There isn’t much back story to who or what inhabits the doll just that a student nurse was given her and was told by a psychic that it was inhabited by the spirit of a little girl named Anabelle. In terms of binding, binding is probably (in my opinion at least) one of the most dangerous kind of spells you could use if you do not do it carefully but I get in a sense that it wasn’t done so that way with Anabelle. It is also one of the oldest types of magic to exist it traces back to some of the earliest human writing and is even also found in the Bible. Back then it was said you needed to connect yourself to a god or goddess or some type of diety in order to perform this spell so it could have well been they were calling upon an evils spirit while doing this certain spell. Since she’s made from a Ragedy Anne doll she probably was made from the same string that her spirit was bound to. It’s funny that you said the person didn’t do it correctly because that would definitely be the case. Since there was an unbound spirit roaming around after a binding spell the residual energy needed something to get attached to other wise the universe and energies would be whack so the energy probably attached to the doll

I'm once again commenting on here from stories I've heard in Asia. There're a lot child spirits bounded to dolls or figurines like this in Thailand. In the west the might call this witchcraft but in parts of Asia, they are considered something that helps the spirits. The story started in ancient time when a military general from Thailand who wanted to keep his dead unborn son and he bounded the spirit of his child to a doll. When the child receives enough moral goods then the spirit can finally move on. Today, there are still many dolls like that in South East Asia, and they actually became commodities. But there are rules to adopting them and stuff, and if the owner don't follow those rules they will be in trouble. Some people use it to do goods and some use it to do bads.

In my experience, binding doesn't really work like that. It's more like sending back their own karma. I find that cases like this are intense energies that aren't necessarily concious, but a collection of energy that stick to objects like velcro. If this child existed and had the life you explained, they probably held this doll and unknowingly transferred that pain to it, like a release. Energies like this can almost create their own conciousness if strong enough (basically a poltergeist). This would explain the hatred or revenge emotion. If I remember correctly, teens or young women owned the doll when the paranormal activity started. Teens have the highest amount of chaotic, uncontrolled energy (hormones lol) so that would stick to the doll as well,thus creating the monster we know today. Also, you're correct in saying that those who create tales and want to make money add to the energy or enhance the negativity. This is my educated hypothesis, I haven't actually worked with the doll in person to know for sure. I know some paranormal investigators have done 'tests' and said it was evil, but I've found they're usually biased and jump to conclusions too quickly. Like the mom wanted to control her little girl and the doll was that entity that bound her to her room. And/or I do agree the doll took on ALL the young girl's pain and has all thus residual energy of hatred and sadness. Im sad it hates women bc I would cherish such a doll. I'm sure the doll is fine with kids seeing as the only apparent enemy is the mother. I would try a cleansing ritual on the doll to release and change the negative energy to positive, and if that didn't work then yes, a more masculine medium could try to sort it out. The only issue is that the current and previous owner put so much effort into making this a scary artifact and making money off of it. If they don't change their perspective then nothing can be done.

Wiccan here; A binding spell is pretty much exactly what is sounds; you bind something to an object or tie it to the object to ensure something does or doesn't happen. The only way to put an end to it is for the person that did the binding to sever or cut the cord and release whatever is bound to the doll. It's a really powerful spell and shouldn't be cast lightly because it's incredibly easy to mess up and end up stuck to it or cursed. It sounds to me like they were trying to bind the abilities this child had which wasn't uncommon in older times because of the stigmas around witchcraft and wicca. They must have been jealous or some negative emotion around the child's ability and by not having an object to bind this energy to, it was able to latch on to the doll. The reason the doll doesn't like nurturing energy/women is because of the residual memory from the childhood; the mom did not like that her child was gifted and treated her very poorly. It's incredibly sad honestly I hope this is helpful!

I did watch the movie "Annabelle" for Halloween a few years back . The last I did hear about Annabelle she was being kept behind a thick pane of glass in some museum in Florida as an attraction side piece . @@bluebutterfly7233 yes this is the Annabelle story that we are discussing. The doll on the right is fake she is a remark model while. The doll on the left is the real Annabelle that is haunted. She is dangerous. This doll is real big compare to the one in the movie n she did injured people. The museum always get cleansed everytime anyone enters. Lorraine and her hubby tries not to let anyone disrespect the doll or they will get kicked out. This same doll was in the ghost adventure where zak was warn not touch her . He had bad stuff happen to him. Like I said I am not expert on haunted dolls though. I just like to learn about anything paranormal
