Unfortunately, divisional rivalries don't really matter much anymore when you aren't playing divisional games. It's insane that our first series with the Cubs is 2 months into the season and we still haven't played the Reds and Pirates yet... I hate it.

Agreed. I don't like interleague play either. I think it takes away from the All Star Game and World Series.

Great content, I just would like to chime in being a Cardinals fan from Nebraska. I’ve always compared Cardinals Cubs to Nebraska and Oklahoma college football rivalry back when they played each other every year.👍

Agreed, the fans keep it classy and the camera crews for games are great. Always love seeing a couple on different sides of the rivalry 😂

Our rivalry with the Cubs is one of the oldest in baseball and like the Red Sox vs Yankees and the Giants vs the Dodgers it goes back many generations. I’m afraid with the pitching matchups this weekend we will be lucky to get a single win …even if our offense stays productive. The Cubs rotation is markedly better than ours. If I was inclined to make a trifecta bet, it would be on the Cubs tonight and Saturday and on Gray and the Cards in the Sunday matchup. Both Mikolas and Liberatore are outmatched by the Cubs starters by a big margin. We could be looking at some big football scores tonight and Saturday if our offense remains on a roll -but good pitching usually wins out over good hitting.

This weekend is “high stakes baseball.” Indeed. Keep the momentum going. Go Cardinals wax the Cubbies. Time to give Imanaga a reality check.

Cardinals vs Cubs feels like playoff to me baseball no matter when it's played. By the way, most of Illinois, south of the Chicago suburbs, is Cardinals country.

I had a work buddy that always wanted me to go with him to Wrigley and I always declined. Didn't want any part of crime ridden Chicago. He would tell me "You have to see Wrigley! It's one of the most nostalgic stadiums in baseball!" Then he came to work one day and had tickets to a Cards vs Cubs game that was being put on by his Legion.......It was two busses. One with family members and one with Tactical Unit members and our Local Police! I said sure. 🤣👍 Bloody Mary's with our brother's in arms for breakfast! It was the most awesome day! Beautiful weather. Got some up close pics of Sammy Sosa. And the stadium, even though old, looked like a Bob Ross painting. And the cherry on top was we won.....From what I can remember? 🤣 You all have a great and safe Memorial Day weekend. Please remember what the day is for. 🇺🇸👈😉

Cardinals- Cubs is almost like a sibling rivalry. The drive and the passion is there without the all the vitriol and hate NY-Boston has. Im from and went to college in Southern Illinois...so did a ton of Chicago kids. My facebook friends is filled with Cards-Cubs fans almost right down the middle, as is with most of my friends from that area

It's debatable. For the heartland, it's our traditional rivalry. Each team enhances and makes the team what they are, whether it be the Cardinals or Cubs. I mean, Ali and Frazier wouldn't be Ali or Frazier without the other. For me, being a Cardinal fan, I love the Cub rivalry. I actually pull for them in the playoffs except when they're playing St Louis.

I do not like the new schedule where almost 50 games are -a year are interleague. It has taken away 2 series within division rivals.

Could attribute to why the Cardinals haven't ran away with the division so easily. You don't beat up on the same weak teams week after week. Although the team right now isn't that strong

Sosa was just tragically simple minded. I remember seeing him on a pre-season ESPN interview, guy had a full balloon heavy acne steroid face. And then look at him in his post MLB life. Issues. Sadly, issues. Ted Simmons earned my undying respect in those “events.”

Cards have a much more "heated" rivalry with the Reds IMO. More bad blood there.

No! The cards have won more world championships than any team except the Yankees, there’s no rivalry except with the Yankees anymore. But I do understand what you’re saying. Maybe the Dodgers

MLB needs to take ownership of the PED period. The NCAA and NFL 🏈 players were making MLB players look like high school kids. MLB embraced PED use to survive as a business. Waaay past time to stop throwing the best players of the era under the bus, when it was known, and I would say enforced by MLB. They were losing audience dramatically. PEDs have been used since the 50’s. Perhaps even earlier.
