Those "ideas" you speak of are not the result of understanding or comprehension but of an immensely complex pattern matching system based on which text is most likely to follow from the previous text. It is highly likely that anything novel it's giving you is just a description of an existing idea. At no level is the system forming comprehension. Not only does it not have the means to do so built-in, it is plainly obvious that it hasn't developed the means emergently just from the observable issues when you try to treat it like an intelligent being. Einstein was a human being with a brain operating on a much higher level of complexity than any current AI system. This is not a virtual brain. Go read "On The Dangers of Stochastic Parrots".

@@mattyspaghetti449 Machine learning is certainly a potential ingredient to creating actual, functional AI, but on it's own it's nothing more than a calculation. A very complex and sophisticated calculation, of course, but at the end of the day, all chatbots and the like do is calculate the most likely "correct" answer based on the variables presented to it. It's not even forming a coherent sentence or even considering the logic or purpose behind it, which is how you end up with misshapen multi-fingered hands; the "AI" isn't trying to create a hand, it's generating a finger next to another finger, because it's been told that is where fingers belong. They get it. I'm glad that this video doesn't fall into the trap that right-wingers set when they use the word 'Woke'.
@allthenewsordeath5772
@allthenewsordeath5772 2 ай бұрын
I am a right winger and I’m typically pretty conservative with my usage of the term pardon the pun, while woke can be used to blanketly encompass most facets of critical theory be it historical, economic, racial, etc., I think it more apt to describe it as The sort of self-serving largely performative socially left wing activism that corporations have been undertaking for utterly inexplicable reasons for the last 10 years or so. My hope though is that eventually this evolves into more conservatives seeing that big business can be and often is just as destructive to human flourishing as big government.
@g_4784
@g_4784 2 ай бұрын
"Woke" is not a trap. You shouldn't attribute bad motive to every conservative who uses that term, as they are describing a very present sociopolitical phenomenon.

I love how in response to ‘are trans women women?’ it just say ‘Yes’. No long winded clarification or context or ‘i’m glad you asked!’. No ‘as a large language model..’. Blunt, single word answer. Grok will not be taking questions at this time. Kicks the hornets nest and smugly walks away without further comment.

@@joa1401 I looked it up and Lance Whitney aske it the same question and it first did give a little bit longer answer (still not as long as we expect from chatgpt). Then the question was asked again but with the prompt to only say yes or no. It was also asked by the same user if trans people and non-binary people should be able to expect others to use their pronouns and Grok literally wrote: "If you can remember the names of all the characters in your favorite Netflix series, you can probably remember someone's preferred pronouns. It's all about showing respect and treating others the way you'd like to be treated." I had some fun looking at what Grok writes when asked to roast Elon Musk... that is hilarious, when you're so bad at everything, your own creation roasts you.
