I lived in Nampa last summer and spent 3 hours in the prison learning the history! So fascinating! I also learned about the Merci Train, boxcars given to each of the states as gifts from France after WWII. Idaho’s gifted boxcar was in one of the old factory buildings. I’d never heard of this gift before but you can look it up and find where each state’s boxcar resides. I am a Washingtonian as well and ours, I believe, is in Puyallup.

What part of Texas are yall from? I live in Austin and am looking for comparable cities in case my family and I ever decide to move out. Can you compare the two?
@AdventuresofAplusK4 жыл бұрын
We are from Austin! Boise feels like Austin before it got big. When I first visited Boise in 2016, before we moved to Seattle (and lived in Austin at the time), the downtown area gave me smaller Austin vibes, with tree lined streets, local restaurants, etc. I really loved it! And we have been back a couple times since and continue to love Boise. The amount of nature close by is amazing and Idaho as a whole is gorgeous! Boise, from our understanding, is becoming more popular and getting more expensive though, similar to Austin. But for now, it seems to be keeping that smaller city vibe that Austin once had. I don't think Boise has the nightlife scene of Austin (we aren't nightlife people, so we cannot speak to that) and it does get colder in the winters (summers are hot!), but it seems like a great place to raise a family like Austin is. Hopefully that helps some!
