The Caribbean nation of Haiti is on the verge of anarchy. Haiti made history as the second independent state in the Western hemisphere after the US in 1804, when rebel slaves defeated their French colonial rulers. However, its path since then has been marked by a lengthy and turbulent history of foreign interference and government corruption. Regional countries and the US are pressing for a solution, but should Haiti be left to find its own way?

It's sad to say, but Haiti is past the point of free and fair elections (if that even exists anywhere in the world). Haiti has a high percentage of uneducated people in the population, and those who are not uneducated are confused, in denial, or highly corrupt. The country needs a reset. The Haitian people have no idea who to vote for, or why. There isn't a clear path to democracy there. The population and country is impoverished, but lacking that understanding or any sense of patience. It will take time, to develop security, and on top of that some industry, but even for a politician who is well intentioned, there won't be much time to accomplish anything before you're pulled out and burned in the streets. Even if you're an atheist, I think we can all agree that Haiti needs help from the Lord, because only God can save them now. I'm not even superstitious, but Haiti needs supernatural amounts of assistance at the moment. The country is teetering on the precipice of self destruction. If nothing changes millions of Hattians will die as this situation degenerates even further.

Haitian prime ministers/leaders in all Haitian history were all chosen by outsiders except for one. All others were installed and supported by colonial powers through coups or fraudulent elections.

Leaving Haiti to itself will lead to a blood bath, waves of refuge flooding into the Dominican Republic, not to mention mass starvation. Again, the world (mostly the US) will eventually have to step in. Leaving this mess to Kenyan "police", (a highly corrupt institution that regularly extorts and demands brides from Kenyans) will be the equivalent of leaving UN troops to in Rwanda that stood and watched thousands of Tutsis macheted.
