THANK YOU! So many disregard Envious because "LMG is for add clear" when it's an amazing perk on Circular Logic. I think both of these are the only MGs to get Envious IIRC. In reality we get kills with our primaries and specials for red bars so often that at almost any point you can have 140+ rounds with 1 Envious proc and 190+ on a 2nd proc. I managed to get a shiny with Appended + Envious/FTTC + Onslaught/TTT. FTTC + TTT in PvP gives you some pretty great ammo economy which was kind of funny. But more importantly I can jam 225 rounds in my mag with Envious x2 then swap to FTTC. It wont proc on overflowed rounds but 150 rounds then 75 rounds of FTTC proccing shots? That's not a bad thing. Paired with Onslaught it's just a bullet hose and I love it.

Yeah, it's basically do it yourself Reconstruction as someone else mentioned. Not sure why people think add clearing on an LMG is the same as an smg. Also some solid rolls! 👍😎

With my Envious/Killing roll with Extended Mad and Back Up mag mod, I was able to get to 216 in the bucket

@AceInTheSpade exactly how to described it as being like reconstruction. It's really is but more of a "do it yourself" but getting kills let's day eith Graviton Lance doesn't take long to get the bucket to 184-216 Then you stow it and get more kills and it's reloads for you with those kills. It's amazing actually. I know everyone is only looking for Rampage/Killing but that's not the best roll for every situation or loadout.

@taberjohnston1399 Yes, aoe weapons work great fir Envious. Yeah, mag is too low for double damage perks to be worth it imo.

u guys are using hammerhead wrong anyways... the best way to use it is with a titan because of actium war rig ..it basically gives it reconstruction... so u can use rampage killing tally on it without having to ever reload the weapon.. For hunters and warlock u will need envious to avoid reloading. Reloading is bad if u havent figured that out

I got Rewind Rounds and Onslaught together, and it feels good for a middle ground between add clear and boss dps, although I prefer it for add clear. My preference is having unique combos anyway, so while FTTC and Target Lock is also available on this, I specifically don't want it because I have it on Retrofit Escapade - I'd rather have Hammerhead for add clear because I don't raid, so I won't get that other one you mentioned.

Agreed. Definitely prefer this more for add clearing.

The think with retrofit is its instability. Maybe MnK players don't notice it but it is a bullet hose and gets pretty unruly. Hammerhead just feels really good. Its easy to lock onto crits. I prefer it for Add clear. I only lock exotic Machine Guns for BOSS DPS becuase they bring something to the table. Thunderlord and Grand Overture especially.

You make a very good point. I play on controller, and that's my biggest gripe with Retrofit. Yeah, for Boss DPS exotics will likley be better 99% of the time.

@@alditocastelo7463 If you have a way to reload quickly with something like a hunter marksman dodge it's decent. Otherwise Envious is better imo as I would often get like 168 shots in the mag paired with appended mag. Rewind rounds can't proc off itself. You have to reload after using up your rewind round bullets, then empty your next mag to reporc the perk again. It just takes way too long without some way to reload faster.

I’ve been using rampage and tally with my Actium war rig. Literally got 742 kills on my first run with hammerhead alone. Never switched guns. Ammo economy is amazing.

Oh yeah, if you pair it with Actium War Rig, ammo is def not an issue. Sounds fun for sure.

I've found myself having way more fun with Recurrent Impact using subsistence and all for one. I can just turn off my brain and it is "good enough" for general use. Of course, it's not void and a different frame, but as much as I wanted to enjoy Hammerhead, I just find it kind of slow(?) or something. Definitely not for me. Great video tho.

Appreciate it! Yeah I agree it's a good LMG, but does feel a bit slugish reloading is literally painful. Recurrent Impact is underrated for sure.

Wanna talk about ad clear? Corrective Measure with Subsistence and One For All. Since its also Void I can get Volatile Rounds going on it too. Maybe not everyone's cup of coffee but its been my Go To for a while now.

Not 100% true. Unless you are doing a day 1 raid or GM NF where min maxing really matters. Otherwise most content including raids and dungeons you can get it done with an LMG if you want to. I've seen people use retrofit on the final boss of warlord's ruin for solo runs. Heck 90% of the gameplay in this video is me running legend onslaught doing boss DPS hammerhead.

Can we stop pushing for lmg dps at all? They’re easy but by no means good. Certain guns have use cases that others don’t have. You wouldn’t claim a legendary shotgun is the best in slot add clear. Could you use it for add clear? Sure. Could it be better than other legendary shotgun options for add clear? Sure. But let’s all remember that the intended use case of the weapon (single target major damage) does not match what the discussion is about, so why is the discussion happening in the first place? It’s an add clear weapon. Is it good for add clear? Yes. It’s got worse auto reload perks than commemoration but is easier to farm.

I get your point and I even mentioned at the beginning rocket launchers and heavy GLs are still going to be the best BOSS DPS Options. But you also have to keep in mind. Some people legit enjoy using LMGs for DPS because despite how good you might be at the game there are a lot of players that aren't very good at using Heavy GL, or Rocket Launchers or want a weapon that can do double duty. Or they just simply prefer using LMGs. Destiny is a game at the end of the day and people are going to use what they enjoy using.

@@AceInTheSpade I agree, I love using commemoration and I’ll often use it in things like gms or other harder content, but let’s not forget that things like thunderlord (which everyone has) and grand overture (from the kiosk) provide far more value specifically for dps. I’m of the opinion that enabling the idea that legendary lmgs can be “insane” dps like other content creators are doing only serves to confuse newer players and causes more harm than good.

@EggyWeggyIII For sure I def don't think it's great for DPS but can be useful still in most game modes. If you really want to min max damage, an exotic LMG for sure is better or rocket/gl
