I like Mills, and do agree that he holds value in being a veteran leader. Although, our back court is getting a little log jammed and moving Mills makes more sense considering Forbes is basically the same player, just younger and cheaper. If they can move Mills contract to a team that needs a knock down shooter, and receive a valuable rotation piece in return, i think they need to make that deal. Aldridge and DeRozan would need to become the leaders of this young squad, and Murray and White seem to have the mindset of players who know what to do to get it done on a nightly basis. Other players they need to move on from are Marco, do not re-sign Rudy if the money isnt right, i doubt we see Cunningham, Pondexter, or Montejunas again. Draft a SF or C. Best player available in those positions at 19 and/or 29 or trade up if there's a player they see what they did with Kawhi.

Because of the outstanding player development ability from the Spurs, they are now having a sweet trouble from the guard logjam issue. How well will Murray play after coming back from torn ACL? What's the role of White, SG or 2nd PG? How ready is Lonnie Walker to contribute? How effective is Derozan playing SF vs SG? Can the Spurs obtain a decent 3&D SF from draft or free agent? How valuable are Forbes and Bertans in the trade market? Can Rudy Gay sign a team-friendly contract with the Spurs? How does PAFTO value Mills' off-court leadership versus salary flexibility? This is going to be an interesting off-season for the Spurs.

He's basically Mills just younger and cheaper. I say we move on from Mills, and try and receive a valuable prospect in return. Mills can help teams like OKC or LA that need spacing and shooting.

Forbes was actually really good in the play-offs and much better (and younger) for much less money all season long than Mills. Never was afraid of the moment in the play-offs, always ready to ball out. Gotta respect that from such a young player.

Forbes is not underrated. Undersized shoot first pgs are hot garbage unless they are GREAT shooters. Expect the Spurs to trade away Mills for cap relief then in a couple of years get themselves back into cap struggles when they give Forbes a bs 50 mil...
