@@Hashiriya985 In that case they also had experience to build on from earlier game. I didn't like Black Flag as it had some in main quest where one had get from point A to B in time and kill something before time was up. With Origins that they did good work on underwater exploration as water have different quality (some places muddy and other places pretty clear) where you can find stuff and also combat while in water work which is good as I don't know how many times a crocodile have nibbled on my legs and my arrows where nowhere to find.

Antiquity makes up the period between civilization emerged and the medieval age, so ~3000 BC (depending on definitions) and the fall of Rome in the 5th century AD. Historians apply this periodization responsibly only to Europe, the Middle East and North Africa though, since China, India and South America have their own wider development. Classic and ancient are synonyms, in the way you're using them.

@Matheus Froehlich In Odyssey you actually had stealth abilities, origins has perhaps 2. Odyssey had side quests with actual NPCs with names, their own storylines, and they expanded on Ancient Greece. In Origins every side quest is going to a camp and picking somebody up to bring them back to the quest giver because they can’t walk or killing animals that an NPC is surrounded by. I mean let’s be honest here, anybody who thinks Origins is better couldn’t tell you 5 side quests that are memorable and also remember the NPC name (if they have any to begin with)

Bayeks voice changes like that when he has any helmet on. This game's one of my favorites in the series. Calling Bayek "one dimensional" is like calling Kratos one dimensional. It's a fundamental misunderstanding of the character. Bad take man. I agree with yours on Aya though, her segments weren't as good as the rest of the game, and I didn't like her as a character as much as Bayek.

Loved the video but something must be said; AC Origins does not take place in ancient Egypt. That was 4,000 years prior to the plot of origins. It takes place in Ptolemaic Egypt. IMO it makes it even better, as you see the grandeur of mankind 4,000 yrs prior to Bayeks life. It is like seeing the colloseum today for us.

Everything in this game felt perfect. At least on my first playthrough. From the protagonist to the stunning story to the breathtaking world and setting this game is amazing. I loved every second of it. Has to be on the top 5 of Assassin's Creed. I really cannot understand how some people (only a few thankfully) don't like this game. An Assassin's creed game with Regular assassins, a hidden blade, really good stealth and parkour system, stunning graphics and soulsborn combat system. What is there not to love? This game keeps the perfect balance beetwen RPG and all time classic Assassin's Creed. Odyssey kind of surpasses the balance and stands as a more RPG game but rremains superbly fun and a really good game and Valhalla is the game that f*cks it up generally...... Absolutely Recommending this game if you still haven't played it.

I loved Origins but only cause I think it didnt go too far in the RPG elements. Every large game release now a days is an RPG wanabee, the new Assassins Creed Mirage actually feels like a breath of fresh air. I dont need every game to have some impactful dialogue choice, sometimes i just need a LINEAR cool and established story that has the exact cannonical vision the writer had in mind and a nice setting to explore and parkour around with decent enough combat mechanics. I hope ubisoft manages to do some alternating cycles where they have classic AC games and then every couple of years work on a bigger RPG title.

Not really sure how u think that the story of origins is worse than that of odyssey and Valhalla, just because you don’t get to have input to the story, the way that odyssey and Valhalla do options gives you a false feeling as to your actual impact on the story an example of this is at the beginning of odyssey is when you choose the horses at the beginning they don’t actually do anything and they’re all called Phobos regardless of which one you decided to choose, those games with false sense of choice bring nothing to the story as kassandra can at one point be caring and the next shell wanna sleep with someone random and will just be in a random angry frenzy in the next which makes her character feel disconnected and ruins the immersion and doesn’t align with her character they try to do 2 thing that skyrim and the Witcher do with dialogue options without taking the positives of both, in origins at least you get to understand the Bayek as a person and his emotions and his struggle to find the killer of his son

I got it awhile ago and decided to actually play the trilogy recently, so I decided to get into origins first. I love it so far, but I play on console and for some reason after leaving the tutorial area at the start (where you fight the one warrior and escape the area), the voices become so bad. I don't know how to fix it, but besides that I am loving the game. Always been a fan of older civilizations, mythology, and so this will be fun

I literally just killed the head of the Order on NG+ on Nightmare. I will finish this playthrough tomorrow. On some of your notes about Bayek's actions killing some of his targets, some of the dialogue explains some of his thoughts about these. Killing the Scarab, I'm not sure what a warrior in this world would do after being buried and left to die in the desert. Especially, by this time, he was tasked with these assassinations by Cleopatra. The Scarab had to go. And I agree about the writing in Origins being somewhat touch and go, but I love the story nonetheless. There were some standout parts such as Shadya and hunting the Crocodile. Also, you should check out The Hidden Ones DLC, there is some follow-up to some stories from the main story.

A few thoughts from someone who has played most AC games (Rogue is the only one, and I am playing it right now). Stealth elements: You can distract enemies with carious tools since Revelations (third Ezio game, set in Ottoman Istanbul), and whistle from hidden spaces since AC3, so the series has had this for a while. Parkour: It is indeed lacking in the last three games, not only in Origins. The main reason is that architecture from these times is simply not allowing meaningful parkour elements to exist. It is the very reason why Ubisoft developers didn’t want games in those eras for years, because densely built urban environments are a thing only since the Middle Ages (maybe China is one of the rare exceptions). Fans have been demanding an Ancient Egypt game for years, and when it finally arrived, the parkour issues are hardly surprising. Combat system: I would argue that the most responsive combat system was first introduced in AC3, and then it was slightly expanded in Black Flag and Rogue. You could do things as using enemies for cover against gunfire, push enemies into obstacles through various ropes, etc. Games that came after that abandoned responsiveness for the sake of utility, and it shows in Origins. RPG elements and story: I mostly agree on this one, especially on the RPG elements - there isn’t a meaningful decision you make in Origins. In all fairness, Odyssey is not much better, as far as the main story is concerned, as your decisions affect mostly secondary characters. There is only one major plot line that could develop in meaningful different ways, everything else is pretty linear. Aya is indeed the more interesting character, but I kind of like Bayek, too. Marketing of female protagonists: I somewhat disagree regarding Odyssey, because pre-release, the focus was very much on Alexios. Only after people who have played the game started to argue that Kassandra is the much better-written protagonist, marketing shifted. It is indicative that a year after Odyssey’s release, more than 70% of players had picked Alexios, rather than Kassandra. Now with Eivør, marketing was indeed focused on the female option, though both CGI trailers feature the male one. In my opinion, the male voice actor, Magnus Brun, does a better job in that one. A fun fact: he also played a viking in “The Last Kingdom” TV series, so I guess he had some practice :) All in all, Origins is not a bad game, in my opinion. The setting is gorgeous, and I also loved exploring tombs, it is totally an Indiana Jones feel. While writing is shallow, it has some lovable characters, and I sincerely like Bayek and Aya. I will admit, Odyssey does a much better job in storytelling and character writing. However, Odyssey has a huge downside - there is simply too much of everything. It unconditionally wins the award for most bloated game by far. In comparison, Origins doesn’t feel that big, and I would honestly prefer it, due to the sheer time investment Odyssey requires,

Best assassin's creed game. Second would be Valhalla. Odyssey is just a joke with low damage and ages to kill NPC. It would be first but cannot stand hours to kill one NPC.

Can anyone confirm if he started the AC series with this recent open world trilogy?. I never played the older games and I want to start with this one but not sure if I am going to miss out on the evolution of this series. There are just so many and I don't have the time

Unlike odyssey and valhalla. I had heard unanimously great things about this game and even though I hate the needless grinding everything else is amazing, including the great writiing for the side quests that made the grinding much more bearable. And the music bro, simply amazing

Same opinion,this is the worst plot in AC series,you play as bayek and end it with Aya,just feel WTF?,and when Aya choose to separate with bayek after what they get through,that suck to the bottom,but the DLC is good

I've played every AC and never got into the whole RPG thing and really hated this game. I found it slow and frustrating and it didn't have much parkour and have up after a few hours. Then Odyssey came out and instantly loved it. The storyline was more fun and the whole game had humour. I have replayed several times. Valhalla was great but for me no real replayability. I've finally gone back to AC origins with the Series X update and do have a new round appreciation for it. It's still not the best though IMO

I’m just over half way through it on ps5 played Valhalla so knew what the open world tasks kinda where coming into it also done mirage and this game bangs thank god it ain’t got the following paper stuff. The wildlife the pyramids even the combat even. My only problem would be the grading system Ubisoft done that with ghost recons and it got played out after a while but I’m going for the plat I got 2 this will be my third and I got Odyssey & black flag sitting in the draw.

I’ve played every Assassins Creed game, and I must say, I really enjoy Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla. So many people hate these games because they’re different than the older AC games…but I love it. The games are so much more in depth. The worlds are way more fun to play in, and there is way more to do..which makes me, as a consumer, feel like I’m getting my money’s worth. People need to learn to adapt and change with the times. These games are absolute gold.

Hey i only played assassin creed 3 few years back and now I'm confused which AC SHOULD I BUY? VALHALLA, ORIGINS OR ODYSSEY?
@VaTzRaDz
@VaTzRaDz Жыл бұрын
@@manna604depending on what kind of player you are. Are you more story timeline based or are you more the type of player that likes to play everything in order 1,2,3? Origins , Odyssey then Valhalla Storyline wise & I've played all of them now , I'm just now trying origins for the first time actually this week for the location and environment . Odyssey probably has the best location because of the environment. Nonetheless I prefer Valhalla for the gameplay & time period.

A few things Big Dan forgot to mention about the opening (Spoilers ahead.) Like the fact Khemu's death couldn't have been avoided. The Order of the Ancients made it clear they would kill both Bayek and Khemu if Bayek didn't open the Vault. But Bayek had no idea how to open the Vault so the only chance for either him or Khemu to live was to escape.

Should I play it if I am a fan of Assassin's Creed games? Because I am, but I am kind of tired of RPG elements like crafting/resource gathering for equipment upgrading, and the miniscule "upgrades" they are that are not comparable with the effort/time sink/annoyance to get. Every time I am interested in the story and experiencing that, but the RPG stuff just turns me off these days, and every time I see them come up in the "should you play" type videos I just get all..."bleeeeh".

Well it's an open world game that's what open world means 😂 that garbage with ezio killing multiple people at once got boring to me my puppy can play that game. Black flag had the same crafting system and open world rpg there was 2 cities in black flag and people love it. Orgins has 8 plus villages, I loved classical ac games but now I love how big the worlds are.

Play on easy difficulty if you just wanna do the story without worrying about stats and upgrades
@Mazder_Verhal
@Mazder_Verhal Жыл бұрын
@@HaykInWonderland I'm not worried about difficulty I am worried about time sink in games that are ultimately needless form a design standpoint. There is an extreme difference between something being difficult and something being a time waster. Overly padded gameplay of being the same gameplay over, and over, and over, and over again for loot collection to make enemies appear tough vs actually being tough is a time waster. If it weren't there wouldn't be so many guides over the years explaining how to do it quicker.
@HaykInWonderland

@@Mazder_Verhal considering none of that is what you mentioned in your initial comment, instead was things like crafting, that was what my reply was based on.
@Mazder_Verhal
@Mazder_Verhal Жыл бұрын
@@HaykInWonderland because the crafting usually takes a fuck tonne of resources to go out and grab over and over, even as the optimal way of play. I'm playing AC:Odyssey currently and it is abysmal the amount of resources you need together every time you want to upgrade your gear and ship. Even if you're only needing it every 10 levels it's still thousands of resources by the end of it all. That is just bad design. As I said in my original comment it's a time sink/annoyance. It's not "hard" it's really annoying and takes you out of the rest of the story/gameplay. "Kassandra took 30 minutes between missions to do Achia wall runs" is not exactly stellar ideas of gameplay.

Playing ACO with projector on a wall, with great sound system... This is the best thing that I ever felt. ACO has moments of action, but also pure calm, and the balance is perfect. Love it. Best AC game. Odyssey is too dense, over the top and unrealistic, Valhala is boring af, past AC games doesn't have next-gen polish. ACO is a way to go.
