i can start the argument and say that really trucks don’t have spark plugs. HOWEVER my uncle owns and runs Arizona Raptor Runs and he drives his raptor up and down az, utah, cali and even down to baja. with that being said i can respect a gas engine that puts out high hps and can throw it down on the street or in the dirt

I got a 11' F150 with the 3.5L currently at 216k miles. Only things that went wrong are the transmission blew (my fault) and the water pump started leaking and had it replaced. Drove it across the country for pipeline and it saw all types of terrain and long idle or drive time. The motor is an absolute stud. My favorite gas engine I’ve ever had. Close second would be the 5.3. Only downside to the eco boost is if you do a level with 33x12.50 your gas mileage takes a huge hit. Lifting it is oven worse. My 16 only got like 11.5 to 12 most of the time. Good looking trucks though.

Currently on my 2nd Ecoboost. First was a 15 Fusion with the 1.5L. Now in a 19 Ranger with the 2.3. I kind of screwed up and bought a RV that’s gonna be right at edge of what I’d be comfortable towing with the Ranger (28’ and about 6800lbs) so I’m not sure if I need a bigger truck for safety if I get a older PowerStroke (7.3 preferably but open to a 6.0 if it’s in good shape) or a F150 with one of the Ecoboosts. Other than the high pressure pump acting up at about 90k miles on the Fusion, absolutely zero issues.

My 2 cents from an '13 F150 Eco owner: They're great trucks till they're not. At about 100k the turbo coolant lines will start to leak and will be very costly if you are not mechanically inclined and fix it yourself. It's is a time consuming job to do yourself. If that's not enough the eco also will require new cam phasers and chains which will also cost a small fortune. So, unless you plan to trade it in after so many miles I would say go 5.0 or get the maximum extended warranty you can get FROM FORD not aftermarket. I hope Ford has fixed this issue on the newer models or that will be a huge mess for them.

I had a couple of ecoboost trucks and they were decent but I prefer the wonderful noise and instant torque of a V8.

I LOVE my 15 ecoboost! Had it for about a year now, and I have no complaints at all. I did some work to it(cold air, MBRP 4 inch exhaust, and morimoto y pipe from the turbos) but that's only because I HATE stock lol

I was looking into the 2015 F-150, but I heard it had some hard downshifts. What do you think? Also, how many miles did it have when you bought it?
@christopherharpster9330
@christopherharpster9330 2 жыл бұрын
@@ernestogarcia4563 I haven't noticed any hard shifts. I bought it with 81k on it, it's now at 131k. Like I said, I did do some work to it, but nothing in the transmission. I've pulled my boat with it up and down hills at the lake, which isn't that big or heavy(18ft bass boat) but I never had any problems. Even before the work was done it didn't give me any trouble.

“Hello”.Can you guys do me a favour.I can buy a 2013 2500 Chevy V8 for $1500 but I need to get a transmission for it how much would that cost. But is it a good idea to buy it for $1500.It also has 300,000km and a little surface rust on the box fenders but if I do buy it how would I fix that.

Went from a much loved but no longer needed '11 6.7 Lariat CCLB to a 3.5 Eco XLT Sport SC and love that one now except for the dinky 6.5 foot bed. I do NOT miss $4.50 diesel fuel and $13/jug DEF. If I need a nice soothing V8 rumble, I just crank up the modified 302 (5.0) engine in my '31 Ford roadster and go for a ride around town.

Looking to buy an F-150 EcoBoost within the next two weeks. I’ve already experienced the EcoBoost in an Explorer Sport, and it is no joke. It is by far the most refined engine I’ve ever been behind, and also very quiet. At idle it ticks away quietly at 600 rpm’s. But this is no lazy engine, you put your foot into it and if you’ve got the radio turned down you hear the turbo spool and the endless torque just starts pushing you down the road. This engine doesn’t even break a sweat towing anything under 5,000 lbs, and you’ve got plenty of passing power at disposal. The one huge drawback with this engine is that mercilessly guzzles gas. When driving on backroads, it only managed to average 20 mpg. The best I’ve ever gotten from it was on a 3 hour long highway trip where it managed 32 mpg, but I haven’t seen those kinds of numbers ever again. Great engine, just be ready to maintain it religiously and pay for only slightly better fuel economy than a V8.
