The #1 job skill is learning to stand up for yourself and not put up with bad behavior from superiors.

It is hard, but it just takes one generation to break the cycle of construction workplace harassment and psychological abuse. I teach registered apprentices. Listening to some of their stories breaks my heart. I believe in young people! Antonio, thank you for bringing up these difficult conversations. You rock 👊🏼

You're totally right. These things take time. But I think we are moving in the right direction even if it is kicking and screaming.

It is totally toxic. Shi is so stressful for younger men or women, it's like older master's job is to drive you insane, instead of teaching you something, encouraging you or just act friendly.

The company plays a huge role in that, too. Some are much better than others.

If there a good company. Do they still exist……..when the money runs the schedule and the slackers get paid honest quality workers are just caught in the middle. Construction has became unbearable after 25 years. So done and tired of being thrown under the bus. Good luck the real leaders and men and quality have done gone. Shit from above shit from below equals a bunch of shit. Send my check……

I've worked for a good company these past 7 years. I do wish we had more older guys to pass the torch. Good leadership is key. A good leader can make any job bearable/enjoyable. Just my two cents.
