I rather enjoyed this game growing up. Played the crap out of VS mode. Then I found out a trick that pissed my friends off. Grab unguided missiles, (not heat seeking) fire them and then switch to your guns. The missiles will lock on cause of your machine gun reticle. Why pick unguided missiles? Well there's more of em. This also works in Mech Warrior SNES.

Note that being named "John Helicopter" does help in the multiplayer mode, as it makes it easier to find a second player, because, who wouldn't want to hang out with a dude named John Helicopter? Then he pulls down his pants, you realise how he got that nickname, and you get the hell out of there.

Speaking of helicopter games, would you consider doing a comparison video of Desert/Jungle/Urban strike on the SNES and Mega Drive? I strongly prefer the Mega Drive versions, but I would like to hear your thoughts. Little known fact is that Jungle and Urban Strike both had a DOS port, very well done DOS ports, with a unique extra level each. I've played the DOS version of Desert Strike and the 'bonus level' is absolutely brutal. I beat the 'base' game without cheating, but in this level I could barely get a look in.

War stuff that stands out? Okay, I fully recommend talking about Pacific Theater of Operations (P.T.O.) series on the SNES. It has you able to play events from the Pacific theater in World War II making you choose the Japanese or Allies. You can go for a long-ass play and even change the course of the war. But man is the CPU cheap-ass bastards (they'll either rebuild the ships you've sunk into subs or carriers). That or they'll invent jet airplanes or better-built ships before you (unless you've already beat them to this all). But man is it fun. There's even a sequel for the SNES (released near the end of the system's reign) P.T.O. 2 where it expands the play map to including Australia, Central America, and South America) and includes tanks for the land battles. I just remember for this one submarines were the way to go.

@buckroger6456 Жыл бұрын
There great games but they are also hard at first. Desert Strike gives you a bunch of tasks to do like rescue downed pilots, take out AA guns, destroy radar stations and so on. Plus you can blow up buildings and many have ammo or fuel in thrm for you. Later on you can find a winch upgrade that speeds up fuel and ammo pick ups.

I had an idea for a new series for you that I’d like to learn more about. With the Analogue Pocket not supporting SNES save states or sleep mode and us aging SNES kids just not having as much time to play as we used to, I’d like to know which SNES games are best to play on the go or in short bursts. Games where saving or passwords can be accessed anywhere (or saving happens automatically between each level like in Yoshi’s Island) Or just games that can be played in short bursts like Bust-a-Move Anyway just an idea!
