It took Klopp 3 years, Pep 18 months & Arteta has had 5 years, so why do Spurs expect it to happen sooner at our club?? We’re on the right track, got rid of most the ‘deadwood’ & have the basis of a superb young squad. We need a couple of additions, yeah but you can’t buy too many too soon, it’s a process. We are supporters of a club that has only won the biggest prize (the league title just twice in its 142 history). To win the odd knockout trophy is ‘papering over the huge cracks’ in this club’s inability to field consistently good teams and performances over a season. If there is just one aspect the club should be judged, it’s on its ability to win/strongly challenge consistently for the Premier League. No other. To achieve this for a club like Spurs requires ‘major surgery’. One part of that major surgery is to have a commercial infrastructure for creating the necessary cash resources to be able to buy good players. We are well on the way of achieving this. Another part is also to have the right Manager, and supporting facilities for the players. Most would argue that we have this. The other key part is to have a style of play that is consistent for a Premier League winning team. There is no point in playing defensive football, as if all you are trying to do is to prevent relegation. Teams that win the Premier League have ambition; they generally play front foot/attacking football. As Ange has said his priority is not winning a cup, his priority is improving the team so as to strongly challenge/win the Premier League. The sad thing is that Spurs fans have been brought up on the ‘malnutrition diet’ of winning the odd cup now and again. This is not good enough. We should raise our expectations to match those that are running the club and seek the highest prize. Spurs fans would do well to look at the bigger picture and get off the back of those that are trying to achieve the greatest prize for the club.

Spot on, Manchester United are in the same mess they were before recent cups wins. Winning the FA cup last year does not mean that they have improved as a team. It does not mean that their problems are solved and that they will be challenging for the Premier League title. Winning a cup is like having a few drinks and being merry and happy for a short while, only to sober up and find you are in the same s**t as you were beforehand, with the same headaches. They problems do not go away.

Our last high tide mark under Poch, the team had a great balance of attack , mid field of Dembele , Wanyama , Eriksen , Delete Ali and above all a back four that could transition from defence into attack and back again . That great team was built on its defence. To have a player of Dragusins ability, languishing on the bench is criminal. You have to play with your best players. All three center backs need to be on the pitch . Two flying wing backs , with license to bomb up the wings , and a decent CDM in front of the back three . The attack will then take care of itself .

Sonny brushing off the fact we should've backed both managers with an emphasis of direction so that any manager coming in should pick up the mantle. Then poch not backed for two years and then sacked. There is a poison in this club and nothing will progress until Levy is gone. Sonny I'm sure you're a nice guy but this video is nothing but naive. Ange is just another manager to take the fall for just culpable ownership.
@SonnyTalksSpurs2 ай бұрын
Why would we back short term managers?
@SEEKJustice12342 ай бұрын
@@SonnyTalksSpurs the point is about not backing a manager. It's about exploring an ethos, and having an overall plan football wise. First it was hiring "win now" managers with an emphasis on getting spurs that trophy quickly but the ownership didn't want to go all in on the players we need. If he went for specific players two years ago some of that quality would still be in the team and arguably we would be in a better position now. Now the newest levy trend is deciding to "so called" back a longer term manager and employ youth with a closer look at statistics. however it isn't anything new and I think other teams do it better and with more commitments. Either way it's another levy pet project that inevitably fails, Ange gets sacked, we win nothing or neither get close and the cycle continues. The worst thing of all is the fan base that constantly makes excuses for spurs ownership and create cope arguments such as "Ange wasn't right for the job" and "we just need a couple more players" we have been needing more than that for at least 6/7 years football wise but you've got the fan base congratulating how much money we are making for our shareholders. This club from the ownership to the fans just boggles my mind. The guys got forgiven for letting the club fester for 2/3 years and then sacking the manager for not getting results. It honestly boggles my mind.

Until we sign top players and pay top player wages, the quality of the team will never be good enough. I invite everyone to watch videos from the 50s and 80s so they understand that Ange didn't invent anything new, he went back 50 years! To reuse a way of playing that is unfeasible and very risky at the speed at which we play now; because of the constant way the full-backs go up, we are almost simultaneously playing with 5 forwards! The funniest thing is that nobody has noticed because the system was invented by you, the English, it's the 2-3-5 system (80s) and the high line that the team is practicing is even older! If Ange is not prepared to take defending seriously then I don't want him. Football is attack, defence and playing to our strengths. Our players don't appear to know what the appropriate positions are to take up as individuals within a team, manager's philosophy. Other clubs are just waiting for us to run out of steam. I can't understand why Ange is being defended so much when he is not a proper tactician, and is always like those who like him who are in total denial of what needs to be attended to; but just keep pointing to the positive stats.. Our team has to work twice as hard as others for half the reward. I'm sure the team is fed up of it, continually playing in confined spaces, always under pressure, and knowing full well that as the energy levels are depleting, we are going to be picked off yet again. It's soul destroying. I would liken the feeling to being found guilty of something you are innocent of, and going to jail for it. Keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. Be realistic. Ange has said he is happy with the players he has got; so why are we making excuses for him. Bonkers. I've been bound to this club since the 1950's, and I don't like someone who keeps telling me it's all right when without Mickey VDV it is just a matter of time, because of the system. @Sonny....You are letting your judgement as a fan, the exciting portion of the foolball cloud the real question being posed. I will get to it later. As a former player, scout, private trainer, and coach, football is not about personalities. It is specific to a style built around a typical piece of how you want to play, the caliber of players needed, and how do you adjust to the opposition who are more important to the execution of the tactics you deploy. Invoking Jose and Conte are short sighted as that again only feeds into a narrative instead of looking at Ange as the here and now manager who have fully turned over the squad retaining Sonny and Ben Davies of the older guards. The team assembled is all his because he accepted those he inherited as capable of playing in the image he fancies. Ange has come from leagues where his teams were the better team. He did not labor for too long based on the turn around of 2 years to dominate. It is naive to think Spurs who are maybe the 7th best team in The EPL would have such quick turn around with the quality ahead of us. Make not mistakes, apart from Villa , all the other teams are rungs up the ladder. Can we compete, yes. Can we dominate them as well as the league, no. No because there are no evidence over the last year and into this year to prove we can. We may do well in the early rounds of the cups, but when you get the 4th rounds where the competition gets tigher, will we be there? As promised, the football we are witnessing is very exciting which is what we want to see. So, Ange gets my vote on that. It should not mean you don't sacrifice your style to gain a tactical outcome based on your opponent. Newcastle who do not play the way they set up against us in general week in, week out. They press the ball and attack in numbers especially out wide with Gordon as the focal point. However, against us for the past 2 games it was blatant and obvious that the game plan was to play 541 with the holding mid and the 2 wingers tucking in, then leave Isak at the top out of possession. This is not on the players if we insist in bringing the fullbacks inside and high into the final third, with a very highline behind them, and get split open with one pass. Udogie's contribution in the offensive areas are non existing, and he crowds the spaces that should be left vacant for Son, Solanke, and Maddison to operate. He does not shoot or crosses the ball on the move. He wants to ticky tacky it into the box. So. there unlike Porro on the other side who does cross and shoot is a waste and a congestion agent in the attack. If he drops with the 2 center backs as City does with Walker to form 3 at the back with Rodri/kovacic in front, Gvadiol can press on the left. City is never short at the back for that reason. Why do I mention City, because the style are similar, but the quality is better, and the tactics deploy within the style makes the difference. The highline and the rigged way of playing makes Ange looks unrelenting in his quest to prove his way, method and system will work when the evidence has proven that in order for that to happen. It needs to be perfect, and there are no such thing. It can not be because your offense don't click today the way it should you loose because you are so vulnerable and expose defensivley trying to prove your offensive approach is the only way to go and will not be tweaked though it affects how we defend. That is where I think most fans are alluding to Ange stubbornness and unwilling to cede some ground by adjustung this all out attack by engaging the fullbacks so high keavimg us continuosly vulnerable to counter atracks. You can not average over 60% at any juncture against every team. Yet have a 95% risk of giving up a goal. The attacking football is great, but there are areas on the pitch where tactically Ange need to adjust to make the defense function as one unit. It is fool hearted to say VDV would have when those are the scenarios that put him at risk to blow out his hamstring. Bottom line , Ange really need to wake up and smell the stink of his lacking in tactics on game day.

Ange puts too much pressure on himself he said he is satisfied with the squad and he also said he feels that he was backed.He said he wins things on his second season.Ange is putting unnecessary pressure on himself

Ally said the starting 11 is good enough to win but doesnt think we will win because 4 other clubs are better. And its wishfull thinking that all the starting 11 players stay fit for the whole year while we compete for pl, epl, fa cup and league cup😅. Thats just living in delusion to think we will be fine... they are dreaming..

If Ange and his coaches sort out the stupid flat back four and stop conciding silly goals but we need to be harder in midfield and keep everyone fit we have a chance...

Bullshit. Ange ain’t capable of managing spurs. I am fed up of the pundits, the media etc always praising him. Last season didn’t get us top 4 and this season he can’t win a game. Ange also comes across arrogant e gives the big talk but doesn’t deliver on the pitch. He can’t beat no big clubs so why is he managing us. He lost 4 games in a row last season towards the end and had a go at us spurs fans for wanting to stop arsenal win the league. If he don’t get rivalry then F**K off. Get rid asap and bring in a winner like Thomas Tuchel.

Every manager has an off season. He won the champions league with Chelsea and a domestic cup. Ange can’t do it in the big league. This season he won’t do any better he loses too many games and if he loses the arsenal game then I want him gone as he has a very bad record against the top six big sides. Look at last season he was awful we lost 4 games in a row

Yeah, based on his effort last season, Ange isn’t up to it - Up three places to fifth. ⬆️ More points secured. ⬆️ Scored more goals. ⬆️ Conceded less goals. ⬇️ Qualified for Europe. 🌍 Ange Postecoglou recorded 20 league wins in his first season as #thfc head coach. André Villas-Boas is the only manager that recorded more Premier League victories (21) in his first season at the club. [BBC]

@@SonnyTalksSpurs a lot of things must be in line if he stay long or longer. 1. Results, he must achieve Top 4(Levy’s KPI for Ange), 2. Fans must be confident that his kamikaze high line will not result in the Top 10 teams to smash us. 3. Get a better defensive set piece coach. 4. Tell the truth, to Levy that he needs better players. Majority of the fans are still not convinced that chose Timor, Brendan. He hinted in his earlier interview, that his first choice is Conor Gallagher. We are all lie to that, we are going after Neto, Eze and even Toney. All bullshit… Levy holds the key. If Ange end up 8 or 10 in December, he should fire Ange
