Great video! Thank you, the world needs such in-depth views into scientific research :))

Thanks, it's pretty hard to get any objective info on the topic, because most people are either dead set on proving it's right or on proving it's garbage, without resonable analysis and some research explaination. Even if there is a research on some topic, for a person not knowing the subject well, it's really hard to judge, if it has been done correctly or not. There are also some cultural differences, like for example a lot of Chinese research being clearly done in favour of things like accupuncture or cupping therapy, simply because it's the part of the culture.

Not true, plethora of trials done.. I will not go into all of them, but a good video on youtube is- "Junk Science Episode 11: Acupuncture"

I was always very unsure about acupuncture until I witnessed it in an animal rescue centre. A fox was completely calm, acting pain free and not moving its lower body during an operation to treat its broken leg. The fox was too unstable to risk standard anaesthetic. Even restraints and attempting to handle a wild fox prior to acupuncture was not achievable to an extent that would allow the vet to perform the operation safely on the animal. It was only after a specialist acupuncturist inserted the needles were we able to treat the fox successfully.

May I ask how they could put acupuncture needles into a "FOX" and not be able to find an effective anaesthetic? Or maybe even just Sedate the fox? Hell, why use acupuncture instead of a sedative. And may I ask how the Specialist knew a fox's "special points"? An animal, I am not shitting you; they would have never studied.

@@harald7309 they were a trained veterinary doctor with a specialism in acupuncture. The fox was too unstable to risk traditional sedation as the side effects of sedation include further reducing blood pressure and bradycardia. The approach was to briefly withstrain the fox using approved methods during the insertion of the acupuncture needles (a few minutes) from which point the fox was calm enough to complete the medical procedure. It was fascinating and hard to believe.

This is not the method of science to deduct conclusions like this
@marcusmiller82672 жыл бұрын
@@littlevoice_11 I think your observations are valuable. As Habeeb points out, they don't pass the test of proving a scientific theory. But that wasn't what you were doing. You were merely describing a procedure that you found fascinating. I found your observations fascinating as well. Thanks for sharing!

@Habeeb al Rahman my comment on this video is not meant to be a scientific conclusion. It is merely expressing an experience that was fascinating to observe and also happens to correlate with some points made in this video.

that would be cool to leave the articles in the description

Elaborate Placebo %100...Never underestimate the power of placebo's...Way to many rigoureuse Trials done on the subject that prove it to be the case..

If acupuncture is an effective placebo, then perhaps substitute it for a less invasive placebo!

I love the optimism that he would ever fact check his own work. Academics are heavily driven by ego and a desire to obtain funding. The vast majority of the time, they go into these studies with the intention of proving an already existing belief and lo and behold they find a way to get there. Acupuncture is nonsense obviously because it is built on the foundation of chi energy. To say "well maybe it works accidentally some other way" is hilarious honestly.

The minute I saw this face talking I know for sure he ultimately will say placebo and do some magic words here and there just to make the message easy to digest and accept to hocus'pocus boo'boo talk towards tcm. How silly. Not a word about treating animals and babies with pain.
