What I notice about guys that use their athleticism too much is that they fail to develop/use their on-court IQ. And there's something that I always say to my cousin. And that is, "Athleticism doesn't mean shit if you don't have the IQ to develop a jumpshot, defense, and passing skills." Those are critical if you lose your athleticism slowly or quickly.
@johndavis93212 жыл бұрын
Big facts you also see this play out a lot with athletic point guards guys like Steve Francis, Dennis smith jr. And even westbrook they tend to play a to be honest dumb brand of point guard break their man down get to the rim for a dunk or a dump off or kick it out for three their is very little nuance to how they play and that goes back to as you said not developing that iq early in their careers because they were faster and could just put jump everybody

I think leaping is a phenomenal attribute, but NBA players make it look obsolete when you can jump decent in comparison, but you know how to use your body, footwork, and angles to dominate a leaper. Most of our favorite players can jump higher than average, but the stop and pops, pivots, seals, and ambidextrous release points make shot blockers with vertical leaping ability look like lunch meat 85% of the time

To me he was the nicest Sierra canyon players we’ve seen since SC has became a natl powerhouse! The thing is guys like CS do need to evolve their game. In particular your right shooting.. very athletic. But saying & many probably will say he’s the best & most star studded at SC in last decade & look at the talent they’ve churned out zire Williams playing for Memphis in playoffs right now.. bagley. Maybe CS will improve with time in league. I think there are those guys in hs that we all fall in love cuz of dunking ability & that too good too early label. Must continue working like u said & evolving game. Hoping Stanley can do that!

Yo's natural fact whatever you study as a kid especially basketball or any other sport let's take basketball for instance if you come in as a dunker and got no shot from your teenage years you're not going to be Steph Curry when you get to the next level just like if you're a shooter you're not just going to get up overnight and freaking start dunking like Michael Jordan it's not going to happen so that's why the best thing to tell the youth is to balance out your game meaning do both for each the only playing history I see that that was Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant those are the only two in mind that could do both
