I don't understand when gay or lesbian people discriminate against bisexuality you know what its like to be judged because of your sexuality, why do it to others? Why is it so hard to comprehend that a person can be attracted to two sexes? Its like saying 'I like people with blue eyes' 'I like people with brown eyes' 'I like people with blue and brown eyes' 'Wow, greedy' Like? What the fuck, no
@JamboJoel10 жыл бұрын
The thing is if you are a lesbian, most likely you won't be able to understand the same feelings or confusing feelings, because in the end they also might have felt confused and for them we stayed in the confused ''phase'', usually they don't get why? And that I can totally understand - but the thing is many don't try understanding us.

I think it is meant as ''lesbians/gays'' know what it is like to be hurt - why would they do the same similar thing to bisexuals. Well, it is strange.
@kalleseppala914810 жыл бұрын
Well, myself I am a bisexual, but first I thought I was streight and I might have never noticed my sexuality if I hadn't opened my mind for the idea. I think people tend to choose the side that is stronger inside them and follow it blindly, build a wall aganst the other side. I think that most of the people are at least a little bi and those who call theirselfs bisexuals are just the most confident ones and the most in the middle so it is not possible to say what side would be dominating.

No. The fear that bisexual women will leave lesbians for men is completely rational. There was a poll done a few years ago and it revealed that out of bisexual women in relationships, 85% were dating men and only 9 or 11% (can't remember now) were dating women. And don't give me this BS about how hard it it to find women, we know, but that doesn't stop us. When you are into someone you don't let anything get in the way. Just look at gay men. There are probably an equal amount of gay men to lesbians and yet it doesn't stop them from having a better sex life than even straight people, who are the majority and have the most choice. Gay men will risk their lives trespassing to have sex in dark alleyways and forbidden places. And what do we have? Nothing. There is no queer female hookup culture.

I completely agree with this video. Women should never under any circumstances refer to other women as 'sluts,' or 'whores,' no matter their sexuality; it invites sexism, and vilifies sexual expression. It is incredibly challenging being a bisexual man or woman. Bisexual women are excessively sexualized in heterosexual pop. culture, and marginalised by many lesbians. And sadly, bisexual men are still ostracised by heterosexual women, whereas at least _most_ gay men embrace, and even fetishise bisexual men.

The one I get more often is "bisexuality is just a phase, its ok, just come out of the closet already" like ahh nope, im out the closet im so out, you are just not getting it. And you know, in my personal and limited expirience, men sexualize you more often and confuse bisexuality with polyamoury and them just plain old orgys but once you crush that stereotipe they are more like oh ok cool ty for explaining it (not all of them, some are just jerks but the one I dated was a sweetheart) and I had a lesbian literally say to me when we were kinda flirting "oh oh so you are bi, oh, sooo hoe bi are you? Is it just like you are a lesbian that has been with men before coming out?" And the you say "no, im bi" and then she suddenly gets a misterious text and has to go. And the one that takes the cake is "you are transphobic, because you would fuck anything but trans and nonbinary" like wow, and it most often comes from the lgbt+ community which is the thing. No safe place.

I first liked girls before boys. It was on 4th grade when I had this major girl crush and then on 7th grade I had feelings to a girl again and it's way more intense than the last time. I was brokenhearted when I found out that she has a boyfriend and on my 8th grade I started to like boys. It was crazy really coz I fell so in love with a boy on my 9th grade. Just recently I had this sexuality crisis. I thought liking girls and boys before at the same time is just normal but now I realized something about myself after watching videos like this and some other real lesbian couple like Rose&Rosie and Lucy&Kaelyn. I have a boyfriend for 2 years now and it's really confusing right now, to where I have to stand. Honestly, sometimes I thought of myself being with a girl and what it's like to have a girlfriend. But I still have that fear in me coz I don't know how the people around me especially my parents and friends will react to this...I'm so terrified...and now after realizing everything I know in my heart there's something inside that has to be confirmed coz there's no other way to make this weight feel lighter. I think I am bisexual. Maybe I am bisexual. Yes, I am BISEXUAL.

I'm a bisexual woman. I have a boyfriend currently, he's really femmy, but I love him. He is bisexual too. I like women more actually, but it doesn't mean I'll drop the man I have now for a woman or another man. I love this man and we giggle at how we both look at people like 'your type?' "eh.. too girly for me.. what about him, he your type?" 'those muscles though..' "right" I'm not a slut cause I like both, I'm not confused either. I'm just me, and I have family and friends who support me. the people who shame bisexuals that are in the LGBT community should really step back. you want equality.. so why bash someone when you didn't like it happening to you before. it's called "lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans" community. any who bash others for being bi are being just as bad as those people who say were all going to hell for loving who we love. think clearly, don't be the like the ones you fight.

Here's the thing. The reason us lesbians 'hate' on bisexuals is because we're scared of them. Seriously, we don't understand them. Like, we don't understand how you can be with one gender but still want the other, it's just hard grasping the concept. Chances are, we've all been hurt by a bi girl who said "it was just a phase" or been dumped for a guy. The one main reason, for me at least, that I'm hesitant about dating a bisexual, is the fact that I could be the best girlfriend in the world, but that's not enough because I'll never be a guy. I'll never be able to satisfy my hypothetical bisexual girlfriend because there's always going to be that part of her that wants a guy. That's the worst feeling in the world; giving everything you have to someone but knowing you'll never be good enough. We joke around about bisexuals in order to hide our fear of getting hurt by one.
@anajuvan412610 жыл бұрын
I'm not bitching, I'm just trying to explain it from a lesbian viewpoint :)
@ellev722810 жыл бұрын
As a queer girl who is attracted to both men and women, this is so so so frustrating. When you say that "there's always going to be a part of her that wants a guy" that is just SO ignorant and unfair. It basically assumes that we are not genuinely attracted to girls. If I date a girl, it's because I want to date *that girl*. It means I'm attracted to her physically and emotionally, and men and penises just don't factor into that equation. I like that she's a girl, and I *like* that she has tits and a vagina. I'm not thinking about men at all. So many lesbians have this idea that bisexual women just crave penis, which is ridiculous, and quite frankly, slut shaming. Do not use your insecurities as an excuse to demean bisexual/queer girls.
@wutthefacts17410 жыл бұрын
Agreed!! I'm a lesbian and wouldn't date a bisexual only because I would be insecure and worried they would eventually want qualities from a man that I do not have or they would date a guy after me. It would be in the back of mind. It's easier to pass judgement of something we are afraid of.
@xAaeiynx10 жыл бұрын
I understand where you're coming from, but I think that's everyone. Nobody wants to feel rejected regardless of their sexuality. I'm bisexual, I think men and women are beautiful and wonderful. I am in a committed relationship (5 years), but I still find attractions in other people (but I don't cheat, I stay faithful). I'm sorry that you feel bisexuals are at higher risk of hurting you, but it's hurtful to read that you stray away from bisexuals because you're afraid. That's like saying you'll be lonely for the rest of your life because you don't want to get hurt. TBH, life is a journey, and we all have to experience the bad. It happens to everybody. Doesn't matter who you are. I don't think it's OK to exclude yourself just because you're afraid. It's hard, but you never know where you'll end up, if you don't continue pushing through. Just like how you feel insecure, I'm feeling insecure and that being bisexual is not OK, and it's the same feeling that I'm sure you feel when you get ripped for being a lesbian. I've been rejected, burned, but I march on. It's part of life.
@erinmkelly8910 жыл бұрын
Why is it scarier to imagine a girl you are with later dating a man, than it is to imagine her later dating another girl? Either way it is another person, and it's always possible that the person you're dating could later date another person who is different from you and has different qualities, so I don't see why it's fundamentally different when a difference of gender is involved? That's one thing I don't understand and I'm honestly curious, if someone who's a lesbian and feels this way wants to answer! :)

I was so mad at first because she was basically comparing every girl that's bisexual to the ex's that had done her wrong. She had stopped dating bisexual girls for a while because of this, (until we met) then she had finally gave me the chance to show her not everyone is the same. This actually gave me something to talk about in my next video. Thanks Stevie

Bisexuality IS a thing and it is alright to be bisexual. Asking or telling them to choose between male or females isn't something you as an individual have the right to do. It is exactly the same as asking someone to choose between savory treats or sweet treats. Why is it that society is only looking at the black and white and not paying attention to the grey? No matter what people choose there is always going to be haters and that gets to me. Why cant you all just keep you mouths shut and allow people to feel what they want and how they want, whenever the fuck they want to. You cant tell anyone else what to do exactly like you cant change someone else's point of view on Love. For love comes in many different shapes and forms, and NO ONE has the right to tell someone that the love they express is wrong. Start seeing the grey instead of just black and white until you do, keep your mouths shut because your opinion isn't important enough to matter.

Although I love that you defend bisexuals (as I am one myself) there is one thing in your video that I didn't like at all. When you spoke about people who got or get raped, you COMPLETELY took men out of you equation. I mean I know this is a video obviously adressing women being bi, but when you talked to your thousand of viewers who were molested, whances were that men were amongst them, men being raped is just as real an issue as women being raped, and this NEEDS to be adressed when mentioning rape, regardless of the aim in your video. But aside from that I support your message 100%, because I'm seriously tired of people telling me they won't date me because they're afraid I'll cheat on them. That is so unfair, so thank you for fighting against it :)

I was watching this on the way home from school and it really got me. I'm 14 and quite mature for my age. People usually say that I look about 16 ish. When I was 11 I was sexually assaulted in a shopping centre with my family. Since then I have been sexually assaulted multiple times. I always thought it was my fault. I shouldn't have worn the skater skirt with knee high socks, I shouldn't have worn a V neck top etc. When she said " it's not your fault " it really got to me and I hope that some how I can make myself believe that it really wasn't my fault. Since the first assault my anxiety and depression plummeted and I'm getting help for it and hopefully through that I can begin to like myself again. Thanks Stevie, I really admire you as I am also bisexual and you sticking up for both topics makes me really happy. Love you xxx

Ok here's the deal I have a boy friend. I'm a female. I might be gay. I might be straight. But how the heck am I supposed to know whether I am or aren't. I'm not greedy. I just look more on personality than physical attraction. I'm not calling you selfish if you're 100% lesbian and you only like women so don't call me selfish for liking both genders. Jesus I just heard about this today and this is right after the Supreme Court ruling on equal marriage. Before the school year ended I came out to a few of my close friends as gay. Now I'm not so sure. But I ask you this. Why do I have to decide? I have made a promise to myself that in middle school if anyone asks me out I will give them a chance. If they are gay. If they are straight. Male. Female. Trans. Whatever. I will give them a shot and who knows, they might just be my soulmate. God. Sorry for the rant😊

+BBG Bi does not mean two genders. The two of bi means same and different. Yes, this means pan and bi overlap. No it doesn't make them the same. I know you're trying to be helpful and you probably didn't know this, but the whole bi = 2 thing is another thing people use to discriminate against bisexuals. People claim it excludes non-binary people and call people who identify as bi transphobic because of it.
@astronaut36969 жыл бұрын
strawberrylemonades I mean, if you want to get technical, the definition *is* 2 genders...and even if it was, noone said it has to be men and women. Even if it did mean just men and women, how does that make you transphobic? I like men and women therefore I hate transgenders? What?? But anyways, sexuality is not from a book. You can still be bi and not be attracted to your own gender so it doesnt have to be contrasting... so it can go both ways

Totaly against rape here, and I appreciate that it is a hofficily bad thing, and hugley traumatic experience, but I just get a little cringey when I hear girls talk about rape, because I feel the issue is getting more attention than it deserves compared to other pressing issues, such as non-sexual harrasment, violence and murder, and things like that. I also hear a lot of femanists saying that rape is sexist when it's not, a person (I will admit in most cases a man) will rape someone based on sexuality, something they don't control, and normaly can't decide which gender they're going to rape. It's not degrading towards women in the same way that a punching a man in the face isn't degrading towards men, or raping a man isn't degrading towards men. Another point I would like to raise is that although it's never a woman's fault if she is sexualy abused, women wearing more revealing clothes, or clothes that are made to be more sexually attractive, are going to be more likley to be abused sexualy, because potential rapists will be more attracted to that person. So a woman has the right to wear anything she wants, and it's always the rapists fault, but women could decrease their chances of being raped by wearing less revealing clothes, which is an unfortunte truth that will probably never be changed, as it is hardwired into the DNA of people who are attracted to women. anyone care to share thoughts?
@rubymimosa10 жыл бұрын
I'm going to disagree with your last point specifically, that thinking (or POV) allows abusers to shirk responsibility in people's minds (and pitifully often in the legal system). Never mind the statistics, sexually abused children, etc. Purely as a thought process, it is another way of trying to make the victim wrong. At best it is a superstitious self-comforter (?), ie: 'Rape is scary, but statistically I'm safer because I don't flaunt' kind of falseness of security. I do struggle trying to wrap my head around why so much more mental agony is experienced by rape survivors over other types of physical assault victims. Is it societal? I believe it may be because it sullies feelings about sex. Getting my ass kicked might flashback to me if someone moves too quickly; but getting a rape flashback when my S.O. touches my stomach, well it uglies something beautiful and pure. Yes, I have gotten jumped and beat up before. And yes Krix, I have been raped. I was tackled off a bike. I was in jeans, a sweatshirt, jacket, tennis shoes, etc. And frankly, if a man or woman deliberately got drunk, was butt naked dancing into a frat party and was subsequently assaulted THAT person did nothing more than I did to 'invite' being raped. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a bitch or a downer, I just want to explain why I object to your last point....
@KrixOfficial10 жыл бұрын
That's not what I'm saying, It's never the victims fault, because fault is equal to mistake. People should be able to do whatever they want with their appearence with out worrying about being potentialy raped. I'm simply saying. What I'm saying is that rapists will still be more likley to attack someone who looks sexualy attractive. It's not the victim's fault for looking like that. They're not inviting it, but they're not doing everything they could to make sure it doesn't happen to them either (I'm still not saying that they should have to do more, i'm just saying if they were worried enough they could)
@emmecannizzaro954310 жыл бұрын
It should not be a woman's job to change her outfit to "lower her chances of getting raped," (the very idea is absurd) and considering 1 in 6 women are sexually assaulted, I'd say it's a pretty fucking pressing issue. Also the prevalence of rape in culture is rooted in sexism. Read some fucking books or at least google rape culture before you try to form an opinion.
@Europhik10 жыл бұрын
Emme Cannizzaro She's/He's just stating their opinion, no need to be rude. They are not saying its a women's fault for being raped based on their outfit but because there are perves out there who think that just because they can see it, they think they must touch it that it would be safer to wear more clothing. Calm the fuck down, they are in no way degrading or putting fault to rape victims. And I would have to disagree with you in the whole "rooted" with sexism but that's debatable. most Rape is about power and control, Women can be raped by men, women, other etc and so can man and people outside the binary.
@Europhik10 жыл бұрын
I can see where you're coming from and yes, it isn't a woman's fault for being raped just because she's wearing a revealing outfit and it is messed up that in 90degree weather, some girls have to cover up from head to toe just so they won't cause any crazy hormones that might arouse men. But some perverts have this idea where if they see it, that means they can touch it. Perhaps the solution would be that seeing doesn't equal touching but who knows, this society is messed up as it is.

Being bisexual, I really like this video and you made my ears perk up when you said "hiding behind a façade". The majority of people hide behind a façade. We subtly and not so subtly change our behaviour depending on who we're talking to. One of the benefits in having Aspergers, which I have, is the ability to be bluntly honest and pick this up in other people and within ourselves. I have friends that range from billionaires (and no I've never asked them for money for my own use, as much as I need it) and friends who are extremely poor, which once at a party with wealthy life long friends did not go over well with a business man who was being a snob and I called his shit out lol (the hostess and I are very close). I talk to everyone the same. Of course, this can be hard if I'm ever in a position of customer service, but fortunately I took acting lessons and if need be I am very good at playing the role, doing the façade of happy/cheerful/put up with BS from a rude customer role. People hide behind façades all the time because they want to change themselves to please someone they like or to get something they want from another person; and the want can be a good thing. Like I want a friendship with people, I'm very extroverted (not common with those with Aspergers) so I may unconsciously start to do or say some things that a person does to attract their attention and become their friend. We all do this. Unfortunately, at the same time we imagine what a person is like based on their faults, their life stories, their giggles and smiles (when deep down they may have depression). I could go on and on, but this is deep enough lol. I watch your videos, Ally, Danny, Jelly and Day, Arielle, and more and like them; especially the music (I have a music background) but I hold no preconceived notions as I don't know you personally, only a preconceived notion that you are all kind. I hope that made sense. I'm sure I forgot something in there, I tend to do that. PS Excellent video this is one of my favourites on your channel. As for sex, relationships for me and sex is pretty much nonexistent, not that I would rule them out, but a nun probably gets more action lol.

Great message! I only had a problem with one small thing you said... In the beginning, when you were mocking various comments about bisexuality, one of them was, "I respect bisexuals; I just wouldn't date one." I see absolutely no problem with that statement. You can be tolerant and still have your preferences. I'm heterosexual and paraphilic and completely devoted to equal rights and equal treatment of all kinds of people, and of course that includes gays, bi's, and--insert sexual preference label here--however, I still flinch when I stumble upon a gay male porn video. The point is that I can be disgusted by it aesthetically and still feel that there's nothing wrong with it. You don't have to like something in order to tolerate it. Anyway, just wanted to share this. Great video! Love you Stevie! ;)
@noxfior10 жыл бұрын
The problem being, with this statement towards bisexual people, that being bisexual does not stand in complete opposition with beig gay or straight, it is both, if you will. For example, a heterosexual male it is only natural for him to not want to date another male guy since it goes agains his sexuality, but not wanting to date a bi girl comes from prejudice. A bi person is both compatible with gay people and straight people, there is no opposition of sexuality. The moment a bi girl is dating a straight guy, she still is bi but they are in a heterosexual relationship and her being bi does not mean that she goes around fucking other people or craves vagina while having sexwith the guy etc. Do you cath my drift? so, yeah, even with that statement, the girl was right. Sometimes I think that bi people cach more crap than others, because not only they are not understood or completely erased by straight people, but by gay people too, people that should understand the struggle but are too ignorant/isecure to even want to comprehend what being bi means.
@Bergzore10 жыл бұрын
***** Prejudice and preference are two different things. If a gay person does not want to date a bisexual, that is his or her preference. However, if the gay person thinks that being bisexual is wrong in some way, then that is prejudice. For example, I don't like brussel sprouts and will probably never eat one, but I don't think there's anything wrong with someone eating brussel sprouts. It's just my preference. I don't have to eat brussel sprouts to be tolerant of those who do. Tolerance is one of those things that's often misunderstood. You don't have to like or prefer something to be tolerant of it. Thanks for the response. ;)
@noxfior10 жыл бұрын
Bergzore You don't get it. The WHY a gay person, for example, won't date a bi person of the same sex is the problem. THAT is being prejudiced, having a preference based on prejudice, if you will, but still a prejudice, because although the person is bi, the person is of the same sex so the gay person shouldn't have a problem with that person being bi. I am a straight girl and since I have no prejudices agains bi people I would not mind dating a bi guy because him being bi, thus also feeling atraction to guys, does not go agains MY sexuality, because he is a guy and I am a girl. People who don't like dating bi people often admit themselves that they don't because they think being bi is not a thing, big people cheat, bi people go around fucking everybody, they are afraid of comitment, are afraid that their bi partner would feel the need of having sex with people tht are of the opposit gender of them etc These, all of them, are reaons that either straight or gay poeple bring up when they express their preference to not date bi people, and although it is alright to have a preference in who you want to date, all these motives behind it are awfully problematic and just wrong. They are stereotypes which bi people are fighting agains. If you take these away, there wouldn't be this preference, as you call it, in the first place. Give me a non prejudiced reason why a lesbian would not date a bi girl because she's be. There is no valid, non prejudiced reason. Maybe she prefers brunettes to blondes and the bi girl is blonde, but there is not a reason why a lesbian should limit herself by not letting herself like bi girls since them being bi does not negate at all the lesbian's sexuality.
@Bergzore10 жыл бұрын
***** So if someone told you they don't want to date a bisexual person, you're just going to assume the reason is prejudice? Why not ask them why first? Then you could pass a more substantiated judgment. I am a heterosexual man, so obviously I prefer females. Yet, if I'm looking at porn and accidentally stumble upon a gay male porn video, I bite my lip and quickly look away. In a way, it disgusts me. The same goes for the prospect of eating brussel sprouts. This is because I prefer against these things. However, I am still pro-gay. Confusing? It shouldn't be. I don't have to like or prefer something in order to tolerate it. I would stand up and fight for gay rights and general equal treatment just as any other fair thinker. What you are proposing is a form of dictatorship. You're toying with an accusation of intolerance, but ironically, it is you who are intolerant of other people's personal preferences. I'm done with this discussion. Thanks for the responses.
@noxfior10 жыл бұрын
Bergzore you keep repeating yourself, hon. You are heterosexual. Seeing gay freaks you out. Ok, I understand that. Seeing a big girl having sex with a guy, though? How is that any different from a hetero girl having sex with a guy? You are confusing what bisexuality means andf how it relates to other sexualities. I am not the one confused here. You wouldn't have sex with a gay man, because you're straight. Not with a bi MAN because you are straight. But with a big GIRL? There is literally no difference between a straight girl and a bi one in a relationship with a man, unless you have prejudices agains bi people, which is what happens. Same thing for a gay man, for example. He can have sex with a gay man. He could have sex with a bi man. LITERALLY NO DIFFERENCE. Bi means the possibility to be attracted to both sexes which means that a bi man can have either a hetero relationship (meaning with the other sex) or a gay relationship (meaning with the same sex). Are you disgusted at being in a relationship with a man because you are straight? ok. Are you disgusted with having a relationship with a bi girl? She's a girl thus she is not going agains your sexuality.If, yes, ask yourself WHY would you be disgusted. A girl is a girl is a girl. If she's lesbian, she won't even look at you. Pretty sure that the one confused, here, is you.
