Caitlin’s game is almost flawless. I can only suggest she gets more comfortable finishing with her left hand. She seems to insist on using her right hand on the left side of the basket which can be awkward. She did use her left hand at least once for a layup, but that can be improved.
@jeffg1524
@jeffg1524 12 күн бұрын
I always thought if CC can develop a good midrange jumper and fade away shot she would be unbeatable. She relies too much on either insane 3-ptrs (which may look spectacular when they go in, but are not high percentage shots) or drives right to the basket and gets hammered. I'm so excited to see her improvement next season after a pro year under her belt.
@amyk6319
@amyk6319 11 күн бұрын
I think it is more important is for CC to work on varying her delivery of shots, so they are less predictable. Like being just as comfortable fading to the right for a 3pter as she currently is fading to the left or going left downhill to the basket just as much as she goes right. And because 3ptrs are worth more points, shooting 33% on 3pt shots is considered the equivalent of shooting 50% on 2s. And CC is actually more efficient on those logo 3s than she is from right at the 3pt line. Though adding a floater and jumper around the basket is good to have in her arsenal to increase her variety, you are less likely to get fouled on those shots, so going to the basket when you can is always going to be the better option. It has been statistically proven that longer 2s are the most inefficient shot you can take. CC had a midrange game in college, she just barely ever needed to use it. In college, most players couldn't guard her despite knowing what she was going to do, so she just didn't need as much variety.
@jeffg1524
@jeffg1524 11 күн бұрын
@@amyk6319 Agree. You made excellent points. Having the extra shots means nothing if she plays predictably. That's why I was so encouraged when the coach said he's trying to prepare her for multiple defensive scenarios and circumstances. As for the 3 ptrs and comparing college to the pros, you identified it. In the pros, CC is guarded much closer with better talent. She's trapped on ball screens, blocked on staggered screens, picked up at half-court, face guarded 30 feet from the basket. That's why having a better all-around game and the ability to hit a wider selection of shots is so crucial. If anything, she might be guarded even more fiercely next season, so if she's going to rely on 3 ptrs as her main weapon the team may suffer. Anyway, so stoked for this upcoming season.

I haven't watched the NBA All Star game for a few years but if this does happens I'd be in even it was pay per view just to see it! Steph and Klay vs Caitlin and Sabrina?! That would be insanely exciting! The ultimate finish would be for Caitlin to have the iconic Larry Bird moment where he shoots the final money ball and before the shot even reaches the basket he's got his finger in the air knowing he just sank the winning 3 pointer. Your interview with Coach Porter was awesome! Would Coach White be a possibility?

Sabrina is not that consistent, we saw that in the playoffs! She is very seldom on; by that I mean that she can hit a shot almost at will. Curry & Clark are there. I would be surprised that both Curry & Clark end up tied with perfect or matching scores: supreme confidence and competitiveness. Clay & Sabrina will decide this on whoever has fewer misses. Curry & Clark will cancel each other out. I figure they both can hit their shots almost at will and focus that much more under pressure. Competitive people pressure themselves for this reason. I do pushups 14, if I shoot an air ball and never limit my angles because I might miss; including shooting behind the backboard. I’m 69 and do it for the challenge. Because of the experience factor I give Curry the advantage. The NBA has much more pressure and Curry has succeeded already under that pressure. Clark is unusually calm under pressure doing what she loves.

My honest opinion would be Adam silver needs to pay Caitlin Clark 2 to 5 million for the NBA All Star game cause she will bring in people and revenue for the weekend and the city. Caitlin Clark needs to get a better agent also cause her agent screw up her Nike deal. It should had been for 4 yrs worth 5 million a yr. Caitlin Clark has been with Nike since 2022 for 3.5 million on her nil deal. Then in 2024 she got a new contract with Nike for 28 million for 8 yrs. So just 2 yrs at the end of her college yr she already worth over 7 million. Now with the 11.1 million she made in 2024 she is God in everything. Everything she does and touches turns into gold period. Everything has a price her time is worth millions so Adam silver u need to open up those pockets and pay Caitlin Clark if u want her in the NBA al star game.

Though I would love an interview w/Stephanie White or any Fever player, I would like to see interviews of other WNBA players too. I think there are many great players on other teams who do not get the attention they deserve. And we know your interview would ACTUALLY be about basketball, unlike some in the media who just try to push controversial & divisive narratives to stir up drama. Allisha Gray, Jackie Young, Jonquel Jones, Kayla McBride & Rickea Jackson are some very good player that I don't think get enough attention. I think many CC fans want to find other players to like & support in addition to CC & the Fever. But unfortunately the WNBA & media are too busy pushing only a few players they deem more "worthy" than CC of attention. And I've noticed they also have this obsession with older vets, so any players who have been in the league for less than 5 yrs rarely get any attention or praise.
