Ivar the boneless became a conqueror in one of my game playing in persia. By the time I reach byzantine's border, I noticed that byzantine is just anatolia without constantinople. You know what, ivar conquered all of britain, most of europe, half of spain, and the balkans including constantinople, and the year was 920. That's one of the craziest run I've ever had. I became part of his empire after swearing fealty. So he also reached persia.

@biggybrolunch380918 күн бұрын
Only problem with Diplo, and it's a BIG problem, is that succeeding into a Diplo heir usually doesn't save you from factions because the AI is bad about making friends. Once you get past the initial succession pains, though, you're golden.
@gerritvalkering106818 күн бұрын
Yeah, I was thinking something similar. The succession is going to be chaos
@FrankCapybara18 күн бұрын
It’s really easy! Just secure the succession to a single heir (with feudal electives), invest the fuck out of the education for that heir as much as possible (force him into a diplomacy education). Save up enough money for multiple gifts before dying, and then once you take over your new character, just make sure he has the gift opinion boosting perk as quickly as possible (usually they will have some other perks already unlocked, but you can just reset the perks, dw about the stress, you can fix that later). After that, once the factions start forming, just spam them with gifts and they will break up immediately. I don't think this would fully work with administrative governments though since factions work a lil different for them.
@lauraorrico678617 күн бұрын
Really thought you were talking about the DJ for a sec
@midgematic865916 күн бұрын
@@FrankCapybarai agree with you on thus tactic; I also save up enough before I die so my heir can throw a feast that has the max opinion gain and make the most powerful vassal that hates me the honorary guest (and actually honor them instead of killing them lmfao). You can also do the befriend scheme in the feast to start immediately making friends. Right after you can also do a hunt with the befriend scheme in mind; no need to spend all that much in the hunt since the main focus is to just increase opinion and hopefully befriend another vassal. I noticed that the modifier for how much the vassal liked your past player character does a lot to either help of hinder the transition progress of your next one.
@biggybrolunch380913 күн бұрын
A good idea. I will say that unless they changed the AI since I last played, opinion doesn't actually discourage folks from joining factions, especially if you aren't their rightful liege and they have rebellious traits. A better use of the money might be to use Ducal Conquest to create titles to shove unruly vassals underneath, use Defensive Negotiations to make a powerful ally, or straight up hire mercenaries and "rearrange" your vassals after a nice war.

you should try it on latest start date in italy, there is a 2 county nation there so you can form a duchy almost instantly and then rest just snowballs. With good RNG I think it is possible to form Empire Of Italia in 20 years. Also dissolution factions, they are the bread and butter of high diplomacy characters. Anyone who doesn't like Diplomacy should definitely give it a go.
@Amy_the_Lizard18 күн бұрын
I accidentally formed a cursed border gore empire almost entirely through Diplomacy in my MILF-DILF challenge campaign (members of tge dynasty could only marry people with children.) Started as the kingdom of Alba, vassalized everyone bordering me except most of England, acquired a county in Ireland because one of my step kids (who was already my vassal) inherited it, vassilized the rest of Ireland, conquered a single county in Wales because it's ruler tried to murder my son Ketill (how dare she,) then I vassalized the rest of Wales, then we somehow acquired Iceland - probably because I had 6 kids with Audr the Deepminded, then we somehow got a county in Denmark and vassalized the rest of it, then got Brittany because my stepson (Jarl Haesteinn's son) died and left it to his half-brother (my guy's son) who was already my vassal.

True, but IMHO that perk is not very useful, because you don't really need most of the stuff in the legitimacy path and by the time you get to its end, you probably already have acces to a university and have a family of genius educating genius

Everything on CK3 is broken, every trait is really strong on what they are good, stewardship makes you super rich and stable, intrigue lets you kill everyone, learning makes you a technology center, whats makes you super powerfull, diplomacy allows you to take everything without war... The only one that i feel is not that strong is martial, still really strong for military, but everything makes you have a strong military
@chriselyr248414 күн бұрын
I agree; every tree is a bit OP if you're actively leaning into it. As for martial? I have to disagree about strategist if you're looking to conquer... Hit and run and Envelopment perks can really turn the tide. X

Diplomacy is even more broken since the introduction of the legitimacy mechanic, because if you push your legitimacy to highest level, you get another notable increase to vassalisation acceptance that alongside the true ruler perk can sometimes be enough to overcome even the -200 of a King if you befriend them and max out all the other factors.

Diplomacy is OP, on the proviso you've laid the groundwork for a diplomatic monarch. If you're in the midst of a lot of troubles and have a monarch who is already halfway down another tree, it seems better to sort of double down on it and prep your heir as a diplomat. In my experience x

I discovered yesterday that this strategy gets even more broken if you combine it with a Pacifist religion and a Holy Legend. Completing a fully upgraded Holy Legend gives you the "Evangelize Pacifism" giving the option to spread your religion to your neighbors as well. No having to do the flipflop of converting yourself.

I have 1000s of hours in this game, only recently have I learned the incredible monetary gains from taxation tours. Especially if you start 867 and don't have good development, just give away empty holdings to mayors, making the republic vassals, they don't really waste gold on activities and they tend to save it if they can't spend it on buildings. Just go down left hand side of avarice, and pick the republican opinion perk so they like you more. And friends will usually always pay tribute, if they can afford it.

I got to the point where every campaign of CK3 I play, I eventually start all my kids with a Diplomacy education and then when I take over, I go down Learning, and I literally never have any internal issues. Plus, the game is so easy that in about two or three generations, my army is too strong to be beat by any external threats. It does get boring not doing a roleplay build of choosing any education outside of Diplomacy, but it literally eliminates 99% of the tediousness of the game (and the fun parts. It’s why I have since switched to primarily EU4 🫢)
