I am near 80 and have been subject to radiology and hormone therapy for prostate cancer. I found that I was in a depressive slump, and my doctor advised me to take up weight-bearing expertise base of my bone density was down. As a result, for the past six months, I have bought a home gym and started walking up and down hills. The change has been dramatic. I feel better. Then I found your youtube channel. Wish I found it earlier but better later than never. Great stuff.

Hi John! Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I wish that more men with (and even without) prostate cancer were aware of what a miracle is exercise in ALL stages of prostate cancer. There is literally no other method that is so successful at decreasing all the symptoms of prostate cancer (and fighting the tumor cells directly) and reducing virtually every side effect of the treatments. And at the same time the only 'side-effects' of exercise are better physical and mental health. I appreciate your support a lot, it motivates me to keep put even more time in making those videos. I will make videos with evidence-based exercise protocols (that also include dietary advice) to counteract side effects and increase health in any stage or treatment phase of prostate cancer. Great stuff are coming. Thank you once again. Keep going.

I have stage 4 PC and I am doing bike riding every day . 90 minutes of high intensity- we have lots of good rides where I live so I can really push it. I believe it is a big contributor to halting the spread of the disease. The mets have disappeared from the MRI . They are still there on the PET scan but that is much more sensitive. I also feel great physically and mentally.

Hello again Doctor, I have Gleason 3 + 4 prostate cancer and doing active surveillance. I am slim build and fit but my recent mri scan showed one of my lesions had grown to 15mm from 9mm but my psa was slightly lower than the previous test. My Doctor has asked me to consider radiotherapy but said it’s totally my decision, I am confused because I feel good and eat a good diet and exercise regularly,any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Jim, thanks for your comment. We can do a lot with diet and exercise, but if the cancer is growing despite us having a super healthy lifestyle, it's time to do something about it. If your doctor recommends something, do consider it please, but at the end it's your decision. Ask your doctor about brachytherapy, it has less side effects than radiotherapy. But I'm not sure if it can be done for lymph nodes. Let us know how it goes

@@HealthierThroughProstateCancer Thanks Doc, unfortunately my prostate is too large for brachytherapy so it looks like I’m going to have external beam radiology. At least the cancer is contained within the prostate so that’s good, I will have testosterone reduction therapy first before the radiology and my main concern is that I can have normal erections once the treatment is finished. I appreciate all your advice and I will definitely keep going with the exercises too.

I start Lupron and Radiation for 5 1/2 weeks on the prostate Oct 2, ‘23. So working out, weight resistance to failure three / four days a week combined with cycling recumbent or elliptical intermittent to fail for 40 min to hour three days with high speed bursts should reduce cancer? I’m on 70 oz of smoothie with animal based protein powder eating within a 6 hour window as well. Lowered my PSA from 8.2 to 6.1 with this regime- cancer score 4+3=7. Suggestions please for heavy workouts during radiation and androgen deprivation therapy? Was planning to keep working at UPS can I contact you? Where to reach you for PM. Will compensate. Thanks Love your videos, need to learn more about you? Sincerely JWP

I think exercise raises psa but does not mean you have cancer. Have you seen the backlash on the psa test on KZbin? I LOVE IT!
@miked4122 Жыл бұрын
Exercise (and sexual activity) does temporarily raise PSA levels and it is advised you refrain for 48 hours before a PSA test because it could give a false reading. However, as this guy says; exercise in general is beneficial.

@@miked4122 Many years ago the information on the swelling from running was that the swelling will remain one day for every mile run. So there is definitely a difference between running a mile and running a marathon! I remember how sore I was after running a marathon in Dallas, Texas. Could hardly walk for two weeks!

@@jcolumbiap You may be correct although I'm quoting advise on the British NHS website but that may not take into account extreme exercise. However, I've seen other information suggesting cycling could have a more adverse effect. I posted my original comment because I wasn't told this before my PSA test and I thought it may be useful for others.

@@miked4122 I found information from a study in Germany that tested runners for elevated PSA after running. I’ll see if I can post it. I’ve survived 27 years so far after the first doctor told to get ready for death. Also back to distance running!

How did your patient gain any strength with a zero testosterone level ?
@HealthierThroughProstateCancer6 ай бұрын
There's other signaling pathways that are in the muscle fibers that are not hormone dependent.. This means that you can build muscle and strength even in the absence of testosterone
