Buddhism was not even a religion it was spread of knowledge to attain enlightenment . People made it a religion

On 13th October 1956 before the day of Buddhist Conversion Ceremony, Dr. Ambedkar was interviewed by an English newspaper called “Hitawada”. Hitawada representive :- “Will the Neo-Buddhists follow traditional Buddhism or follow a religion that is in harmony with modern conditions?” Dr. Ambedkar :- They will follow the religion that the Buddha taught himself. They will not engage themselves in the differences of Buddhism. Because that led to the creation of the Mahayana and Vajrayana or other similar sects. This is a type of a Navayana (New Vehicle) only. Again after the day of Buddhist Conversion Ceremony, he was interviewed by well known Maharashtrian Novelist Gajanan Tryambak Madkholkar at Sham Hotel, Nagpur. Madkholkar said, “I think what you said yesterday will not be liked by the traditional Buddhist Scholar’s.” Ambedkar replied, “I never say anything to be liked or unliked by anybody. I speak only what I think is right. That is why I made it very clear in the press conference that my Buddhism is different from both the Hinayana and Mahayana sects. If you like, call it Navayana. Madkholkar asked, “Then why not call this sect Bhimayana?” Ambedkar laughed and said, “If you want to call it that, you are free to call, but I won't say it. I'm a small man. I have not given the world any new ideas. All I know is that His Dharmachakra had been suspended in this country for the last thousand years, I had the luck of restarting it. You Hindus, because of your suicidal attitude, allowed Christianity and Islam to come to this country and grow. So much so that time to tear the country apart came. On the contrary, Buddhism, which is the most rational superior religion, emerged in this land, you have driven this Indian religion into exile. I brought that religion back to its home and I'm proud of that. You Hindus thought that, by declaring conversion, I have placed an axe on your religion, on culture and on the country. But now you know that my conversion is pure Indian and that's going to be the reason for the glory of Indian culture. On October of 1935, I announced the conversion. During that time you people abused me. But twenty years from now, you may have come to realize that, in regards of loyalty over India, I am nothing less than you people. Maybe I am more loyal than you. Because this country has given the philosophical gift to the whole world in the form of Buddhism, that you Hindus foolishly rejected. I donated it back to this country, I'm happy and proud of it. In the introduction of the book “Buddha and His Dhamma” he wrote- “The urge to write this book has a different origin. In 1951, the Editor of the Mahabodhi Society’s Journal of Calcutta asked me to write an article for the Vaishak Number. In that article I argued that the Buddha’s Religion was the only religion which a society awakened by science could accept, and without which it would perish. I also pointed out that for the modern world Buddhism makes a slow advance is due to the fact that its literature is so vast that no one can read the whole of it. That it has no such thing as a Bible, as the Christians have, is its greatest handicap. On the publication of this article, I recieved many calls, written and oral, to write such a book. It is in response to these calls that I have undertaken the task.” He wrote the book so that the new Buddhist people can easily understand Buddhism. The holy book “Buddha And His Dhamma” was written using Pali (Theravada) Buddhist literature, Sanskrit and Chinese (Mahayana) Buddhist literature. I am giving names of the list of books Dr. Ambedkar used to write “Buddha And His Dhamma”. Anguttara Nikaya. (Pali Theravada text) Majjhima Nikaya. ( Pali Theravada text) Samyutta Nikaya. ( Pali Theravada text) Lalita Vistara. (Sanskrit Mahayana Text) Nidana Katha. (Pali Theravada text) Jataka Atthakatha. (Pali Theravada text) Buddhacharita. (Sanskrit Mahayana Text) Vinaya Pitaka. (Pali Theravada text) Mahavastu. (Sanskrit Mahayana Text) Dashabhumika Sutra. (Sanskrit Mahayana Text) Digha Nikaya. (Pali Theravada text) Dhammapada. [Khuddaka Nikaya] (Pali Theravada text) Theragatha. (Pali Theravada text) Chinese Agamas. (Early Buddhist text) Yogachara Bhumi Shastra. (Sanskrit Mahayana Text) Sutta Nipata. (Pali Theravada text) Manoratha Purani. (Pali Theravada text) Vimana Vatthu. (Pali Theravada text) Theri Gatha. (Pali Theravada text) Vatthugatha. (Pali Theravada text) Avatamsaka Sutra. (Sanskrit Mahayana Text) Sukhavati Vyuha Bhashya. (Sanskrit Mahayana Text) Hence, he combined all the important teachings of both Hinayana (Theravada) and Mahayana. His version of Buddhism is a combination of both Theravada and Mahayana. Apart from that the so called “Navayana” Buddhism has a socially engaged aspect to it. The believers are neither completely focused on Arhatship nor on Buddhahood, they are focused on how to eradicate the Dukkha that exists in the world. Nibbana to them is “enough control over passion to establish a kingdom of righteousness”. People should be aware of the false information that is present on Wikipedia regarding Navayana Buddhism. Never expect completely authentic information on Wikipedia. It appears on Wikipedia page of Navayana Buddhism that it rejects doctrines of Renunciation and Monastic life, Karma, Rebirth, Meditation, Nibbana, Realms of Existence, Four Noble Truths - ideas found in the major traditions of Buddhism. These things are totally wrong. Dr. Ambedkar explained teachings of Karma, Rebirth, Meditation, Nibbana, Four Noble Truths, etc in the Buddhist Bible. He did not reject Renunciation of Buddha, he gave a different explanation about Buddha’s Mahabhinishkramana, he also explained Monastic Order (both of Bhikkhus and Bhikkhunis) and the 227 Vinaya rules they follow. There is an All India level Buddhist Bhikkhu Sangha organisation of the monks of Navayana. They are ordained according to Theravadin manner. Dr. Ambedkar did not explain the Buddhist cosmology of 31 Realms of Existence, but he did explain how Buddha was approached by the Sahampati Brahma from the Brahma loka who appeared before Buddha after He achieved Enlightenment and the dialogue between them. Dr. Ambedkar also explained some discourses which Buddha gave to the Deva’s , Naga kings such as Nagaraja Kala, Nagaraja Muchalinda, and Yakkha Alavaka, etc These facts are enough to prove that Ambedkar’s interpreted Buddhism is not different from Traditional Buddhism. It is a Socially Engaged Buddhism with all the important teachings of Hinayana (Theravada) and Mahayana. “Bhavatu Sabba Mangalam”.🙏🙏

Buddhism is the way of showing Truth within oneself and between all living beings. Buddhism was counter revolution to vydhik Dharma.. after Asoka's conversion to Buddhism India was the most powerful country and also has high trade and ethics, happiness. Asoka conquered by peace, no king in the universe who has conquered the world by peace. Buddhism can be interpreted in many ways social, economic, political. Ambedkar also talked about Vipassana. buddhism started as a social revolution against the attrocities of brahmanis in indo-aryan society it's slogan is "bahujan hitaya, bahujana sukhaya", buddhist revolution is a war strategy over brahmanism. >panchasheela >astangamargh >dashaparamithi >dhammachakra pravarthana these four things comprisese the soul of buddhist revolution.and i am not bother to say that buddhism is a social revolution, not individual revolution. as individual revolution-charvaka school, jainism etc class struggle is primary thing for a social change.I stand with Bodhisattva Ambedkar's interpretation of buddhism. by the way "acharya nagarjuna " second most prominent figure in buddhism, but not given status of bodhisattva,Bodhisattva Ambedkar third prominent figure in buddhism given the status of Bodhisattva, when he was alive. Jai Bhim.

Well, we made a video on it and cited a bunch of references. You are obviously free to believe what you want to. Btw, there are no ‘most prominent figures’ in Buddhism. Everyone is accorded respect and revered irrespective of their philosophy and schools. If Nagarjuna is mentioned, then so should Padmasanbhava, Ashvaghosha among countless others. Also a Bodhisattva meant very different things during Nagarjuna’s time. The modern day interpretation of the term is influenced by Madhyamika school, which wasn’t around during Nagarjuna’s time because he was busy FOUNDING IT. With all due respect to the great Dr. Ambedkar, he was not a Bodhisattva- not in the very least. He wouldn’t be considered an Arhat even by the Theravadins. Peace.

Once we refer to the Maslow's heirarchy of needs, we can see how Ambedkar's emphasis on physiological & self esteem needs, and Buddha's self actualization $ self transcendence needs do not compete but align in the same direction. Also we have to keep in mind that Buddha started his life as a prince and saw primarily individual level suffering. He and his family were always revered not ridiculed. Ambedkar faced societal discrimination and his community still faces discrimination and boycott at many levels. Unless that is not uprooted, you cannot sit under a Bodhi tree safely and practice meditation! In my opinion Buddha should be very glad that Ambedkar finally took the New Vehicle, threw out the redundant parts, and re-energized it to emancipate the masses.

@@indieA Partly the problem is Dr Ambedkar passed away pretty soon after initiating formally as a Buddhist. I am sure if he lived 10 more years many of his ideas would have come to light. However there are others who too think in the same line and focus more on "living a holistic examined life" aspect of Buddhism and not just as an esoteric monastic dogmatic doctrine. Buddha never assigned any successor and never made any ultimate truth claims that many of the traditional Buddhists do and fall prey to sectarian divide. One can refer to Stephen Batchelor's Skeptical Buddhism which aligns more with Navayana than any traditional model and he for that matter has been trained in these schools for decades and chose to highlight the pragmatic and ethical aspect of Buddha.
@asanvigyan92753 жыл бұрын
Well it is true that Dr Ambedkar might have not spent much time on the "no self" aspect of Buddhism. At the same time even the seasoned Buddhist and Buddha were never free of a social self identity either as a bhikkhu, arhat, Lama, or any such role. Ambedkar too is referring to the enforced social identity of communities that has been one of the root causes of suffering and annihilation of caste would lead to cessation of that suffering. In one form Ambedkar did embody the teaching of Buddhism is in the way he galvanized such a huge community in a peaceful yet assertive way when dealing with multiple oppressors be it British, Muslims or Caste Hindus. All his criticism towards caste Hindus and so called "Hatred" were towards actual injustice being meted out to them and he never resorted to unnecessary violence nor promoted it.
@indieA3 жыл бұрын
Dr. Ambedkar passed away too soon, yes. Navayana doesn’t have any centralised holy text in that sense- just some loose essays along with his ‘Buddha and his Dhamma’ which many argue to be ‘the scripture’ when it’s really a treatise with mild commentary; it was published posthumously. So a religious movement wasn’t crystallised by Babasaheb in his time. But that’s what’s common between him and the Buddha. Buddhism has always been carried forward by followers and their interpretations. Your point on Arhats, Lamas and other initiates giving up their social identity is true but it’s not connected to the Anatta doctrine directly. Either way, one can argue this is the real revolution instead of uniting under one’s pre-conceived social identities and holding onto them while working to overthrow oppression. These are very different orientations. Buddha may have been privileged enough to only look at the problem of Suffering in individual light but the Sangha does solve that problem in many ways. He never asked to overthrow oppressive forces. That’s the point. It’s amazing how Dr. Ambedkar critiqued Caste Hinduism, Islam and British Imperialism but not many credit his aversion to Communism as well. He charted his own path, really. Thanks for highlighting Skepticial Buddhism. Will check it out. Many praised Early Buddhism as the Skeptical school of Dharmic Philosophies along with the Neti Neti doctrine. The west had Pyrrhosim while the East had Buddhism. Both schools had a lot of cross-cultural exchanges as well in the ancient world. Just one last point- Early Buddhism already had a very strong ethical aspect which practitioners consider as the base requirements to initiate the quest for Nirvana. Pragmatism on the other hand has been a challenge since Gautama Buddha’s time. Good talk! :)

Dr. Ambedkar had adopted Buddhism as a liberating tool for Dalits. His aim behind it was to liberate Dalits from the hellish caste system of Hinduism and usher them into a casteless Buddhist social order. It was not only a change of religion but a way to economic and mental liberation of Dalits. Dr. Ambedkar had left Hinduism on 14th October, 1956 along with 5 lakhs (0.50 million) Dalits & adopted Buddhism, a religion based on liberty, equality and fraternity. Through it he aimed at ending sub- caste division of Dalits and unite them under a single identity as Buddhists. It was expected that after departure of Dr. Ambedkar Buddhist conversion movement will gain momentum and more and more Dalits will leave the Hindu fold to join Buddhists. He had established Bhartiya Bauddh Mahasabha (Indian Buddhist Association) to carry forward the movement of Buddhist conversion. During his lifetime many Buddhist conversions were arranged in different states and a large number of Dalits left Hinduism and switched over to Buddhism. It has been established that Dalits who have adopted Buddhism have progressed much more than Dalits who continue to be Hindus. It is quite evident from the statistics of 2011 Census Report. According to these figures the Sex- Ratio of Buddhist men and women is 985 as compared with 939 of Hindus, 951 of Muslims and 903 of Sikhs. The Sex- Ratio of 0-6 years Buddhist girls and boys is 933 as compared to 913 of Hindus and 828 of Sikhs. According to this Census the Literacy Rate of Buddhists is 81.3 % as compared with 73.3 % of Hindus and 68.5% of Muslims. Similarly Work Participation Rate of Buddhists is 41.3 % as compared with 41 % of Hindus, 32.6 % of Muslims and 36.3 % of Sikhs. These statistics show that sex-ratio, literacy rate and work participation rate of Buddhists is much higher than Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs which shows that Buddhism has helped them in their development. The above analysis clearly establishes that Buddhism has helped Dalits in their development. It has brought a qualitative change in their lives. They have left the old dirty professions. Their living standard has improved and their family lives have changed for better. Hence it was expected that with positive influence of Buddhism, more and more Dalits will leave Hinduism and convert to Buddhism and their population will increase considerably.

Missed this comment in the morning. We just hope you have actually watched our video, because our critique is on whether Navayana can be integrated into the larger Buddhist Canon; and if it can be considered as a legitimate school of Buddhism. The video is not a critique or an analysis to see if Buddhism is working or not working or not going to work for Dalits across demographic parameters. Having said that, thanks for the detailed analysis. While the parameters you have quoted (without getting into the source material details and legitimacy of the data) clearly favour Buddhism, you will also need to understand the saliency/ incidence of Buddhism among Dalits versus Hinduism and Sikhism respectively. The base may be really low for Buddhism which could skew the data both ways. Can you help with that data as well?

Also, the qualitative angle could be merely subjective, but the sense of cohesive community that Navayana brings with it might help in this regard- so no questions/ objections to that claim.

When Ambedkar chose Buddhism he also made sure that the Hinayana Buddhism should be modified to Navyan because of the time we SCT ST and OBC were living In. The SC ST OBC were living in the worst atmosphere of the Indian era. Full of discriminations, not allowed in public places such as wells temples schools. They were basically untouchables. Due to this Ambedkar made sure to teach a new lesson to self called high caste Brahmins and thus Navyana was born. Which was a modified wheel of Dhamma for SC ST and Obc unity. Also Buddhism was divided in two wheels after the death of Buddha which was Mahayana and Hinayana. Hinayana was the true form of Buddhism. If you probably don't know then Hinayana Buddhists most of them are forefathers of Shudras because they were allowed to eat the meat of only already dead animal. Which was considered untouchable by Brahmins as they were killing animals in Bali Paratha of which buddha already criticized. Buddhists ate meat of only dead animals if they were eating. Also Buddha ate meat. Since the Navyana was made for the equality to fight against the tyranny of Brahmins and the Bhatt's of temples who were direct responsible for spreading hate, discrimination and also violence. against women and Shudras and Atishudras. If casteism doesn't exist then go and read the case of Hathras. Also the case when a Brahmin priest raped a 6 year old girl in the temple premises. Hinduism is fragile and will fall because of these Brahmins.

Thanks for taking time out and typing such a long detailed comment! Can you please help with the sources for the following- 1. Division of the two wheels as claimed by you? We ask this because Mahayana is widely considered to have developed centuries after the Buddha. 2. Where is it stated that Theravadins’ (we prefer this term to Hinayana) forefathers were shudras? We ask this because from our research, the early adopters of Buddhism were from urbanised cultures with higher castes converting initially. Also, we have never said anywhere in the video that Casteism doesn’t exist. That has nothing to do with this video. Our critique is on philosophical, spiritual and metaphysical grounds only to assess if Navayana and Buddhism are compatible. The sources requested above would really help. Cheers!

Man must grow materially as well as spiritually. Society has been aiming to lay a new foundation was summarised by the French Revolution in three words, Fraternity, Liberty and Equality. The French Revolution was welcomed because of this slogan. It failed to produce equality. We welcome the Russian Revolution because it aims to produce equality. But it cannot be too much emphasised that in producing equality society cannot afford to sacrifice fraternity or liberty. Equality will be of no value without fraternity or liberty. It seems that the three can coexist only if one follows the way of the Buddha. Communism can give one but not all.*

Have you ever noticed why did he choose to create Navayana?. You must have adequate knowledge of what is true or false. He rejected but didn't freeze us to not choose other sects of Buddhism. Now our people are also moving towards monastic principles. His vision was to ready untouchables for social and economic development, not ritualistic development. So he thought what we think is right. According to my experience, liberty is not possible in Hinduism. Numerous volumes of the Buddhist scriptures are exploited and only Therāvadā scriptures are real evidence. Everything has a cause. What is your root cause for making this video?

Dr. Ambedkar was part of protestant Buddhism, there was a search for " Scientific Buddha" by foreigners during the colonial era. He was exposed only with to this Orientalist point of view, and the basis of his view has risen from this background. Very well researched video 👍. Relying on linear scientific materialism will not give the full picture of Buddhism, rather a false one. Sravakayana, Mahayana, and Vajrayana all are original Buddhism as per the karmic connection. @@indieA Buddhism is a faith that was founded by Siddhartha Gautama (“the Buddha”) more than 2,500 years ago in India. With about 470 million followers, scholars consider Buddhism one of the major world religions. Its practice has historically been most prominent in East and Southeast Asia, but its influence is growing in the West. Many Buddhist ideas and philosophies overlap with those of other faiths. Followers of Buddhism don’t acknowledge a supreme god or deity. They instead focus on achieving enlightenment-a state of inner peace and wisdom. When followers reach this spiritual echelon, they’re said to have experienced nirvana. The religion’s founder, Buddha, is considered an extraordinary man, but not a god. The word Buddha means “enlightened.” The path to enlightenment is attained by utilizing morality, meditation and wisdom. Buddhists often meditate because they believe it helps awaken truth. There are many philosophies and interpretations within Buddhism, making it a tolerant and evolving religion. Some scholars don’t recognize Buddhism as an organized religion, but rather, a “way of life” or a “spiritual tradition.” Buddhism encourages its people to avoid self-indulgence but also self-denial. Buddha’s most important teachings, known as The Four Noble Truths, are essential to understanding the religion. Buddhists embrace the concepts of karma (the law of cause and effect) and reincarnation (the continuous cycle of rebirth). Followers of Buddhism can worship in temples or in their own homes. Buddhist monks, or bhikkhus, follow a strict code of conduct, which includes celibacy. There is no single Buddhist symbol, but a number of images have evolved that represent Buddhist beliefs, including the lotus flower, the eight-spoked dharma wheel, the Bodhi tree and the swastika (an ancient symbol whose name means "well-being" or "good fortune" in Sanskrit). He decided to give up his lavish lifestyle and endure poverty. When this didn’t fulfill him, he promoted the idea of the “Middle Way,” which means existing between two extremes. Thus, he sought a life without social indulgences but also without deprivation.

Your statement is true for monks and nuns. Your statement isn't true for lay followers. They are also Buddhists. Lord Buddha's male cheif lay disciple Anathapindika was the richest merchant in Magadha. His daughter Vishakha was the female cheif lay follower. Both of them were Sovan (First step of enlightenment). But They didn't leave normal life. Buddhist Monks and Buddhist Nuns should give up normal life and give their whole life for try to attain enlightenment. Lay Buddhists don't leave normal life. They can live a normal life by following teachings of Lord Buddha or they can try to attain first steps of enlightenment by following teachings of Lord Buddha. Buddhism is the religion that established by Lord Buddha himself. It's the world first missionary religion.

I shall have no faith in Gauri, Ganapati and other gods and goddesses of Hindus, nor shall I worship them. I do not believe in the incarnation of God. I shall have compassion and loving-kindness for all living beings and protect them. I shall not steal. I shall not tell lies. I shall not commit carnal sins. I shall not take intoxicants like liquor, drugs, etc.(The previous five proscriptive vows [#13-17] are from the Five Precepts.) I shall endeavour to follow the Noble Eightfold Path and practice compassion and loving-kindness in everyday life. I renounce Hinduism, which disfavors humanity and impedes the advancement and development of humanity because it is based on inequality, and adopt Buddhism as my religion. I firmly believe the Dhamma of the Buddha is the only true religion. I consider that I have taken a new birth. The writings were written after Buddha's death. Mostly we can see they were compiled under some king who called in the Buddhist council. Hence there are many chances for corruption of Buddha's teachings and also the influence of brahminism. But even in these corruption's they could not delete the core principle of Buddhism .i.e RESONING. If any story or verse goes against reasoning then it has to be removed. And many writings have the start itself wrong regarding the origins of Buddha's in which he leaves his house, that anything after that the errors simply get wider and wider.

I almost can't understand how anyone could consider Navayana philosophy as genuine Buddhism. It seems like an attempt to twist the profound and universal teachings of the Blessed Siddhartha-teachings that center on individual liberation from the bonds of existence-into an ideology that resembles an Indian version of Marxism. If the intention was to challenge oppressive social structures, that’s a noble cause, but it could have been pursued without reinventing Buddhism into something so narrow and removed from its original essence. This reinterpretation feels less like a natural evolution of Buddhist thought and more like an imposition of modern political ideology onto an ancient spiritual tradition. Inventing a new philosophy is one thing, but to retroactively place these ideas into the mouth of the Buddha seems disingenuous. While I respect the effort to fight for social equality, it wasn't necessary to alter the core of Buddhism to achieve that goal. True social progress can be sought without compromising or distorting the Buddha's original teachings.

Well said. Some canons are so succinct (or rigid as well) that they may be immune to the subjection of any kind of an evolution with changing times.

Navayana cannot be considered true Buddhism. An apt term to describe Navayana is Buddhist humanism. Ambedkar rejects many central Buddhist doctrines like karma, rebirth and Nirvana being a spiritual state of extinguishing awareness. In his words, karma is a “pernicious” philosophy. He also rejects all the mystical powers displayed by the Tathagata, the chief disciple Maudgalyayana and the (real) Boddhisattva-s. He views Nirvana as a state of socially just and ideal earthly existence. He rejects the idea of rebirth and sees it to be a mere recycling of material elements to form new bodies. I think it is safe to conclude that Navayana is a laughable attempt to appropriate the teachings of the Tathagatha and His disciples. He rejects the need for Bhikku-s to attain Arahant-hood or other spiritual states. He views Bhikku-s as those who should work for the upliftment of society. In his book, he denies all the supernatural powers displayed by the Tathagatha’s chief disciples Maudgalyayana and Utphalavarna. He rejects the existence of other realms like Naraka, Trayastrimshat-Svarga and the like. As a student of Buddhism, Bhimrao and his movement as a sham. We innocent and gullible Hindu-s take anyone wearing a Kashaya robe to be a Sadhu, but this is one movement not worthy of our time or attention.

2:34 my thesis Misconceptions about Hindu casteism The biggest problem that all Hindus find in Hinduism is casteism, but this problem is as difficult as it seems, but some people are sitting in their mind by making assumptions, which tell all the assumptions wrong if there is a historical history of Hinduism. according to the documents First of all, I would like to tell the history of this word cast."The English word caste (/kɑːst, kæst/) derives from the Spanish and Portuguese casta, which, according to the John Minsheu's Spanish dictionary (1569), means "race, lineage, tribe or breed". When the Spanish colonised the New World, they used the word to mean a 'clan or lineage'." British government official Henry Waterfield wrote in his book that it had become a problem and headache for the people of India to understand their caste. and otherwise easily understood from medium to varna system and created a new category reserve system which works according to their education belt and criteria, which we know as OC OBC ST SC, for Indians this thing the purpose of easing was to colonize Hindu philosophy of casteism The principle of casteism of Hindus is something like this. Those which are decided by birth are called clan/kul and gotra and that which is decided by karma, that is varna and 36 biradari i.e. in today's era, profession and division of 36 biradari are in four parts and their sub division is also based on karma and duty. In the historical document, there is very old evidence of a theory to calculate the clan/kul and lineage, but the British ignored it, but the historians of today's times of India also ignored it. What was this theory and how was it used? Under this principle, your generation after generation is written in a series and parallel, why was it written in series and parallel, the series defines the path of direction. On the other hand, parallel defines dividing from each other and continues to follow the splitting path of direction. This principle is used in clan/kul and lineage system. To make a blood line chart. And to identify the person with his coming generation and past generation The gotra system was needed to avoid having close physical relations. Principle of two division of one gotra When a family divides into two parts and grows its generation by living in different areas, then their gotras are different i.e. their genetic structure is affected by the climate there. It is said that gotra system is divided into 7 parts but subdivision of inset gotras is also found and subdivisions of those subdivisions are also present like example 7 continents and subdivision country in those subdivision states in those and Subdivision Village City and town. Varna system "Just like the shadow of us human beings cannot leave the human side" , similarly the varna system is a social structure and it needs a civilized society. If the oldest varna system is abolished, then a new varna system seems to be standing in front of us. Modern Varna Social Structure intellectuals Defense Business Labor and subdivision professions are found inside it. This is a new varna system, say a social structure, it is the demand of every country that it needs to advance and increase, power and position, itself.

Thanks for taking time out to detail out your thoughts. Dignity of Labour is a myth in India. And there are very strong cultural notions of what is ‘pure’ and what is not thanks to certain ritualistic strains of priestly Brahmanism that was adopted by the general sets of people in power. All these lead to stratifications, and thus, discrimination. While casteism may be a Colononial phenomenon by way of semantics, it has been around in India since the decline of Vedic religion. What do you think?

No it won’t happen- unlikely. Muslims in India will want to keep it as India. Media Jingoism aside, we should have faith in all the communities here to co-exist. Muslims are not the enemy here. They are a part of us. Politics and Power are dangerous weapons used to make us think otherwise. Muslims even in the Middle East face rampant sociopolitical and economic discrimination. Don’t let the rich veneer fool you. Muslims in India have it better than even Muslims in Pakistan- we would like to go as far as Muslims in South East Asia or Bangladesh but we are not there yet. There are many things that still need to improve. Have faith in the ‘other.’

Sounds like he was trying to update the Buddha Dhamma into communism 🤔
@indieA3 жыл бұрын
Well it’s natural to think that really. But Buddhism’s affair with communism took place in Central Asia with Russians trying to use it for geopolitical dominance. Babasaheb Ambedkar had many reservations (to say the least) against Communism. If he had had the chance to solidify his Navayana thought process before he passed away, you can bet that he would have steered it in a new direction. There are many intellectual and philosophical spaces between the right and the left. Sadly, most don’t get that these days.

We have mentioned the sources in our description. Also, might we suggest that you look up the entirety of the Assalayana Sutta? In it, Gautama Buddha dismantles Brahmin supremacy along with the Varna system through dialogues with the the Brahmin- Assalayana- who was consumed with much pride. One question: Why nobody talking about...... Log religion ki vajah se ladte hai? Each and every religion starts war between humans! 😂 Here comes the hypooooos.
@indieA3 жыл бұрын
Well, to loosely paraphrase Christopher Hitchens - it's not the religion, but the religious minded thinking that causes trouble. Traits such as blind faith, love for authority, fear are some of what's wrong with religions all around the world. These traits are also a part of hard-core atheistic regimes like that of Stalin and North Korean dictatorship, which Hitchens called the 'most religious place on earth'. So, what's the solution? Independent thinking, reason, erudition - all of which we attribute to Ambedkar in Section 5 of this video. If you watch, you'll know. This video is not about religion. Keep commenting mate.

Problem kya hai na dost, Buddhism ko agar koi bhi insaan interpret karne jaayega toh kuch alag hi thought process paida jar deta hai. That’s the issue. 1900-1930’s mein Soviet Russia ne bhi Buddhism ko Communist twist dene ki koshish ki thi Central Asia aur Mongolia mein. So we can’t hold Dr. Ambedkar accountable for what’s happened. Honestly, if you read his original work without any commentary, you can see that he meant well, and his vision was pristine.
