It's like when I'd go to Sam's Club with my dad and find nothing but Conker's Bad Fur Day all over their video game section for $10-15. The game never interested me back then, but damn that would've been the time to snag it.

SmaMan That's how I got Conkers BFD. On the other hand, I passed up Secret of Mana at $39 and Snatcher at $16. Even though I loved the former, I had moved on to PSX games (early 96)...which are all worth next to nothing now.

Sonic Wings Special on PS1 is still my favorite vertical scrolling shooter ever. Countless times we beat that game with friends with all characters. As well as a lot of times I booted up that disc just to play on my own for 20-30 minutes and stayed up playing for 2-3 hours, because it is so addictive. I love how it doesn't throw you into a bullet hell situations on the second minute of first level. This game has a perfect difficulty curve, which grows steadily with each level and boss. 600$+ is definitely not a worthy price for any game period. That's why this game should be re-released on modern consoles, so that many more people could experience it.

I am really thankful for this channel. The Snes is the greatest console ever to me. I am surprised it did not sell more than 100mil because back then it seemed a lot bigger than it was. I was, and still kinda am, a Snes fanboy. I subscribed to a lot of the magazines like Nintendo Power, Electronic gaming monthly, and Game informer. Such great memories. My first console was an Atari 2600 btw. That will give you a good idea of how old I am.

2:43 - It's actually whenever you run out of lives on later levels in general (depending on the difficulty). If you have to continue on any of the first 4 levels, you're usually ok, but they throw that in on difficulty to, as you said, pad out the length of the game.

Scrooge McDuck money bin is right. I never had a SNES growing up and recently got one from a friend in exchange for fixing his car, and when I ran to Craigslist/Offer Up/EBay/etc. to look for games to buy was floored at the prices of a lot of the games. It was like a kick to the family jewels. Here I finally had the console I never did and I still wouldn't be able to play the games XD Welp, I guess it's emulator for me, but at least the console makes for nice decor :P

There's actually a secret 5th pair of fighter jet that can be actually be unlocked with a code that you get when you beat the game on the highest difficulty, and believe it or not it's a pair of flying rabbits with broken but amazing abilities and not to mention they're so small, fairly fast and very agile that dodging is so easy, And there is also another code that unlocks a boss rush mode, where you face all the bosses in one game except the final bosses, you can get the when you play as the secret fighter jet

I remember renting this game a lot and seeing multiple copies of this at my rental stores and the arcade cabinet at 2 different restaurants; this being at a back woods small town, so I never thought this game to be rare (maybe new in box, but I don't see the point of those if you actually want to play games). Maybe a case of artificial inflation?

It's a neat game, but these prices are way out of line. This game...a loose copy was $30-50, a complete copy was around $100. Now people are asking for over $10,000 for it. I've played it and I gotta tell you, for 20 minutes of entertainment, you can spend that kind of money on something else.

Those are inflated prices but a lot of idiots that now believe that the trash they found in their closet is pure gold, hence the overprice in all retro console products. That you see a lot of inflated prices on Ebay and similars does not mean that anybody is paying for that.

This is one of those games I always bring up when a Sega fanboy says "the SNES doesn't have any good shooters", along with Axelay, Spriggan powered, Super SWIV and maybe Super Aleste (I say "maybe" because I'm not a big fan of it, I don't see what makes it so special, but since a lot of people love it so much...)

Nice, Macross is one of the best on Snes, R-type 3 is very polished, but can be frustrating. Michirin9801 I like Aleste because of the detailed graphics, it was a big deal for Snes at the time because of the lack of slowdown, I also like the long stage length, it felt like I got my moneys worth at the time. I can understand not enjoying it much though, it has different pacing than most others. Pop'n twinbee is another high-quality top down shooter for Snes.

How many coop shmups are there on the SNES? I know there's Firepower 2000 and if you count games like Super Smash TV. I tested out Aero Fighters, I found it easier using the plane that shoots from both the front and back. You can also do a roll if your getting hit with heavy fire, then the bullets don't hit. I think what really makes it stand out on the SNES is the choice of 4 planes and the coop. It seems like a good game to pick up and play in short burst. Even the Genesis didn't have many coop shmups. They had Vapor Trail, Forgotten Worlds, Air Buster, and probably the best one on that system is Bio Hazard Battle. You should do some review of those too!

We would've have never been able to appreciate a lot of these games without the emu communities and channels like yours bringing awareness to these forgotten/overlooked classics. I love how retro purists want people to play games on the original hardware when a lot of these old games are beyond unaffordable for most people. I was just looking up the prices for the DS Pokemon games a few hours ago and came to the cruel realization that loose Platnium copies are going for almost $100! It's hilarious seeing people want $40 just for the box! I bought Soulsilver back when it came out (Still have the game.) and am sad that I threw away the box! This port is a nice collectible and nothing else when it can be easily emulated nowadays. Wish retro games would cool down, prices have skyrocketed for old stuff since 2010 and don't show any signs of slowing down!

Its Aero Fighters 2, but there's a bunch of similar missions on it. It's on the eshop for like 8 bucks.

Had no problem selling this game for the going rate on eBay. I love collecting games but there's nothing that special about this one.

Hey, Drunk! I've got a game recommendation for you: Tyrian 2000. It isn't on the SNES, so maybe you can do a Steamdrunk (GOGdrunk?) of it. It was made by Epic and is my favorite shump of all time. I'd be curious to get your take on it. You can download it for free from GOG.
