It doesn't have passwords or save features, but it has a few secret areas where if you jump a few times on the same spot you skip to another world, so it does have a world skip feature, kind of like the flute of Mario 3.

The "Blaze Processing", other than being a reference to Blast Processing, has to be referring to that mouse. I remember being impressed with the super fast scrolling speed when holding a button down to run, especially through the tunnel section at the beginning.

This game it´s a hidden gem of snes for me. I finish the game in the 90s, i rent it several times to manage to finish him. The bad thing it´s not have a save system, and it´s a long game, to finish i need to stay the snes turned on a day long, only doing this to finish.

I don't think I had ever played Claymates until recently. I vaguely recall the title, but I had no idea it was a platformer or anything else about the game. Since I got a Super NT recently, I've been on a mission to go through the SNES library and see which games I want to acquire on cartridge (not an easy task thanks to the huge library, and I'm not even thinking about cartridge values yet). My curiosity led me to fire up Claymates, and at first I was tempted to turn it off... I've seen my share of generic platformers that control poorly and lack originality. But I found myself continuing to play it because it wasn't quite what I was expecting. The game definitely has some originality for sure, and while morphing into other characters isn't exactly the most original idea, it's done well here and with purpose. I think you said it best when you called it "personality." The graphics, characters, and gameplay mechanics all come together to make it feel like its own game, rather than individual pieces of a game assembled together. I agree, it's not the best side-scrolling platform game or anything, it's just a decent, above-average game that is worth at least a play-through. Am I going to buy the cart? Well, that depends on how much these things are going for these days (and I honestly have no idea because I haven't even bothered to look into it yet), but if it's around $10-15 or less, then it's probably worth me buying. That box art is great, too.

That samurai in the red kimono was in Clayfighter on the 2 player versus screen. I always wondered if there was a way to unlock him, as gutting Bonker with a sword sounded nice. Sadly, he was just an NPC. So technically there is ONE person from the original game, I guess.
