Dennis I had a similar thought to you last year. IFBB should be managing the lineups. Something like UFC...they offer 3 fights a year to everyone. IFBB should do something equivalent and try to "build cards" taking everything into consideration. With the current state you can find interesting storylines, but it feels like so much is left on the table and guys take their IFBB pro status for granted. I'd love to work for the league and do that.
@francisco_____tfrruiz___po40647 ай бұрын
The reason why the IFBB Pros aren’t doing Detroit pro is because Fouad needs to be more careful on what he says about these pro bodybuilders on his podcast. The athletes aren’t going to compete at a show were they don’t feel comfortable with the promoter. The lineup for this show is weak for the prize money being rewarded to the winner and top 3.

It gets spoken about alot how guys don't compete as much as the 1990s guys. Is it financial? Could it be because the prizemoney for most shows is quite dismal as well as guys in the 90s were on contracts, so were earning good cash even if they didn't place well and if they made prizemoney it was a bonus, plus the contracts they were on stipulated they had to do so many shows a year?? Also 90s guys would get work after the shows doing guest posing exhibitions, selling pictures and merchandise etc and that money isn't as available today compared to the 90s. Financially are today's guys making better money online through instagram and through sponsors posting stuff online, doing podcasts and selling merchandise through these means as well as doing online coaching etc compared to if they competed more??? Is it that today's bbers have different income streams?? Just a thought as not really sure where guys make money from these days compared to previous generations.

The reason these new Pros aren't hungry to jump in to a pro show is because they deep down know they're not very good. Most of these Pros turning out today are nothing like the caliber of the pros from the 90s they just want a pro card to brag at the local gym. Pro card is a joke nowadays

I would say that is true for a few competitors but the main reason is the timing of the show. It is in a weird spot where it is a few weeks away from the Arnold Classics (so the top guys wouldn’t do it, and the placers would go to make improvements after a long prep) and it is a few weeks before New York and shows close to that
