Brees ended up with the Saints because no one else really wanted him at the time. He and the Saints got the last laugh, but don't try to revise it as if the world wanted him, they didn't.

What people have to keep in mind is he'll win you games in the 4th quarter and OT. Overall he'll get it down in crunch time. When you look at his overall body of work in crunch time he gets it done. Last year that head coach got in the way a lot at the end of two minutes in each half in multiple games. Also with a good defense you're asking them to hold the score down while he leads your offense to points which he can do. Every defense he had with the Raiders allowed on avg. 26 points a game. Finally you can turn on the tape and see that his game isn't the same as Andy Dalton's...that's offensive to compare the two. He improved with he fumbling last season and should throw less picks moving forward especially if he's permitted to change the play and protection at the line of scrimmage. The Saints will be more than alright.

Andy Dalton also had top 10 defenses for 5 of his years in Cincinnati and Marvin Lewis for 8 years. Consistency in coaching and a solid defense are essential for a QBs success. So I think the Dalton comparison is not a good one, honestly. I like that a lot of people are hating and sleeping on Carr. Should make for an interesting season.

Dude Mahomes and Burrow are rare birds. Finding an above average to great QB is very hard to be in NFL. Drew Brees had it factor, high IQ, and tremendous hand eye coordination. With a top 5-10 defense and hopefully a health Michael Thomas not to mention AK running the ball and a threat out the backfield as a receiver. And a stud in Chris Olave. With terrible play his whole Raider career in must win games vs good or bad teams, it doesn't matter, Carr will crumble when playoff expectations are present. It's what he is and always has been save for his 2 outlier seasons of 2016-17 (Carr & Mack Raiders won 10 one score games that year) & the still covid year of 2021-22 same thing. Lots of one score wins mostly due to covid roster QB opponents and workhorse Jacobs, clutch K Carlson, as Carr was regressing bad (3rd down %, TDs vs Turnovers) from Nov. 2021 on through his McDaniels benching Xmas week of Dec. 2022 and his 4 turnover must win for playoff chance game at Steelers. Finally a Raider head coach/GM see rhat Carr ain't it and deserved to be benched for his bad on field play in must win to make playoffs games all December 2022. *Panthers & Falcons gonna improve faster than a MedioCarr led Old Saints team the nfl pundits are currently ballwashing for. Derek Carr is a great signing for the Saints - most durable QB in the NFL the past 8 years, has thrown for over 4000 yards multiple times, can lead a team -- I wish my Jets signed him - but when the Jets owner met with Carr last week he should have signed Derek then and there but they made him know he was option 2 behind Aaron Rogers -- the Jets will come up empty handed. I guarantee the Saints will win a minimum of 10 games with Carr next season, and win their division and go to the playoffs.

carr on the jets makes them 3rd best team in the division behind buffalo and miami. then he still would have to compete in the AFC so if by a slim chance the jets make the playoffs they are blown out in the first round.

As a Saints fan It’s hard to get excited about this. I’ve just never thought Carr was that good and this season he had so many weapons and he didn’t deliver. He had like 22 turnovers and his supporting cast in New Orleans is worse everywhere except defense.

With all the cap space we have and I think what we do in FA and the draft and we play a last place schedule I think we’ll definitely win the division.
