Groceries such as food, and going out to eat has become more expensive here in Buenos Aires. Other things are still drastuc cheaper than most of the modern world.
Either way, although cost of living is important. I find the quality of life here to be very enjoyable. People are warm, welcoming and fun. It's easy to socialize and interact with locals. Plus many of them know basic English and there's also tons of foreigners living here.
Thanks for reading/watching.
I uploaded a full video showing my apartment building.

Thanks for the update. Very thorough. I think you covered a lot of stuff for travelers. Does free health include dental? Do you need a special ID or card to travel on the trains/underground or buses? Thanks
@EXPATditions
@EXPATditions 6 ай бұрын
I don't think it includes dental, as I went to a private office and it was cheap. You need a SUBE Card, works with all public transportation. They sell them at most subway stations and some kiosko's

Eventually, if President Miele succeeds, many things are going to be privatized. Therefore, many things will be costing more because they will be a free market price. Things will still be a bargain. 🙏

Yes I heard that they plan to free up the market, and in open market many importations will arrive. That would be making things more competitive and by nature more affordable. Lets hope.

Thanks again, buddy. Just wondering if places north of Avenida Rivadavia but west of Avenida Gral. Paz are safe. Places like Hurlingham, Caseros and Pilar. Also Temperley and Banfield
@EXPATditions
@EXPATditions 6 ай бұрын
Everywhere is safe depending on what you wear and what you drive. But most of the areas you mentioned are known to be pretty dangerous such as Banfield and Temperley. Yet there's very upscale houses in Temperley and I've been there around 100 times and never had a single problem. The difference between living in a safe area like most of CABA and an unsafe area outside of CABA, is that you have to take more precautions and keep your guard up.

@juanarkantos
@juanarkantos 5 ай бұрын
Hi! I wanted to add, you are actually paying a rather high price for everything you mentioned because of the zone you live in. In the rest of the country (lots of places are safer and nicer than buenos aires) prices are muxh lower, specially rent. I rent a whole house with 3 bedrooms in tolosa for 250 dollars and its beautiful, in an upper middle class neighborhood
@EXPATditions
@EXPATditions 5 ай бұрын
Yes I do agree with what you mentioned. Every country is more expensive in it's capital or metropolitan area. Due to more jobs and stronger economy overall. Also tons of tourism makes prices increase to meet the demands. I would like to live on Córdoba or Mendoza eventually. But Argentina is full of beautiful towns with amazing scenery and nature. Buenos Aires is a great city, and extremely fun, but it's lacking mountains.
@juanarkantos
@juanarkantos 5 ай бұрын
@@EXPATditions some people find an appeal in the rural area of buenos aires being so flat. the way the sky meets the earth face to face. but if mountains is what you like, you should explore Bariloche, Villa Traful and Villa La Angostura
@EXPATditions
@EXPATditions 5 ай бұрын
@juanarkantos yes you're right. Buenos Aires has many nice parks with greenery. But I like to get far away from civilization, and cars. Bariloche is beautiful, I've been twice. Also El Bolsón and San Martín de los Andes. Only problem it's cold there 8 months a year.

Is it still the case that ATMs are sometimes not working and it is best to bring your home currency to exchange? But the exchange rates also extremely fluctuate on the streets and banks. That is what I heard. Sounds a bit dodgy. I usually just use my VISA Card world wide.
@EXPATditions
@EXPATditions 4 ай бұрын
Best option is to bring your own currency. It may fluctuate but you will always get a better rate with cash. Especially dollars or euros. I made a video where I show how to send yourself money.

in the past, the blue dollar kept up with inflation in such a way that if you kept your money in dollars only until you needed the pesos, you were mostly unaffected by the inflation there. I have been looking at the blue dollar rates lately and they look unchanged from the last time I was there (about 1000 pesos / $1) in November 2023. I'm curious to know from people on the ground there if inflation is growing faster than the blue dollar? Because it seems like it is, which means that even dollars are losing value in Argentina.
@EXPATditions
@EXPATditions 5 ай бұрын
You're absolutely right for the past couple of years the Argentine peso lost so much value. Inflation has been extremely high but due to the great exchange rate things stayed extremely cheap for foreigners. But that ended around 4 months ago. The peso gained some strength and has been dormant around 1000 per $1. Meanwhile prices continued to increase for a 3 months or so. Fortunately prices have finally been stable this past month. Judging by the economy and history of the peso, it may continue to lose value in the coming months. 10.000 and 20.000 bank notes will come into circulation in June. I think the dollar will get around 1.500-2.000 pesos by the end of the year. I'm just speculating based on the charts.
