Watching from Ibadan, Nigeria. I love watching walking videos for fun and just imagining how others live. Boise is really clean and retains a sort of small town charm.

Watching from MA! Boise just popped onto my radar recently actually, I spent 3 years in Denver before moving back to New England in 2022. Looking to start a new adventure again and get away from the miserable winters here.

@@livinginidaho I've never been a city person and cities (in my experience) typically don't feel safe, trashy, crowded, etc. I did live outside Portland in 2012 (before it went south) and LOVED that city, the culture, the amazing food, Forest Park, etc. It was the first city I ever liked. But in my mind from past experience cities are dirty and the people that live in or around them are not the friendliest and very different from the outdoorsy mountain loving folks like myself. Boise definitely has a different feel and I hope it's able to hold onto that. I'm looking for a long term home base so I get nervous about what could become of it in the future as well especially with it starting to lean a little liberal. BTW..I was initially looking at Eagle & Star but because those are predominately HOA communities I wouldn't be able to keep my van at my house which is a deal breaker...which is why my search has moved towards Boise. 😊

@@deniseihler7963 - There are plenty of places in the Boise surroundings that could be a good fit for you. Downtown is just a tiny part of it. But if you enjoyed Portland before it went insane, then living near downtown will be a wonderful experience for you. Portland used to be really nice, and Boise still is.

Compared to NYC we are blood red. But Boise is the bluest city in the region. What I like about this area is that people mostly keep to themselves in terms of politics. Not always of course, but it really doesn’t seem to come up much in daily life. Could just be me though. If you want a smaller town vibe and much more conservative, check out Kuna Idaho. I was raised there. It’s only about 25 minutes drive from Boise. It’s also closer to unincorporated land, where you can go shooting whenever you want (with your unlicensed totally freedom loving gun culture, if that’s your thing).

Yes it can get a bit warmer here in the summer times. Bend, Oregon: • June: High of 75°F • July: High of 82°F • August: High of 81°F Boise, Idaho: • June: High of 83°F • July: High of 92°F • August: High of 91°F Other than temperature, is there anything else that has you concerned?

Watching from Portland, OR. Do you have any recommendation on where people can go from Boise for quick vacation within an hour or two of driving distance ? We will miss the Oregon coast if we move there.
@livinginidaho10 ай бұрын
Portland is where we moved from and we do miss a good day on the Oregon coast… though we have been back a few times. A place people go from boise is McCall Idaho. McCall, Idaho, is a picturesque resort town nestled by the Payette Lake, surrounded by the mountains of the Payette National Forest. Its natural beauty, outdoor recreational activities like skiing, hiking, and boating, along with a charming downtown area, make it an ideal vacation spot.
