#flamesupdate 2/2 I’m writing this comment the day after the formal, and I’d just like to thank you two and of course the whole community for the support. Well, I left it until the last minute, but I plucked up the courage to ask her. We were waiting to get picked up, and I just slipped in a little, “Hey, I’ve really enjoyed tonight. I know you’re really busy and all with your sport, but I was wondering if maybe you wanted to get breakfast with me sometime before school?” My heart froze for a second. All the hours of getting the angle right for the photo on my story, listening back to your advice and of course being an anxious muppet was down to this. She looked at me and said “I’ll have to check when I’m free, but that sounds great.” I know it might seem very simple for people like the big dog, but overcoming my anxiety like that is quite rare for me, and I’m so glad I did and I couldn’t have done it without all of you. I’ve sent you some photos from the night Jim, but unfortunately I don’t have a voice recording, so sorry mate. Thanks again, I’ll make sure to check in in the comments with how we’re going. James

Just checking in. was actually shocked at the end there when flav had to ask what James's full name was. I had this image in my head of you two giving longing stares to each other in the office, handing cheeky notes under the table and sharing a lambrini together under a star lit sky. However this has now been shattered by the revelation that flav is unaware of James's given Christan name. Now I am aware this might just be a game he's playing, a little flirt you might say, but it's a dangerous game indeed. Tred carefully my son, as one day your forgetting you mates name, the next your eating carrot sticks under motorway bridge. Nethertheless keep up the good work, yours truly

Just checking in, A couple weeks ago I went for a few beers, on a thursday, for a leaving do. When I woke up the next day and opened my laptop I realised I had watched over an hour of this pod whilst drunk, that I did not remember. That night I went out again and the same thing happened, again I did not remember. Happily watched it from the start, as if the first time, hungover on saturday morning. #calmTake Marco Silva is beginning to reel in the top 6 at Everton. They've beaten Chelsea, Arsenal and Utd in the last 3 home games, but despite Skys focus on the limp opposition every time, Silva has received little credit. Controlling nearly every minute, playing incisive, high tempo, high press football, reducing the opposition to just 8 shots on target and witholding a distinct lack of quality in the final third a more clinical side would have buried them more impressively. Chelsea face a looming transfer ban and the departure of their star player. Arsenal improved under Emery, but paper over the cracks, is unlikely to get funds to address glaring problems predominantly wingers, midfielders, and centre halves. Man Utd will likely back Solskjaer but who knows how good he is or whether the wheels will come off. Keeping the spine of this developing team and permanently signing Gomes and Zouma, along with a quality striker + 1/2 players. Everton could catch the big boys sleepwalking and sneak into the top 6

I'm so unbelievably down with what Flav says about pundits talking about the bottom feeders of the league. Tired of seeing men contracted as professional footballers despite their team playing about 4 minutes of what can even vaguely be described as "football" per match. Sick of seeing teams stick 10 men in their own defensive third for 90 minutes at home because they're too shit at football (their job and lifelong passion) to do anything else against a competent premier league side. Then once the final whistle blows and I'm woken up from the coma I drifted into about 25 minutes into the half after some 6'2" 34 year old called Steve "Voted Leave" McNortertownson or whatever hacked a clearance into row Z for the 7th time I have to watch pundits wank them off and claim they deserved something from the game for getting paid millions of pounds to try quite hard at something once a week or so. Are we just distributing points to everyone who turns up regardless of quality now are we? That's called BLOODY communism Jamie Redknapp, fuck off. #calmtake? #maybe?

#CalmTake: If I was a City fan I’d honestly consider supporting another team. The crushing lows and the amazing highs is what gives me the drive to go to Anfield every other week. I just think if you know your going to win every week it gets a bit boring. It’s not even like losing out on the CL is a ‘crushing low’ because most of them claim they don’t care for it anyway.

controversial but not being bias take: de gae is the best shot stopper in the world but they need a new GK if they want to play it out from the back, unless he can be taught, because his distribution, along with the panicky defenders, stunts UTD's attacks. Ter Stegen, Allisson, Ederson, Leno, Kepa - all part of a plan, Maybe UTD's director of football would implement this

James you said if brighton played wolves they wouldn't have been that negative like against spurs. They played wolves the game before and put 10 men behind the ball and had 1 shot, 0 on target. Also brighton spent more than tottenham,77 million Brighton spent, tottenham 0. Also over the past 2 seasons brigthon have spent 10 million more than wolves.

James unfortunately the Wolves example in the Brighton conversation doesn't match your point, as they got a 0.0 away to Wolves a couple of days before the Spurs game. I agree with your point though, however for some reason Brighton have resorted to parking the bus over the last few games even though they've proved that they know how to play. I love the chemistry you and Flav have, the little looks he gives you when he's ranting about tin-pot clubs are hilarious. Thanks for the entertainment guys.

Brighton played the same anti-football against Wolves just days before James...stunk out the game to get a 0-0 draw. And they spent over £70 million over the past year, not awfully less than Wolves did relatively in the same time frame, over half of which was spent on attacking players. Definitely having a wank before the pod. And one after.

Good news Flav, believe you me Bournemouth wont do a 'Burnley' or 'Brighton', one because we dont have a remotely good defensive record anyway (especially atm with having not a single fit full back in the squad) and two because its on the TV and given the piss poor home displays from Bournemouth since the 4-0 against Chelsea at the end of January, there will be a demand from the fans for some level of quality going forward

The party itself was pretty good, but I got anxious as fuck there, and hardly talked to her all night. I know how big of an opportunity this was, and I’ve blown it. But if there’s anything I can take from the party, it’s what not to do tomorrow night. I’m going to go in on Monday just be myself, and “try and live my best life”. I’ve lost the first leg, but the tie isn’t over. I’ll check in with you guys on Tuesday over how the formal went, and I’ll DM you James any photos or even possible recordings from the night. Just checking in. Never had a wank over anything football related but in 2011 I was sat on a couch with a lady friend watching the real Madrid vs spurs match. One thing lead to another and me and the lady ended up entertaining ourselves but over the arm of the couch so I could keep an eye on the match as I really like real and couldn't stand spurs under redknapp. Anyway when Ronaldo volleyed in the winner to put real 4-0 up the tv showed a close up of redknapp. The image of that fat, jowly, melted mess of a face having it's heart broken was too much for me. I'm not ashamed to say I spaffed all over the place! Was a good day, a strange day and one that left me with some questions that could only be answered by some serious soul searching but still a good day. I've listened and loved this podcast since it first started, since before James was on it and I just want to say is a real highlight of my week. Unfortunately unlike flav who I loved straight away and to be honest is one of the reasons why I think spurs are alright now in a off the pitch sense and I find myself nodding along to things he says. I've always kept James at arms length mentality and I've never understood why. He's funny, charming and has a infectious excitement about him. Yet I could never seem to warm to him, I like the lad of course I wouldn't listen to the pod if I didn't but something has always made me suspicious of him. Something nagging at the back of my mind something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Then today it all fell into place like the end of 6th sense or momento the missing piece of the jigsaw that makes it all make sense...James is a closet Liverpool fan! I mean I know you're a QPR supporter but you definitely have Liverpool as your second team or something. Do you have a Scouse dad maybe? I hear there's a fair few of them in London. This is good though because now I know where we all stand I can stop being suspicious, open up my heart and learn to love James...and when he says something that's a bit mad I can pass it off as the kopite raving that it is. I do love the podcast I think you've hit the right balance between being a football podcast but not being all about football. Perfect to listen to when your a bit burned out on football for the week but also helps get you excited for the football at the weekend.

We win 10 games on the bounce, go from 13th in Feb to 5th in April. The in form team in all of Europe this year and play attacking good football. But we still can’t get a mention on the OFTW podcast. A little mention. I watch every week. Less then 30 seconds. It’s all I ask.
