No, Britain is too soft on politicians, millionaires, billionaires and corporations who do stuff like Michelle Mone did ie take money from the treasury! It’s a big deal if a carer or benefits claimant gets their hands on a few hundred quid but if a millionaire gets their hands on MILLIONS of taxpayers money it’s ok, apparently!
@andrewharper1609

The part you forget is that millionaires and billionaires have often put the money into the system before taking it out. Take myself as an example, I loaned the Government some of my IP 25 years ago because I saw 2008 coming and needed to scale my response to gap fill on demand. That package included Bitcoin, KZbin, Disney's Frozen, John Wick and a lot of other stuff. I've created jobs, understood the economic system, prepared the nation with food banks because religion was falling out of favour and raised funds for 96 business lines to be financed, I also helped set up a highly successful franchise of Allied Dunbar called Welbeck group. If we take money from the Treasury it's usually because the Treasury has said it's OK in the first place or we have anticipated an event the Government has failed to respond adequately to. There's little nefarious about it. You might just as well berate someone for not paying alcohol duty by being a teetotaller. You're breathing in and out, that's IHT avoidance! The problem is sadly a combination of misinformation and agendas.

The UK is currently ranked 3 on the international index of Trade Union freedoms after 14 years of the Tories which basically means we have regular infringements and violations on Trade Union rights and freedoms and essentially puts us on par with Russia. Those are the stats and facts not my opinion.

Actually Britain is too soft on paying people a decent wage because they're too busy giving more money to billionaires. The billionaires are all miserable that they're not trillionaires , it must be so hard for them

Good effort but the armed forces are not unionised. Public and private wage rises have been suppressed since the Cameron austerity agenda. Wage rises in board rooms have soared on the other hand. The disparity between the rich and working class has never been worse. Why does Richard not mention that and keep interrupting peoples answers the way he does with anyone from Labour.

It's not about "giving in", it's about recognising an official industrial dispute where workers have achieved passage through the legal quagmire that already exists to prevent strikes after years of Tory governments. Unions are not the enemy within, the conservative party are the enemy of the worker, always have been and always will be. Remember, they opposed the NHS, the minimum wage and denied giving us a real choice to change the electoral system.

Just remember when train drivers get paid even more for pushing buttons, your train fare also goes up to make up for that so it’s the poorer people in society that loses out still. If train drivers can’t survive on £53k to 87k then there is something wrong. I could live a very nice lifestyle on those wages. We really do live in a terribly greedy world nowadays.

I check online the highest pay is 63k a year before tax for train drivers with years of experience, starting is 24k a year. 63k a year after tax is 46k so they loose almost 18k a year which goes to funding the country. They pay a lot more tax than any billionaire in the country and alot of the mp’s in the former government who avoided paying any tax. That seems fair??

Richard is wrong, there did not have to be a settlement. The public sector and utilities sector have been overpaid since Brown was Chancellor and need a pay cut back to the old ratios in order for the country to start functioning properly again along with abolishing the interest rate completely. The private sector excluding the utilities including rail needs a pay rise the public services and utilities do not. This was a grave error of judgement by Labour and will make the cost of living crisis worse for ordinary people.

Tories have lost forever. All their union lies no longer wash because we have seen that unions and and government CAN work together. So what is the unions back labour… the media back the tories and what????? Also members of the public are not worried at all. Lets have better journalism. I think the tories should shut it for the next 12 months, leave us alone. We genuinely do not want to hear from them.
