Hi there, thanks for sharing your review! So glad that you’re enjoying the Pure Skin Cleanser! We wanted to clarify about the glycolic acid in the formula of our Pure Skin Toner. While glycolic acid is widely known for its exfoliating properties it is also a humectant. Glycolic acid chemically attracts and holds onto water molecules providing hydration to the skin. In our Pure Skin Toner we use a mindfully small amount of glycolic acid to provide hydration without irritation. Hope this information is helpful! ❤❤

I really think it is time for skin care companies to begin disclosing the percentage of active ingredients like any acids. I like the Alpha Hydroxy brand of glycolic acids because the label clearly states the percentage. I like Paula's Choice as well, for the same reason. Consumers need to know! We have gotten to the point where many of us use skincare to customize our approach to better skin. We want certain ingredients but unless we know how much of an ingredient is in a product, we often risk skin irritation, break outs or an allergic reaction.

@gabrielfigs2 жыл бұрын
The percentage of the ingredients doesn’t really tell you that much because there are several other factors that contribute to the product effectiveness. In the case of AHA, it’s dependent on the ph. If you have lactic acid in a product with a high ph level it will just work as a hydrating ingredient.

@@vixen7774 many of the biggest brands in the U.S. dont test on animals themselves, but they sell in places like mainland china. mainland china requires by law that skincare products be tested on animals before they can be sold there, so many big brands like CeraVe, Neutrogena, la roche posay, cetaphil, and many more pay third parties to test their products on animals. this is why brands like e.l.f. need to become more mainstream, brands that wont sell in places where animal testing is required. its the biggest thing that disappoints me with those brands... they all have products i love, but i find myself searching for stuff that is almost as good just for that coveted leaping bunny certification, and vegan badge...

When she said irritation with chamomile, I completely relate to that. Recently I bought a moisturizer with chamomile in it from the brand "Yves rocher" and it was fragrance free. When I put it on my face, my skin was burning like hell and it was all red, so much that I had to recleanse right away and put my regular moisturizer to calm it down. So yeah, not because it's fragrance free that you should not be aware of the other ingredients that can be irritated. By the way, when you try a product, try it on a small spot of your face, not on your hand because everything was fine when I tried it out on my hand.

OH! I love Yves Rocher! I used to use them in the 90s and loved their scents and products. I haven't thought of them in ages, so thanks for this reminder! Last time I did check them out - when I was in France, I visited their shop on Champs de elysee - they did not any longer make some of my favorites and the product lines completely changed. But, worth another look! Sorry chamomile is not suited to you - such a lovely flower. I am the same with eucalyptus and bergamot - which is awful around the holidays as it is everywhere, and I have anaphylaxis. I think Dr. Drea has a video on spot testing which is valuable. I hope you find products you can use from Yves Rocher - they have good ingredients and environmentally conscientious. Best wishes!!

The glycolic acid in the products is most likely only for search engine optimization (SEO) purposes so it shows up when people look for that ingredient as well. Yes!!!! I've been waiting for this review! Thank you so much for a great review. I've started recently with tretinoin and needed a soothing yet affordable morning cleanser and moisturizer with ceramides. After a week of use, I can say for me they are holy grail! I have sensitive oily acne prone skin and these are both so soothing. I didn't risk the toner when I saw the glycolic acid. I'm having the best makeup days now. The moisturizer soaks in and is matte finish. The pumps make use easy. For me these are better than the aveeno oat line, which was just meh for me. I couldn't use the elf holy hydration because it breaks me out, my skin hated that elf line, I think it's the squalane. This is cheaper than cerave. The moisturizer is the bomb for me, so it just goes to show everyone's skin is different.

A lot of people in the comments are saying that is what happens to their skin when they use niacinamide! Maybe that’s what you’re experiencing! 😭
@jayedwardsuk59842 жыл бұрын
Yup since the whole trend on HA and Nia came around from the Ordinary and Inky List more and MORE people are saying they experience irritation from both I honestly think both will become a thing of the past before we know it. Unless Niacinamide is formulated into products better, regards Sodium Hyularonate it's not actually true HA which maybe why it seems to be more drying. I think our skin did just fine before these 2 became such a HYPE. Personally I much prefer Glycerin over HA.. that will probably become the next best thing.

I don’t understand cleansers that include hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, ceramides, etc… I mean they’re usually somewhere in the middle to the end of the ingredients list. How much help are those ingredients when they’re only on the skin for what?, 2 or 3 minutes, if that long.

I used to read makeup and skincare reviews by Paula Begoun - founder of Paula's Choice products, but no longer connected to this business except maybe by royalties (*edit As far as I know) - and she exposed a lot of formula secrets for skincare items. Mostly, the efficacy of AHAs, BHAs and other acids is determined by the overall pH of a product. No matter how intensely any of us read labels, we are not cosmetic chemists. So for me anyway, the moral of many stories is: Shop where return policies are clearly defined. Know what to do when a product sets off an adverse reaction. And make only one change at a time.

Great video, would you consider the cleanser similar to the cerave hydrating cleanser ? Thank you.

I love the ELF holy hydration cream(have it in fragrance free and 30 spf). I haven't tried any cleansers from the brand.

Where do you get the spf30 fragrance free from? As on their website it’s listed with fragrance

@@monicaduncan7109 I meant one of each.

I use the fragrance free at night and 30 spf one during the day.

@@brittany9747 yes I love the holy hydration but I wish they would make the spf30 fragrance free as it stings and makes my eyes water too much to wear, the cleansing balm is the same but it’s so lovely otherwise 😊

@@monicaduncan7109 the 30 spf does that to me too. So I try to be careful around my eyes.

I have become very sensitive to colloidal oatmeal in products after making my own for baths for my son. It gave me bumps that became tiny scabs on the back of my hands. I recently tried using an aveeno body wash and I got the small bumps on my elbows and knees.

I like ELF products and am willing to try this line. Appreciate you sharing! BTW, I would love to know what kind of lipstick you are wearing. So beautiful!

I have the cleanser and face cream. I’m happy with them. The face wash isn’t good at removing make up though, so I use and oil cleanser first. I love that the products are affordable, vegan, and fragrance free.
