Sct Ma... This was apt... Have you heard of the STP program(Scientist training programme) is a three year work base learning supported by a university accredited masters... This program confers one with a clinical scientist title, Msc.and more defined responsibilities... You work and have intense advance training rotated through academics, clinically, research wise or any field you can think of. You inteteact more with patients and general mankind in their treatment and proffering solutions to issues involving in areas such as research, pharmaceuticals, biotech, etc immunology, biodata, chempath, radiography, neurology, physiology etc( they are too many) ...you will have a wider responsibility in any chosen field... Research about it. Then the HSST(Higher specialist scientist training) programme that is a five year PhD programme which is also work base, clinically base, research, or any other broad sector you like. Here, you become a consultant clinical scientist...... Just as you were talking about biotech, you can be a clinical scientist in biotech and eventually become a consultant clinical biotechnologist ....... you can achieve what ever role you Deem fit to get your hands on. Majority of your lecturers in school followed this path but they had a flare in academics... There are people who will have a flare in research, clinically, pharmaceuticals, food and water, industries, Medical ICT, virology, histopathology, microbiology, biochemistry etc. This role makes you equivalent to a specialist MBBS holder in pathology or specialties alike. Just research about it.. Wish you the best Ma.

Hi Divine, thank you for your comment and the in-depth explanation. I know about the STP and HSST pathway and infact I applied for one of the program before my master's. There are some loops to this path, But I am currently not interested in this path for a career at the moment but I love the thoughtfulness and I believe that this can bless someone that checks it out. Thank you💖

Due to your experiences (career wise, academic wise etc), which specific area in BMS, do you recommend? These are the research areas. Hi 👋 Oluwatosin Thank you so much💗 I have some questions first. 1) Does your course require you to choose an area of speciality or this would be in your last semester? 2) What's your strength speciality wise.. What's is the one area that you love that if you were to be assessed right now. You would pass 3) Is there an area/speciality where you want to improve in 4) What area do see yourselves working in future...

@@aliceakinola 1. Choose an area of specialty before I start 2. I love cardiovascular and renal sciences 3. I would love to go into cancer development since no cure as been found yet .. it will be great to be part of that 4. Cos I’m generally interested about the body and it’s general well being .. possibly cardiovascular and renal sciences I was also told by someone studying BMS In the uk that I should go for epidemiology cos that will most likely get me a job quicker . What do you think?

Hi Oluwatosin, Firstly no matter what you do if you are good at it and persist you would get a job, there are jobs out there you just have to be able to stand out to recruiters. So if that's the only reason you are considering epidemiology then it is safe to say we can cancel that out. Cancer development is an interesting area with prospects, lots of funding that also comes with competition and other good perks; bottom-line you must know your onions regardless of the challenge it would come with. Cardiovascular and renal science seems like a safe option because you already love it, so it is also one to consider. At the end of the day most people would pick a job they like over one that pays more, because you would need that love and strength on some days. In conclusion, you alone can make that decision, as much as I would love to tell you what to go for, You know yourself and you would have to stick with the consequence or aftermath of this decision for at least the next 1 year. The ball is in your court and I wish you the best.

Hi First time hearing about this website, I had to search it up. It seem legit enough on first glance and it seems recognised also in the IK. Now I can’t outrightly tell you whether or not to use it as I haven’t heard or used it prior to today . But I don’t think it would be an issue.
