I remember being disappointed by Crash Nitro Kart and putting it into a pretty low tier in the Crash Bandicoot series, but I agree, as a game on its own it's actually nice when I'm not reminded of how better CTR is. Except for Emperor Velo; that one is a way cooler villain than Nitros Oxide. I completed it 101%, got all the platinum relics, beaten Velo's ghost in every track in Time Trial mode and it was a pain I'm not going through again. Crash Tag Team Racing is more fun anyway.

Great video! CTR was one of my favorite kart racers. It just did so much right! The boost mechanic was fun, the tracks were well designed and it had nearly every main character from the Crash series represented (except maybe N. Brio, Koala Kong, and Tawna). I played Crash Nitro Kart many years later and liked it well enough, but it just didn't have the same "punch" that CTR had. It was a solid game, but there was just something about it that didn't make me like it as much as CTR. It was fun for awhile, but they really "borrowed" so many elements from CTR down to many track details/themes and it felt like it lacked its own identity somewhat. However, I think Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is the best of both worlds since it has elements from CTR _and_ Nitro Kart along with a bunch of new stuff. It has tight controls, a lot of content, looks great, sounds great and is a wonderful remake of CTR! The only issue is that the online modes are awful and the game can feel like a grind to unlock everything.

Let's not forget that the zero gravity mechanics are clunky. So you're also better off playing Mario Kart 8 and CTR Nitro Fueled

Maybe so but CNK was ahead of its time. Game was released in 2003 and it's impressive I'd say although it is a little clunky

love ur vids (specially the ones about crash) but goddamn L take, imo CNK is just CTR but better, I always liked how some tracks were inspired from CTR, I always saw them as remastered tracks instead of copies or just inspirations

Nitro Kart, while in development was going to have the CTR tracks. But remastered. It was cut but if you look on KZbin you can find some pre layouts of tracks like Crash Cove that VV was creating. This game was also planned to have two more arenas, 4 more tracks and a yellow token/gem cup. Also cut was an online mode that can still be accessible via emulation.
