i think its more so the impact of society and like the entire world is what deku made the greatest. All might tried to do everything by himself witch made society too relying on him witch gave birth to many fake heros like stain said due to all might the word hero was just seen as a job and lost its real purpose. Deku pretty mutch showed what it means to be a hero and inspired others to act. Like americas prezident was litteraly ready to give up his country to afo, but due to dekus actions he was ready to send all of usa heros to help japan. the bigest showing was in the semi last chapter when the granny(the same one that left kid shigaraki since she fought a hero will do it) helped a kid not become the next shigaraki, becoming that kids hero. most of the class and became great heros due to dekus actions making him the greatest hero since he inspired them to be better, Todoroki, Uraraka and Iida being the biggest cases. i think deku and all might statue prefectly shows it. All might was a symbol but noone had his back. while dekus statue is with his friends since it wasnt just him it was all his classmates that became great since they all had a part in the fate of the world. plus All might litteraly called deku the greatest hero. and yhea like you said in the vid stopping a calamity not even all might finished off. also he completed ofa not in the power sense but what it supposed to do

The difference between All Mights and Deku’s impact is like the difference between someone the whole world would recognize like Alexander the Great while Deku(Also the rest of the squad who helped fight Shingiraki) is like the equivalent of Seal Team 6 Assassination of Osama, the action is generally known in the world but the people who individually put in the work aren’t as remembered

This is exactly how I felt as well. All might had the time to actually have a career out in the open and go out gracefully. Deku came and went in the span of months.

You can tell who did and didn’t read the series based on how they react to the ending. People complaining that Deku isn’t the Greatest Hero of All Time and carrying society solely on his shoulders just didn’t read the series. The Vigilante Deku arc was all about how Deku does not and should not have to bare the weight of all of society’s problems by himself, he can rely on others to bare that weight too. The society that All Might created as the Symbol of Peace where he solely bore that weight was not ideal, it was just putting a bandaid on an infected wound. The society All Might carried led to Shigaraki and the League of Villains and that society’s own demise. Deku is the greatest hero because his actions fundamentally reformed society, something All Might couldn’t accomplish. He led society to not rely on pro heroes for everything, a society where everyone reaches out to help others not just pro heroes, a society that would lend a helping hand to a Tenko, altogether preventing another Shigaraki from happening. MHA’s ending and the goal of “being the greatest hero” wasn’t about the selfishness that people project onto it, demanding Deku get fame and glory, because that is fundamentally counter to the message of the series. One person can’t fix everything wrong with society, it takes everyday people taking action for society to change. Deku is the greatest because he instigated that change.

Short answer: Yes Long answer: deku impacted society and let’s not forget that countries wanted to help Japan bcs of deku’s actions at first they didn’t want to but when they saw deku they wanted to help, and all might couldn’t do the same thing that deku did, and let’s not forgot abt the granny that helped next Shiggy and the inspiration was deku, and all might said to deku you are my greatest hero which already shows that deku surpassed all might in terms heroism

Deku is 100% the greatest hero of all time, that’s the whole point of the story. What All Might did as the symbol of peace was flawed, because it lead to a mindset in society of not taking actions to help others because All Might would take care of it. The whole point of the story is that Deku’s way of being a hero was far more effective. He inspired others to take action and change for the better (for example Lady Nagant and Gentle helping him in the final conflict). So even when they say “oh Deku had help”, that’s literally meant to highlight Deku as a character because the whole point is he inspired others to help him with how he is as a hero and a person. They even state in the epilogue that the amount of villains in the world is way down and there’s less work for heroes. This is why they briefly show the abused child who doesn’t end up becoming a villain because an older woman inspired by Deku, reaches out to him. This is a direct result of Deku’s impact on society. He inspires others to act. All Might’s reign never lead to less villains in the world, Deku’s did, even if it was short. He fundamentally improved society more than any other hero in history. And like it’s mentioned in this video, he beat the greatest villain of all time when All Might couldn’t 💀

Strongest at that moment, maybe?but as career the contribution is kinda similar to all might. Both stop all for one. But all might also keep doing hero career after that and keep being pillar to society. As for midoriya power kinder slowly disappearing and be like the ending.

I think in a vacuum sure Deku actually killed Afo while All might couldn’t do it, but the story does absolutely nothing to convey that he’s the greatest at all. Naruto says he’s finna be hokage, the last shot of Naruto is him in the hokage drip. Nothing like that for deku

The differences between Deku and All Might is that All Might was a symbol and a deterrent that was only ever going to be a temporary solution while Deku is a key figure in fundamentally changing society to the point that a symbol isn’t necessary. Despite not being as well known or as inspiring as All Might, Deku had a greater impact overall.

Deku’s societal impact is greater than all might’s but people in their verse did not acknowledged it or attributed it to him. What all might did was to stabilize the hero society so that people look up to heroes to solve their problems and specifically all might. Though he achieved this by making heroes not try their hardest because of how hero society was constructed and its bases so heroes had no incentives in improving. This led people to over relie on all might and made everyone be more ego-centrical. Meanwhile deku inspired not only heroes but also civilians and basically everyone to act and be better and inspired a revolution in hero society so that every one strives to be better hero and people get involved in helping and accepting others. In my opinion this was the impact horikoshi intended deku to have and what he meant by being the greatest hero. Not only to be a great hero but to also inspire everybody else to be the greatest
