Is Business Class on Air Tahiti Nui worth it? TRIP REPORT | PPT-LAX during COVID-19 on their 787

Here are my observations on Air Tahiti Nui 787 business class flying from the PPT to LAX. You’ll get a glimpse of the lounge at PPT, the seats, the service and of course takeoff and landing.

I’m considering flying Air Tahiti Business Class to BORA BORA from JFK. This doesn’t look as amazing as my Emirates flight from JFK to Dubai to Maldives, but I’ll take it.

My wife wants to go to Tahiti for our 10 year anniversary, which is in four years. I have a severe fear of flying and I've never flown over the ocean, just cross country. It's over four years away, we haven't booked anything yet and already my anxiety is through the roof.🤢

No worries…at night you can’t see the difference if you are over land or the sea! The Dreamliner is smooth. You’ll love Tahiti..we went for our 1st and 20th anniversaries. ATN and MS Paul Gauguin with pre cruise accommodations. We will go again…that’s how beautiful it is.

@@cj9667 Thank you my friend, appreciate the reply! I know I'll have to fly eventually, whether it be for work or in my persona life. And I know it's not fair to my wife that we don't travel by airline. There are so many places we want to see, but this fear of flying prevents me from traveling. I've accepted that I'll never feel safe flying. I've tried fear of flying therapy but nothing has worked. The only thing I can do is load up on Dramamine and hope I take enough to stay sedated during both the departing and return flights.

I took my wife for our 25th to Bora Bora. 100% go first class. She has a horrible fear of flying too. The flight was super smooth and she popped a Xanax and was relaxed as a wet noodle. Enjoy your 10th anniversary. No greater place to go on earth.

@@tiperik99 appreciate the feedback! We haven't booked anything yet but for sure would book first class. Was looking into maybe going to Moorea. The only thing I can think of is taking full strength Dramamine on both the departing and return flights to help me pass out.

@@Sanguine_Addiction Air France has a program for fear of flying. Do a search for anything similar in your area if available. As for the ocean, if it makes you feel any better, you have a nice sweet open area to glide onto, rafts, etc. Much better than trying to find a smooth surface on land.

It’s not your fault and looks can be deceiving. I have flown business but not on TN. I’ve booked a ton of people with TN since though.

Heading to Bora Bora next March and just booked the business class on Air Tahiti Nui. We are coming from Texas so we will come to LA a few days before to break up the trip. Any suggestions for hotels in LA to stay close or at the Airport? We have not been to LA since 2016 when we took a 2 week trip from San Fran to San Diego down PCH1, that was an adventure.

Yes, they require a certain type and you have to produce proof in order to even get on the plane!

I am booked to fly business class LAX to CDG on TN in End of July. Do you know if by then they will have full service reinstated? Such as lounge access and onboard services? A side question: are all pre-departure drinks usually alcohol? Do they serve non alcoholic drinks?

From Premium economy to business I paid $1100 per person (for the one way). From economy to business it was something like $1600 per person. I usually get lower than average published rates for the initial tickets in business or get them cheaper in coach and then upgrade at the counter (this is one of them that have that reduced upgrade when you check in).

I enjoyed your vlog but that food service was horrible....I would be ashamed to serve that to passengers and especially to put the tray with the main entree away from the passenger.

I agree their service in business class is subpar. I do NOT feel it’s worth the cost of upgrading, especially since the flights are so short. They do fly LAX-CDG and sometimes their business class product is available at their nonpublished fares, which make them easier to digest. That being said, there are other airlines that provide me discounted seats and it all depends on the best value to my clients.

This appears to be an inferior hard product (no direct aisle access for window seats) combined with a inferior soft product (really bad catering). Compare this to the Air France 777ER business cabin on the same route. AF suffers from neither of these shortcomings.
