just wanna say i really love all of your videos! when i get a short break in my at-home work day on sundays I'll typically watch an episode or 2 while i eat lunch... its an awesome escape for about 20 min. I dont have much time to play NES or SNES or 64 these days, so a short 20 min SNES drunk video is perfect for me to kinda live vicariously through you... also, i have absolutely found a few gems from watching your channel as well... thank you so much!

I remember playing the Neo-Geo Double Dragon, but not Double Dragon V though. The Double Dragon fighting game for the Neo-Geo was released in 1995 and is based on the movie starring Mark Dacascos, and ported to the PlayStation 1 a year later. Love the idea of its instruction manual as a comic book.

You could tell the artists were kinda lazy making this game. Jimmy's portrait is literally a modified version of Billy's. Most of the stages are mirrored in half. And most moves have like 2 frames of animation.

I played this game when I was a kid. Loved it, played it for hours, particularly when I had friends over. Then again, I got my SNES from the Super Mario All-Stars edition, so I never got to play the SNES port of Street Fighter II (since you can't buy that on its own) so this was the only fighting game I had. I still remember it quite fondly (partly because I haven't played it since), although that might have been because Sekka and Dominique were hot. The music was pretty decent too, particularly the Shadow Master's stage theme. Also, you should have mentioned that the PAL version didn't have a bunch of characters that were in the version you're showing here- mostly the really ugly ones like Jawbreaker, Sickle and T. Happy. I don't remember whether they were replaced by anyone else or just left out. Unfortunately the PAL manual also didn't have the comic you mentioned, although it was still really thick because it also included different language translations of the instructions.

Where did you live cause Street Fighter 2 was made available as a stand alone. It was like a year after release that it was put in a SNES bundle. Granted, due to it being the first ever 16 Meg game I remember it cost $79.95 on the day it was released (which is equivalent to a whopping $166 today with inflation) so it was cheaper if you bought in the later bundle but yeah, again, it was sold on its own well before it was put in a bundle, at least here in the US anyway.

Double Dragon V is one of the few games that all the previous iterations were great but missed the marker by a mile. You may argue that Double Dragon III wasn’t (as) great and/or a step back from the first two but I think that dealt more with the difficulty than anything else. When you compare V to Super Double Dragon or even the first 3, it’s pretty disappointing in all aspects. For whatever reason, Kengo: Master of Bushido comes to mind when I think about games that were inherently strong until said release. While I’m not sure if Kengo was meant to be a sequel to Bushido Blade I/II, the fighting style and core concept seem similar enough that you could make the argument, even with a different publisher. On a separate topic: while Rise of the Robots is so, so horrible I’d love to see a video only to watch you tear it apart. Pretty sure it’s the only fighting game where in 2 player mode, player 1 was stuck playing as the protagonist while player 2 could choose anyone: including the Security Droid (or whatever the hell it was called), making the fights last mere seconds.
