I haven't finished the video yet, so I'm not sure if Roffle realizes this later. But C'thun gains *more* stats from minions dying, not less. It used to be +1/+1 for every two minions dying, a rate of 0.5 per minion. Now it's +2/+2 for every three minions dying, a rate of 0.67 per minion. The deck changes probably helped a little, but that's the main buff they did to C'thun.

The deck was very fluffy as well, with cards from classes that support C'Thun Mining Casualties, a Paladin Death Knight card, disregards flavor to make the deck better

80 health was cool in a raid boss way but it massively dragged out matches and showed how crap cthun was. He wasn't good at 80 either, it just meant your execution would happen over the next hour.

I think cthuns biggest problem is that he has to die for doomcaller to reshuffle him in. By the time he dies and you have doomcaller, there is no good chance to play it without setting yourself massively behind on board value

i feel like rework is more accurate then buff. The deck is slightly better, and the improved passive is nice for when you dont discover ushers of souls, but the 45 health nerf is huge. One of Cthuns best matchups before was lerroy just because of the amount of health.

I actually liked the old Dr Boom deck better. Sure i now get 1 armor per dead mech but realistically the extra health buffer was just better. And the old list felt like it was more consistently able to hold onto the board than the new one.

the thing is, cthun has ALWAYS been an "otk finisher", you are litterally incentivized to NOT play it early if it doesnt kill

After 3 friendly minions die give your C'thun +2/+2." i don't play hearthstone, but i know a bit about World of Warcraft lore. if this is the "buffed" version of literally one of the four "Old Gods" that came for a potential "world soul" i would had stopped playing hearthstone just for that reason. "Death is close... for my friendly minions." "You are already dead. After i get that +2/+2." "Your courage will fail. With each friendly minion i have." "Your friends will abandon you. After i get that +2/+2." "You will betray your friends. Because you know i'm in hand." "You will die. After 3 friendly minions do." "You are weak. because C'Thun starts in hand." "Your heart will explode. Because i'm inevitable... Get it? Cause i start in hand?" Your welcome.

c'thun isn't playable because marin is completely broken and nothing comes close. Marin completely broke the twist meta and made every other hero unplayable

They always knew, and stated that health changes were temporary, as they were planning on deck and effect changes on the actual patch and not the hotfixes, several times

The deck and his aura were buffed, the Health buff was never intended to be permanent
