I mean in all honesty, given that City and Liverpool exist the chances of getting a BPL are very slim. Add to that Chelsea and Man U that significantly outspend Arsenal reasonable odds are maybe a league title once a decade. In Europe it's even harder with the likes of Bayern, Madrid, PSG and Barcelona competing. When Fergie had his first run of titles he was at Man U for 5 years and barely had any competition in the league. It also took him 12-13 years to win his first European trophy and then he had to wait another decade for his second.

The fans have been through two, arguably three, long and ultimately disappointing seasons which were all brushed under the carpet with the promise that we'd soon win. Now that we don't look likely to win a major trophy (the Prem or the CL) this season either, it is no wonder the fans are feeling frustrated and starting to turn on Arteta - especially since his strategy of overplaying and overspending is causing the decline.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm quite surprised that people underplay the scale of overhaul Arteta did. I still remember it like it's yesterday, the complete squad overhaul, how e.g. they'd religiously play out from the back and then get caught out, that everyone wasn't expecting results because Arsenal was a mess anyway and so they were willing to be patient and see signs of improvement, and then, suddenly, they had that title race season which kind of was out of nowhere and suddenly people realized that they are seriously good. It's weird how quickly people forget

He took over a squad that came 5th and only lost out on top 4 because they prioritized Europa league where they made the final. Then this squad won Arteta the Fa cup. Then he started messing around and brought them down to 8th twice in a row, before he came 5th…Then…the rise to title challengers started. Arteta has some much needed time to get Odegaard, Calafiori, Rice, Merino, Saka and White back to 100% fitness and get the team prepared for our next matches. He's been very unfortunate to have the unlucky bumps of suspensions, injuries, questionable decisions and fine margins all go against him at once and so many of our supporters are throwing tantrums for no reason. City have already shown that they aren't at their best and Liverpool have had a very easy start to the season with them still having to play against City causing one of them to drop points. It isn't a good start to the season but we're still in it and the last thing that we should do is put unnecessary pressure on the team just 11 games into the season.

Without having watched the video yet, I quickly wanted to share my opinion to see if we align. Im obviously an Arsenal supporter. I still have complete trust in Arteta and think the reaction to our start of the season have been massively overblown. Imo theres 3 major factors for our start. Injuries: Odegaard is the major player that has been missing and thats definetely a massive loss. Hes the best (statistically) best chance creator in the league and thats obviously a huge loss. But hes not the only one. Merino missed the first few games and is only now getting to match fitness, calafiori, timber and white have all missed their fair amount of games. Add the suspensions to that and we were never really able to play our "best" 11. Especially the left side has been hit by that. Our right side has clearly been the better and more dominant side, Merino and Calafiori were signed to balance that out somewhat and improve the dynamics of our lhs. How many games were we able to start merino, calafiori and martinelli/trossard together? Schedule: We simply had an incredibly tough schedule. Away games to tottenham, city, newcastle, Chelsea and Tottenham among the first few games is kinda insane. Apart from southhampton there wasn't a single "easy" opponent (if such a thing even exists in the prem). The teams we lost too also arent bad at all. Brighton and Bournemouth both also won against city, Newcastle away is an uncomfortable fixture for anyone. Not only does this mean that from now on, the schedule is going to get a lot easier it also means that some of the toughest away fixtures are already gone and wont happen in the second half of the season. Apart from liverpool away. all really tough away fixtures are basically gone. Bad luck: And to some extent we have simply been unlucky. The red cards are definetely unlucky whether you consider them correct and or not simply because we have seen multiple instances for the same actions that havent received the same punishments. Some of the losses like Inter or Newcastle were games were a win or at the very least a draw would be more than deserved but simply didnt happen for different reasons. Bad finishing costing us in some games, 50/50 calls not going our way. Both the liverpool and chelsea game could very easily have been wins with a bit more luck. But its currently just not happening. That doesn't mean that everything Arteta does is perfect and he is without flaw. His lineups have been far too conservative at times. Prime example for that is the bournemouth game. He should have trusted nwaneri far more in odeegaards absence and he should have moved away from the trossard midfield idea far quicker. The use of the squad in general is questionable at times. Sterling doesnt play any role yet, jesus looks really bad even though he had a very promising preseason. But i dont think the season is over. Far from it. Liverpool wont be able to keep this up. The margin for error has just massively decreased now. But after the international break we should have a mostly fit squad and quite an easy schedule. Perfect opportunity to start a run, which this team definetely can after the title charge last season. I also think the prem is probably the strongest it has ever been, therefore i dont think anyone is getting close to 90 points this season. Its going to take a massive effort (and some luck from now on) but i trust Mikel and the boys to deliver.

Tottenham sold Harry Kane though…and reinvested. Arteta has lost no one.

#thepeopleschannel a video on the Bangladesh premier league and the rise of Bashundhara kings would be good A team who went into the top flight after promotion and won the last Six league titles now! Are they the next Newcastle? Are they a team to keep a eye on next few years? Thanks Alfie 😊

600mil on players and the best they could come up with is being good at set pieces 😂😂😂😂

I zoned out of this video, (have it on in the background as I’m on my PlayStation). The Bin Laden part made me think I had accidentally skipped the video 😂

I think there's a danger that this Arsenal team might be passing it's peak. It's certainly at the stage where they're beginning to be thought of as habitual bottlers and non-trophy winners. I do think that they are perhaps just one or two players away from becoming winners though. If they can get a good goalscorer, then they might stand a real chance. If they keep "strengthening the squad" rathed than filling this gap though, they will struggle to win anything and Arteta will come under fire.

Christ, the internet has made everyone so reactionary. We're not even a third way through thew season. My team (Chelsea) are apparently back, and Man Utd are finished. Arsenal, the wheels are off. So says the internet........

wait so there was actually a time in the 90s where bin laden was at highbury not too far from claude and ty? god that is so fucking cool.

Real question is was Bin Laden welcomed when Arsenal moved stadiums in 2006?

Please do a similar downfall videos for Roma or (since this week is an international break) the Ghana national football team. Roma now had 2 managers in just 4 months, were 12th in table, but the gap between all Serie A teams were quite interesting (Roma could have been in relegation zone). Ghana just only need 1 more game away for missing out the AFCON in this international window. Also, don't post anything related to real-life terrorism in football (Osama bin Laden or even ISIS). They're too sensitive to watch. You might get arrested.

MU fan, would swap the way Old Trafford is run both on and off the field with the Gunners anytime. Some of these Gunners fans don't know what they've got.

It is and I’ve tuned out. People can call me whatever they want but I’m not gonna be invested in a team that’s not performing. I did that for most of my life. Not anymore.

They struggled without Odegaard. Honestly, that's at least two thirds of the explanation for any struggle.
@Diogo85Ай бұрын
They didn't, though. They struggled because of several injured players.

Sacking Arteta would be equal to Man Utd sacking of Jose Mourinho. Absolute disgrace and catastrophe that would need decade to fix.

Not even remotely close. Mourinho deserved the sack. There is a reason he gets sacked after 3 seasons like everytime.

I think the argument of "Arsenal have spent less than Chelsea and United" is flawed in that both management structures at those clubs have been widely derided as completely inept. That shows that Edu is far better at his job than Woodward/Arnold and Boehly which we knew. That's not really a comment on Arteta's management approach imo
@maciejbala4772 ай бұрын
sure, but that also used to be the case with Arsenal before, they had their own banter era

Hold on there, pump the breaks😂😂😂 it was well known that the Pepe signing was heavily started and dealt with by Raul Sanllehi as head of football, which is one of the reasons Raul left "under a cloud" because of the deal he agreed to.

My god are you guys negative:)) after 2 weeks of playing bad because of injuries youre already thinking about changing the manager:))) maybe the players are tired!!!did you think of that??? they've been going strong for 3 years now almost.
