Nickoleta, it sounds like you have been through a lot of trends in your life and I agree, no one should have their insecurities taken advantage of. This video aims to educate patients on what this procedure is. This is a permanent procedure and its a discussion that should be had with every patient by every surgeon so that patients can make informed decisions. I also agree with you that this surgery isn’t necessary for everyone but we all have something that we would love to change about ourselves and for some people it may be the fat in their face, mine included as you pointed out. At the end of the day you are entitled to an opinion but people are also entitled to make the changes to their bodies that they see fit as long as they understand the risks and the long term consequences of these surgeries.

I typically advise patients to be over 18 years old and encourage people to wait until their early 20’s at the earliest before deciding if thats the right procedure for them.

Buccal fat will shrink to a point with diet and exercise however if you are overall already thin and your face is still full then buccal fat removal might be an option for you. Hope this helps!

Hi Lovely! Buccal fat removal cost can vary from region to region. Here at our office the procedure can be done in office for $3500 however if you want to go fully sleep it would cost more.

I'm in northern california. After my consultation I was quoted $3,250. That includes: local numbing, prescribed mouth wash, antibiotic, one Xanax lol (I requested that), surgen fee and facility fee. The surgen portion was 2200 and the facility fee is 1200. Something like that. The consultation fee was applied toward the procedure. Hope that helps

I have heard that the fat u can pinch in ur cheeks isn't buccal fat. Is it true doctor?

Great question! The fat that you can pinch on the cheeks is all above the facial muscles. The buccal fat lies between your facial muscles so in essence when you pinch the fat on your cheeks it is not the buccal fat.
