world I would prefer to see as few as possible, I'm trying to consider the rights of both and speak up for those that can't speak for themselves, the weak and the helpless. I can accept for some the question of when life starts is a grey area, but the longer the pregnancy progresses the more black and white it is that it's a human life. The images of abortions are troubling, we should treat the issue with the seriousness it deserves, not flippantly.

So many different reasons that abortion and reproductive healthcare should not be illegal, miscarriages would be deemed illegal, ectopic pregnancy pre eclampsia where both mother and baby die, if abortion is banned drs are restricted from helping, what's next not allowing contraception
@raymondingram253924 күн бұрын
Abortion should be banned after 3 months, if you can't get one in 3 months time then that is your fault not the babies, the only other time it should happen after 3 months is when the woman's life is in danger, there should always be comprises on both sides.

Nope. Access to abortion no exceptions. Should be easy to access up to 20 weeks at least (preferably 24). And then after that - like it already is - in special considerations consulting multiple doctors and the parents. You know - again, how it already is. Because if you look at America, doctors are not safe from persecution unless they are aiding someone who is literally at. De*ths. Door. Also why is it only if the life of the mother is at risk... and nothing to do with how the baby will be born. Do you actually not care about the condition an infant will be born into? (I can answer that for you. It's yes) And what about health of the mother? Sounds like you don't actually care, except that you want control over other people, who's medical conditions are none of your business. Raymond. If you can't carry. Then shut up.

This is about chipping away at women's rights and bodily autonomy and the kind of standing the LNP believes a woman should have in our society. I am personally against abortion but I understand that life is messy and nobody has the right to impose their views on how another person might see things or the nuance in their life, especially when it comes to such an important matter and what it means for our culture, society and nation. Many who think a woman shouldn't have the right to choose also believe that a woman's "place" is in the kitchen and we shouldn't have the right to vote. Many have crazy biblical views about the world and would like to also chip away at the boundaries between church and state, they're already hard at work in this respect. You cannot trust conservatives on a matter like abortion or women's rights.
