My biggest disappointment with this is it just ruins the past experiences of battlefield. There wasn’t ever mfs grappling above you in some god spot , there weren’t flying squirrels w no audio , and the gunplay required some actual skill , recoil control and burst fire now it’s just point and shoot , battlefield 3 I think about almost every day , peak battlefield in my opinion maybe bf4 was the best but the memories I have of bf3 are just never going to be recreated in 2042.

I unfortunately never got to play any other battlefield besides this one and BF1. I was debating getting BF4 a few years ago, but I play tested it on my friends setup and it wasn't a great experience. Nevertheless, I loved BF1 but I hated the setting. Maybe it's just me, but I can't stand to play games made in old settings. When I say BF2042, I was excited, but that was crushed. Now I just play jets and practice strafing. Hoping BF7 is good, but honestly I'm more excited about GTA 6 than anything.

If new maps are only allowing them to make one each season. I'd rather they focus on bringing multiple classic maps from BF4. Game definitely needs its own Metro or Lockers. Seige of Shanghai would be insane. But more maps sized like Reclaimed is what's needed. No doubt more weapons too.

The thing I hate the most about extra large maps is that when you look at the left side of an area, you get shot from the right. You look up, you get shot from down etc. EA and all other developers missing the point when we say "we want locker or metro like maps". We want consistency. Most of us are not like try hard demon gamers and again most of us come back from work and blow off of some steam. We don't wanna be a "skilled" players to have fun. In operation locker map, it's linear. You don't have to worry about getting shot in the back. There are of course some dudes that play aggressively on lockers and they are the actual skilled players. Those are the ones that take C flag and turn the game around. Also one good vehicle player can easily ruin the game for everyone on foot. For example if you play on Caspian Border, you play as engineer. That's pretty much it. Otherwise there is nothing you can do about the hefty boys and flying spagetti monsters. The amount of content in season 5 is just laughable, even if some of it is good there is no reason of praising dice. Apart from balance changes we got only 1 map that is based on an existing bf4 map, 3 weapons, a few grenades. Can't forget about the new skins tho that are so important for the quality of the game and totally not just cashgrab.

At £49.99 in UK just now i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. New players might have fun for a few months but then it gets boring which is down to lack of new maps. The newest map is ok but gets boring after a few plays againThe balancing just doesnt work. I feel sorry for the devs, they are obviously being told to just get the updates out the door to keep investors happy by getting money in. Hopefully the next battlefield will launch when the devs are ready not EA or investors. I will never pre order another Bf again tho

They need to heavily reduce explosive spam, nerf Mckay grapple bs and add more cover that is destructible between objectives so people don't just sit at random cliffs all the game without necessarily allowing them to camp. Team death match needs a massive overhaul all maps play like shit..forced to play Rush to get a tdm 'feel'.

I've been playing BF since BF3 and BF2042 is fun and worth it now. Not really bothered with what players say. I DID NOT like it at launch though, I hated it but all the updates and changes has actually improved this game a ton and it's actually one of my favorites in the franchise now. Even BFV was great for me. I like how BF2042 is actually different from the rest in the series. It's something different that I've come to really enjoy. The ONLY thing I'm not the biggest fan of is the 128 players, it does get out of hand sometimes but other than that, I'm creating my own different memories, just like I did with the others

5:47 i've been able to do about 75% dmg on Wildcats with one strafe but the rockets are somehow really inconsistent, next strafe you might just hit one rocket. Might be because i'm not very used to them yet, idk. But those strafes obviously only work with oblivious drivers. A Wildcat can easily kill a jet on one pass.

Now, I want to give everyone else here context as to where Silk comes from as a player. While the air vehicles are a little underwhelming, you should take Silk's takes on them, especially wanting a dumb fire weapon on the jet, with a MASSIVE grain of salt. For those who are new here, don't be fooled. This man was one of those jack-offs nuking AA from the skybox with j-dams in BF4, and he would be MORE than happy to return to a game-state where jets were untouchable.(after all, he is primarily a jet gameplay content creator). He would be lying through his teeth if he didn't admit at least SOME bias towards air vehicle balance. My personal opinion? 2042 is in an ok-ish state. I'm a vehicle whore myself. My issue is there isn't enough vehicles for 128 players and you can't even help fill out gun seats in any of them because you can't spawn on teammates like you could in BF4. Not to mention, the gunner options for the attack heli's are missing a ton of content and customization.

This battlefield just takes away the weight and heaviness of battlefield. It feels so much more like an arcade-style game. Battlefield 3 and 4 had that immersion and incredible gameplay. Battlefield 5 had incredible immersion, despite the bugs/balancing issues it is known for. I think the looks of 5 and the immersion is great. 2042 just doesn’t really feel like it has much immersion at all. The balancing really is just everywhere and I really just don’t feel immersed in each game like I do in 3, 4, and 5

I think the railgun tank and Lis are good additions actually, sure against very good players it’s not super fun but since no one wants to go anti-vehicle in 2042 Lis and the tank are your only options if you want to do meaningful damage against very strong vehicle opponents. Especially if you’re on your own when nobody will take them down, Lis or the tank are perfect in getting rid of vehicles when nobody else will.

DICE also hiddenly nerfed the mpat shell for tank with 4.2 update(not on patch note), but no one talks about it :/, seriously the splash damage is really bad now, you can shoot near the feet and it does little to no damage.

I remember when Cav Brawler was just released and I unlocked the 20mm flak. I thought hey, nice idea to have variety work incendiary for infantry or flak for air. And spawn beacon for the whole team which I had hoped the MAV would have been a'la Amtrak from BF4. But the flak was horrible (then). Overheated in less than two seconds and did very little damage even close to a stationary... well okay transport heli was and is effectively a behemoth or titan. But it was bad. Now the flak is way overpowered. Holy heck they just can't stop changing things from OP to trash and back vice versa.

To be honest while the rocket pods are pretty much ineffective against heavy vehicles I find them to be pretty efficient at racking up infantry kills and light vehicle kills like jeeps and enemy helicopters I sometimes even find myself shooting down enemy fighter jets in dogfights using them because they do massive damage against helicopters and fighter jets. Since it's really hard to hit infantry with the main gun on the jet in console I tend to just gravitate towards the rocket pods because as long as you got some precise aim you can master them to a degree and get lots of infantry kills. Whenever I go jet I just focus on killing infantry light vehicles and enemy aircraft and that's what I do I completely ignore tanks. It would be great if rocket pods were effective against tanks like in Battlefield 3 but I don't have a lot of faith in Dice buffing them.

I'm in a weird place as a player. I had started with Battlefield 2 played through BF3. But then took a long break until 2042, skipped the Xbox one gen. So for me, I enjoy 2042, usually. The only thing I consistently dislike is Rush on any of the 2042 maps. They are not well designed for that at all. Personally I feel Dice has taken the approach of being over protective of their maps. Wanting you to play their way. Especially with the borders on breakthrough. Flanking for me is fun, finding ways to get around. Destruction is very specific and limiting. My only thought for Specialists, which I don't mind. As long as Dice isn't too restrictive on play style. Is that all their abilities should have to be refilled with a supply crate. For things that are more durable like Rao hacking or Dozer shield, they have limited use of effectiveness. Dozer shield wearing out or Rao hacking loses power over time.

I've been playing since 2142 and i think the game is like a 7.5/10 now. I genuinely like the gunplay and movement, the biggest problems are the spotting gadget spam and class balance. I wish they would've given assault ammo instead of the med pen because right now the most played class has no teamwork compotent. I have grown to like over half of the maps though. I think all of the Season maps are pretty good and then the Discarded, Orbital, and Breakaway all significantly improved with their reworks. Kaleidoscope is still trash no matter what version tho. Here's to hoping Hourglass significantly improves in the rework because I love the setting and visuals of that map, it has the potential to be really good with like double the cover and closer objectives.

Honestly rocket pods are trash for full health infantry,but if you use them on aircraft it melts them. Also pretty good against the jeep/hovercraft. Really only useful for that or low health infantry. The hovercraft or jeep meta is super OP. I can delete a stealth heli before it gets to me

I refuse to support this putrid abomination of a Battlefield game. Disappointing destruction, "MERCENARY ARMIES" which allow Russians to fight on the US side like ok, just give us conventional armies with nameless soldiers. Hearing the Chinese soldiers scream for their mother as they died to American hands felt so immersive in BF4, and vice versa. Dogshit monetization, no first person takedowns, lackluster thematic consistency, no urban map, no attack jets, no naval vehicles (which they promised btw), they stopped supporting Portal, arguably the best thing about this embarrassment of a game, they wasted time and money on a cash grab gamemode which doesn't even invite you to play anymore it's THAT boring. If this is what Battlefield is going forward then frankly I'm done with the series, let corporate greed ruin another staple of people's childhood, they're going to buy it anyway.

all base maps in this game have no identity, its all about a flat terrain with 1 central building, no vertical covers makes unplayable for all types of gameplay, helis get locked, railed, flaked and TV spammed from all over the map, tanks gets soloed by c5 infantry zombies running after you because they don't have mobility to escape or get cover, vehicles don't intimidate anyone nowadays, but is what u said, the average playerbase appreciates it

I think you are completely wrong about spread. Spread brings the skill ceilimg down tremendously. Just add more recoil to actually make it skill based. Spread is absolutely NOT skill based because it introduces random deviation to your bullets. That is idiotic.

The problem with pro vehicle players is they expect to not die the entire match, and if something in the game is preventing them from doing that, they are always going to complain. Personally, I'm very happy with any decision that makes pro vehicle players extremely hard to stay alive the entire match. Pro vehicle players are a small minority of the player base. The majority of players, including me, are infantry players and it would make absolutely no sense to give preference to the minority of the player base.

my idea for Dice to balance the railgun tank would be at first on the stationary mode. Right now it gives you a faster load time and makes the turret speed extremely slow. I would remove the ability to move the turret during stationary mode completely. That would be the first step to make it more balanced. Still not sure how you could change the damage because.. its literally a railgun. Maybe Dice should consider damage drop off at distances to finally stop the sniping from the own spawn into the enemy's spawn.

Honestly I see a lot of AI in the conquest 128vs128 and even more or all AI players in other modes:( maybe I am in asia and it's crazy expensive and not many people bought it that why...wish I could change the server

2042 they need to rework the gun fight and movement, make solid with the animation precision in soldier movement/jumping and aiming like bf4, bfV, BF1.. that's the real problem with this game

I loved BF4, wasn't hugely impressed with the dumbing down that the weapon system suffered with BF1 and BF5 (though I did love the look of the game in BF1). After the BF5 fiasco I decided not to get my hopes up for 2042...and just as well I didn't. I left the game alone until enough updates had been done that people weren't hating the game, strongly disliking but not hating....as much. Kinda enjoyed the gameplay, hated the specialists, hated the repetitive maps, hated the lack of a server browser, hated the lack of variety in the weapons....so I stepped away. Tried it again when they improved the maps...enjoyed it but not enough to play past a few days. Tried it again with the "new" class system...better but still the specialists have tainted the whole thing for me. Stepped away for months....and I haven't missed the game at all. Any fixes to the game just feel like a jury rigged afterthought to fix idiotic game design decisions that anyone with a gram of sense should have had the balls to say "Err guys...hang on a sec. This idea is a whole new variety of stupid". This game can't win me back. They're patching a flawed game system that means they're limited in what they can do to fix it. That's the way it will always be....flawed. I'll look at the next BF release in the franchise but I sure won't be buying it until I know it isn't a steaming pile of garbage like 2042 was/is. That's the one saving grace in all this, I never spent a penny of BF2042.

2042 can legitimately be fun as can basically anything and it does provide a unique experience compared to other games, but there's so many bugs and audio issues that completely break any immersion and ruin what little flow the game has for me, maybe 5/10 equally good and trash overall

To balance railtank it loses power for 5 seconds after firing a round. Meaning it cannot move and protective systems dont work for 5 seconds. In lore just say it consumes all its power from firing a round, and it recharges its power back for 5 seconds. If after testing its still powerful then just extend the downtime to 8-10 seconds.

After watching Squid, I just play as Sundance to fly around a knife people. But the game modes aren’t super populated all the time and the game play is getting kinda boring

If it was a single player game yea... Cause there is absolutly no cooperation what so ever. Was running around trying to basicly get ammo for a couple of minutes. Untill I forced my own death. That is not the first time I had to do that. Getting revived is more an OOPS then a YAY! If we had servers like we used to and players we could join in on again. Having a good round with two or three players working somewhat together is one thing. Getting to keep them as soon as the map ends ha ha... Game says screw you and dumps you into the looser squad of single minded NPCs who will give you nothing or even run in the same direction as you. Tonight was a disaster with the squads I got... If I do not play Support, I get nothing. I had to run from one end of the map to the other to give ammo to a guy who was "Give me ammo!"... It did not stop even if I was behind it... Running! The specialists are such a bad move, having the same character as my team mates running against me yea, that works. I died more to unknown lookAlikes comming around a corner then I seen enemies I think. OH I play this game... quite a bit, but I would not say I am a hero ha ha. Im thinking of retiering it. It's still quite unbalanced and glitchy. So I would not recommend it to someone. Most of the time it takes around two minutes to get a server (Game start). Then having to watch those irritating scenes at the start of every game. Most maps are half baked at best and not very balanced in termes of cover. Spawn points are totaly off. Specially when you spawn way outside of the flag area right infront of the enemies... But I do get a small enjoyment out of it from time to time.

There is no way I'm gonna pick this game as a new player. First - I refuse to start with nothing when others have played this game for 2 years straight. Second - if it took 2 whole years for game to become finally good then it's not worth playing. Might aswell wait a year or two for the next installment.

As a constel player i really don't think its worth playing as only lobbies are crossplay with pc otherwise i cant find a game thats 90% bots and crossplay lobbies from my experience just turns into a pure sweat fest

played my last game last night.They had an update and for some reason my shot were not registering. Shot them point blank and nothing no hit markers or dmg on enemy. This battlefield is beyond what a BF game used to be maps r ugly( except the new one ). Uninstalled it wont be playing any BF from this point on

I gave up on this game. Dice is doing anything to make vehicle ganeplay as least impacting as possible. And thats not battlefield.
